Dr. Emami has been practicing Dentistry since she graduated from Tehran University School of Dentistry in 1983. Shortly after establishing herself as a dentist, she moved to California and has been practicing in Southern California since 1990. She has two successful practices which she prides herself on quality, consistency, and a pleasant dental experience. She is a wife to a local physician, and mother of two daughters, one of which is following in her footsteps, studying at USC School of Dentistry. Dr. Emami is keenly aware of the vast benefits of good oral health. Proper chewing is the beginning of good digestion, absorption of nutrients, and thus, good overall physical health. Having a confident smile, and chewing with confidence, are of the utmost importance to Dr. Emami and her patients.
Julie loves working with children! She's volunteers in school programs to help dispel the fear around dentistry. She obtained her Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry degree from Washington State University's dental school. Her minor in Child Psychology gives her a unique insight into how to make dentistry a positive experience that will encourage your children to care for their teeth for life!

I'm reviewing for my husband. He switched to Dr. Emami - she was highly recommended by a friend and I see a lot of good reviews. Right off, he was told he had to get a root canal (first one in 75 years) but some months later he had to have tooth removed (bone absorption!), so that was a waste of time and money. But giving the benefit of the doubt, and it may well have been that the bone absorption wasn't visible or such, the annoying part was the insistence on putting in an implant when the tooth was removed. A second opinion I had to insist on getting confirmed that the implant in the last molar was optional and a decision could wait. We have Delta Dental with Kaiser but there are other clinics in the area that take it, including CV Dental on Foothill. Again, so many people are thrilled with Dr. Emami, I think we are just not a good fit. My husband is no longer a patient.

***DO NOT GO TO THIS DENTIST*** The dentist herself is awful but the woman Marissa who works up front is even worse!! She has a bad attitude is unprofessional and likes to argue!! Listening to her talk to customers is appalling!! As my visit went on it got worse!! The dentist cracked my tooth during a cleaning with the tool and told me that the pain and break I felt the day after the cleaning is coincidence. She did not fix it and now I have to file a claim and look for another dentist to fix!!

Dr. Mahvash was amazing with my 5 year old Noah, very patient & cordial. Made my Noah feel comfortable and trusted her through his procedure. He left her office with a big smile and happy. Also Receptionist Nancy Very nice and respectful she makes you feel welcome and comfortable. We will always come back to Sunland dental care

Reading the bad reviews on this thread does not do this dental office justice. The doc was honest and straight to the point. I went in for teeth cleaning, tooth extraction, and ridding of 2 cavities later and i'm coming back for more. There's blood, needles, and smells. What else do you expect? Take care of your mouth, and keep your feelings in check!
