Dr. Evan Johnson was born and raised in the Idaho Falls area, and after graduating Skyline High School, he attended Ricks College (Rexburg, ID), BYU (Provo, UT) and Idaho State University (Pocatello, ID). He received his doctorate in dentistry, from Oregon Health Science University (Portland, OR) in 1984 and has practiced General Dentistry ever since.
Dr. Johnson is trained inall aspects of general dentistryincluding implants, root canals, oral surgery, cosmetic dentistry, and sedation. He has attended many continuing education courses. Dr. Johnson speaks Spanish.

ChyAnne graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from Idaho State University. She has worked with Dr. Hoover as one of his full time Hygienist since 2010. ChyAnne is married to Allen and together they have three children. They enjoy hunting, camping and being outdoors.
Carolina graduated from ISU with a Bachelors of Science degree in Dental Hygiene in 2004. She has been working with Dr. Hoover doing fill-in at the Channing Way office since 2006 and part-time at Sunnyside Dental since 2010. She really enjoys providing quality dental care and teaching patients how to better take care of their dentition.
She is also a full-time Mom of two wonderful kids, Emily and Jackson. In her spare time, she loves spending time with them. H2er kids keep her pretty busy with Girl Scout or Cub Scout activities and basketball. She enjoys all kinds of outdoor activities from sledding with the kids to bicycling, hiking, gardening and fishing.
Mariah graduated with a bachelors degree in dental hygiene from Idaho State University. After working in the Salt Lake area for several years, she returned to her native Idaho Falls and has been working part-time for Dr. Johnson for the last 18 years. She loves working with people and helping them have a comfortable and pleasant experience while getting their teeth cleaned.
She graduated from Rigby High School, married a wonderful man and have raised four sons. She now has four daughters-in-law and eight grandchildren. She very much enjoys being a grandmother. She started working as a dental assistant after a year at Ricks College. She was trained on the job and took expanded functions from Vo Tech in Idaho Falls. She has attended several Dental conventions in Idaho, Utah, and Florida learning the different types of procedures and dental supplies.
As well as being a dental assistant, she has worked as a Hygiene assistant and assisted in Oral Surgery. She enjoys working with the dentist and other assistants. She enjoys meeting people and helping them feel comfortable as they come to the dentist. Dentistry is rewarding as we help many with a smile that they feel good with.
Kyeshia Hayward is a native Idahoan and graduated from Technical CareersHigh School in 2017. She began her dental career education in 2018 byenrolling in College of Eastern Idaho dental assisting program. She didher externship at the office of Dr Hoover and Dr Johnson. Upongraduation, she began working for Dr Johnson full-time and has become animportant part of the Sunnyside Dental Center team. Get to know Ky. Sheloves dentistry, dogs, and people.
Debbie has been a patient of Dr. Johnson for the last 31 years. She looks forward to working with the patients and getting to know them. Her and her husband have lived in Idaho Falls for the last 31 years, and absolutely love this community. She has four amazing children, and five of the cutest grandkids ever. In her spare time she enjoys water and snow skiing, spending time with her family, and she loves to cook! She is happy to be part of the great team at Sunnyside Dental.
Shayley was born in Blackfoot, Idaho, but raised most of her life in Idaho Falls. She went to dental assisting in Salt Lake City, Ut. in 1969. She has three adult children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loves to swim, walk around river and hangout with friends and family. Mary works part-time for Dr. Hoover at Sunnyside Dental Center at front desk.
Lacey started working for Dr. Hoover in 2000. She has enjoyed meeting and becoming friends with so many wonderful longtime patients and looks forward to meeting and making new friendships with our new patients.
Please keep in mind that dental insurance is benefit only. Most dental insurance plans do not cover 100% of the cost of your treatment. In some cases, the treatment recommended is well over what benefits you have per year to use. We will try to phase treatment tobest utilize your yearly benefits, but sometimes the treatment cannot wait, and it would be worse and cost more if we did wait.
As a courtesy to our insured patients,we submit claims to your insurance company free of charge. If you insurance has not paid within 45 days of treatment you will need to make full payment to this office and be reimbursed when your insurance company pays.
Please keep in mind that the dental insurance contract is an agreement between the patient and the insurance company: therefore, the patient is responsible for the bill regardless of the insurance coverage.

One of the worst front desk ladies I've ever met. I set an appointment for a cleaning a month ago. I come in at the time I was told, and immediately there was attitude. First she told me I wasn't in their system when I've been going to this dentist since I was 16 years old (I'm 22 now). I told her 3 times there's no way I'm not in the system I had scheduled the appointment a month ago and they had looked me up over the phone just fine. Then she accused me of calling the wrong dental office, so I went back through my call logs from last month and found the number I called and it was in fact the right number, I then tell her the spelling of my name, and she proceeds to tell me that I'm still not in their system. So I tell her to look me up by my birthday after she persisted I wasn't a patient of theirs for several more minutes and she finally finds my records. Then she tells me I was never put on the schedule so now I would have to wait until October for my cleaning when I've already waited an entire month for this appointment! My mom has also had several scheduling issues with them! I've never been to any establishment where somebody was so blatantly rude.

Kind staff. The hygienist's are gentle. Dr. Hoover is personable and trustworthy. I had a daughter who had regular dentist visits with her pediatric dentist all growing up. When she graduate from high school she switch from a pediatric to a general dentist. The new dentist she went to told her she had 8 cavities. It didn't make any sense. My daughter had beautiful teeth and took very good care of them . She had no concerns or tooth aches she was just needing her 6 month cleaning. We then decided to have her go to Dr. Hoover for a second opinion and he found NO CAVITIES!!! NONE! ZIPPO! ZERO! He has your best interest at heart.

Sunnyside Dental is a very professional, caring, and outstanding clinic . The dentists and staff are very friendly and work hard to take care of your needs in a timely fashion . I have been going to Dr. Hoover, as well as my family , for over twenty years . We were very lucky to find someone who is very gentle, patient and generous to his clients . Dr. Johnson has been my dentist for 21 years! He is the absolute best. He is so so nice and I know he will not do work that is not needed just for his gain. I also have worked for him and he truly truly cares for his patients. I recommend him to anyone that wants an honest, happy, hardworking dentist.

Dr. Johnson is fantastic, but the receptionist (Allison) is unhelpful and bad at her job. She does not communicate with patients, and can't resolve problems. She makes the whole process unnecessarily difficult.

The very best experience, ever. Dr. Hoover is a friend, so we see how he is outside of the office. His sterling character and kindness with my family is evident in his personal life and his work. I have ultra sensitive teeth and I feel well taken care of at Hoover Dental.

I have been going to Dr Johnson for 34 years and would not consider any other Dentist. He has been the family dentist for all of these years. My kids have had wonderful teeth in their adult years. My husband and I have great teeth that Dr Johnson has maintained to prevent loss or deterioration. We have always been pleased with all of our dental work. He is a very gentle dentist, friendly, and with a great bedside manner. He strives to make it a comfortable experience. The staff at Sunnyside Dental is top notch. I don't think words can describe how wonderful Dr. Hoover and his staff really is. Myself and my 2 boys have been coming here for 10 years now. My boys were 4 and 11, they love coming to the dentist. Wether it is a cleaning, cavity fill, or wisdom teeth removal, my kids have never had a bad experience. They enjoy the dentist!! Dr. Hoover made a special visit to the hospital to fix my elderly mom's broken tooth after a procedure. Not because he had to but, because he cared about his patients so much. I will tell everyone I know how wonderful this place is an recommend to all!! Thank you all so much!!!
