Born in Toronto, Dr. Jiger Shah was raised in Columbus, Ohio. It was there that he became a diehard Buckeye fan (Go Bucks!). Dr. Shah attended The Ohio State University where his curiosity for dentistry grew. He immersed himself in the dental community at Ohio State, which led to a passion for the profession. While there, he met his wife, Pinal, who is also in the healthcare profession. Dr. Shah received his Bachelors degree from tOSU in 1998.

I've been going to Sunrise Dental in Durham for almost two years. I have had a great experience each time, and that is saying a lot because I usually do not like going to the dentist. Today, I had a new (to me) hygienist, Rhonda. I am not exaggerating when I say she is the best hygienist I have ever had. She was gentle and kind. Today, I went to the dentist at 8am and my wife went at 3pm. I asked her after her visit, "How was dentist?" She said, "Oh my goodness, Rhonda cleaned my teeth and she is the best hygienist I've ever had in my whole life and I've always gone to the dentist every six months! I requested her next time." I smiled because that was my same experience :) Thanks for a great experience-- Rhonda and Dr. Hansen are wonderful and I highly recommend Sunrise Dental in Durham.

Recent return to Durham necessitated the need to find a new dentist, always an anxious situation. Glad I chose Sunrise Dental. Super staff, well equipped, and they do a great job.

Everyone is very nice but Rhonda is phenomenal! She is an amazing hygienist- quick, efficient, very knowledgeable. And just so incredibly nice. She was very concerned about my comfort at all times. Can't speak highly enough of Rhonda!

I've been seeing Dr. Laura Azzu and Rebecca since a little before COVID and they always make my dental visit as pleasant as possible. Dr. Azzu has a calming presence and explains things thoroughly, and Rebecca is nice and efficient at her work. I have light sensitivity from a concussion and now they even have sunglasses in their bright office for patients with concussion - how thoughtful is that!! I haven't had any major issues with any of their dental procedures either.

Dr. Azzu and Rebecca make the visits to the dentist a wonderful experience. They are very caring to their patients and their skills are amazing. I have recommended her to several people already, and I will continue to be her patient as long as possible

Sunrise Dental is wonderful! The staff was very warm, professional and patient. Dr. Azu is my dentist and I love her. She is very thorough, patient, friendly and made sure that I was satisfied with my dentures. I was referred to them by a friend who loves their services also and I definitely will be referring anyone in need of dental services to them.

I didn't just show up late, I called ahead of my scheduled appointment to let them know I would be 10 min late. They told me ok...I drove more than 20 miles to my appointment just be told they need to reschedule me. I felt like my time wasn't as valuable as theirs. I'm commenting on this in hopes that it helps the next person that calls w/ a matter like this, just offer to reschedule in the beginning.

Solid dental practice. Staff is great. Hygienist, Rhonda, is helpful and thorough, and Dr. Hansen is great. Well oiled machine - in and out quickly. Had some extra dental work done - no issues at all!
