I am the office manager and have worked here since 1988. Helping our patients feel welcome and taking time to answer all their questions makes my job rewarding. I've been married since 1988 and have two beautiful daughters. I enjoy spending time at our cabin at Truman Lake with my friends and family and volunteering at church.

I have been in dentistry since 1995, a dental hygienist since 2000 and have had the pleasure of working for Dr. Gilmore at two previous practices in the past eight years. I 've gained valuable experience working in a variety of dental specialties including a periodontal practice and a pediatric clinic. Professionally I feel like I am finally 'home'. Dr. Gilmore and I have very similar philosophies and seek to exceed our patients ' expectations in providing quality and compassionate dental care.
Dr. Gilmore believes everyone should have a fun, friendly and relaxed time at the dentist and have the opportunity to receive the best and latest dentistry available. His commitment to providing the best dentistry is proven by his precise expertise.
Dr. Mark L. Gilmore received his bachelors degree in Accounting and Business Administration from Drury University in Springfield, Missouri. He later left this field to pursue a career in dentistry and attended the University Of Missouri Kansas City School Of Dentistry and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery. (DDS) His education hasnt stopped there. He takes a tremendous amount of Continuing Education every year to stay on top the latest technology.
Dr. Gilmore is a general dentist with an interest in restorative, comprehensive and cosmetic dentistry, as well as a provider of Invisalign Orthodontic Care. He holds membership in the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Kansas Dental Association and the Wyandotte County Business West Association.
Dr. Gilmore was involved in civic charities throughout his education. Although he started his career in a private practice in Leavenworth, Kansas, he spent the next 3 years working in a practice serving the needs of disadvantaged children and young adults. Giving back to the community is important and is very rewarding.

I highly recommend Dr. Gilmore at sunflower family dentistry. My son and I have gone to his practice for all dental care and cleanings since we moved to Kansas City three years ago. Dr. Gilmore, his assistants, and all staff are always efficient, friendly, thorough and even accommodating with my work schedule and my sons school schedule. I would not consider going elsewhere with the service they have provided to both of us.

I have been a patient of Sunflower Family Dentistry for many years. When Dr. Beckett retired I was anxious for the transition to a new Dentist, however, I could not be more pleased with Dr. Gilmore! A dental appointment with Dr. Gilmore and his staff has never been anything short of comfortable, informative and welcoming...you become a member of the Sunflower "family". I look forward to my quarterly visits. Not many people would say that about visiting a dentist.

I absolutely love Dr. Gilmore and his staff. They are all so friendly. My children even look forward to their 6 month visits because the staff is so good with them. I would highly recommend this dental office to anyone looking for a new dentist!

The staff here is amazing. They always make you feel comfortable and at ease with any procedure. They will answer any questions and give full explanations if you are nervous or have any concerns. I have been a patient here for over 10 years and will continue to be as long as they are open. Not very many parents can say that their 7 year old child loves going to the dentist office but I can! My son absolutely adores Dr. Gilmore and his staff. I am very thankful to have found this office!

Dr. Gilmore and his staff are caring people with excellent skills. They do their best to make the dental experience as pleasant as possible. Patients in need of their services are accomodated, given as much time as needed, and not made to feel rushed. They explain treatment plans, insurance benefits, and payment options so there are no surprises. Trust me, this is not something all offices do, and no one likes that kind of unwanted surprises! I have been Dr. Gilmore's patient as long as he has been in practice at this office. I cannot imagine going anywhere else. Treating each patient as if they are the only and most important patient they will see seems to be the goal. I have and will continue to recommend Sunflower Family Dentistry. They are the best!
