Dr. Kourtsounis or Dr. K is a pediatric dentist originally from Long Island. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1998. After graduation, he returned to Maryland where his family had moved and was accepted into the top ranked University of Maryland, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery where he received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2003.
In 2006, Dr. Kourtsounis was accepted into the pediatric dentistry specialty at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. He served as chief resident and helped author various publications, which appeared in local and nationwide dental journals.
Dr. Kourtsounis has continued to stay on at Mount Sinai as an attending faculty and has dedicated his free time to teaching at the residency and performing dental rehabilitation cases in the operating room under general anesthesia.
Dr. Kourtsounis and his wife have a six-year-old son who is also very interested in becoming a dentist like his dad. He is a diehard Chicago Blackhawks and NHL fan, and a car enthusiast who enjoys racing his car on the weekends

Dr. Shawn and Oscar the assistant are the best! Oscar made my child feel comfortable the whole time and definitely wants to come back for his next visit! Would recommend anyone to come here with them! Clean and professional office!!

Very clean and efficient! The office is decorated in everything kid-friendly and they even have televisions on the ceilings for the kids when they're in the chair! The staff was friendly and helpful! This will be our go to pediatric dentist from now on!

We were 10 minutes late due to rain and other unavoidable factors. We were shunned away. Ever appointment we ever had we've had to wait at least 15-20 minutes. The office staff was rude. We only ever like one dental assistant. They dentists change frequently and we never get the same one. You just lost two patients because there's no respect.

My daughter had her 1st visit and she has cavities we returned to have them fixed, each visit was amazing. The staff spoke in age appropriate language for her at 5 years old. They were so kind.

Tina the dental hygienist was rude to my son and then when I confronted her about her rude behavior she told me she was sorry that my son was offended by her demeanor. Unacceptable for a person to work with children and be that unprofessional. I hope that her attitude changes because people will not bring their children to an office to be disrespected.

Amazing staff, kind and caring hygienists. Dr. Shawn (the pediatric dentist) was incredible. Kind, good energy, great with my daughter, thorough, and well spoken. I highly recommend him and this whole practice to anyone looking for a dental practice that truly cares about its patients.

**BEWARE** Extremely unprofessional and completely not understanding. I am so disappointed I missed a day of work to just be sent home because I was 7 mins late for my toddler's appointment. However, every other appointment we've been to -on time- they have us wait 40 mins to be seen for a cleaning. Will never go back there again.

Everyone here is amazing! The front desk girls are very helpful and accommodating! They make it so easy to schedule appointments! They're very kind, friendly, and amazing!! The hygienists and the doctors are all great and professional and my children feel so comfortable coming here! I love it here and would recommend this office to anyone!

I've tried to keep using this dental office but over and over again I am disappointed from the phone calls/ service to the back. Dental hygienists are always friendly and good with kids so that's a positive.

My son previously has had a terrible dental experience. Today was amazing he had no issues at all he did great. EVERYONE there was friendly and cordial. Will definitely bring him back.

Clean office, friendly staff, not a long wait at all. They don't typically let parents in for older children but they made an exception since my 10yo son was a new patient so I could meet the hygienist and dentist. Overall great place!
