Originally from Ohio, Dr. Robert Lin called New York his home for over a decade. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Dr. Lin continued his education at University of Pennsylvania where he earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine Degree. After completion, Dr. Lin completedNYU Langone Dental Advanced Education in General Dentistry program (AEGD)in San Francisco.
Dr. Lin values the importance of patient education and prevention so they feel comfortable and understand the scope of their oral health and what they can do to improve their quality of life. His background in psychology helps patients cope with their fear of visiting dentists.
Dr. Lin believes in staying current with the latest technology and advancements by attending continuing education courses throughout the year. Dr. Lin is anactive member of California Dental Association (CDA), American Dental Association (ADA), and San Diego County Dental Society (SDCDS).
Dr. John Murphy has been an associate dentist of Sun Smile Dental Group for 9 years. Dr. Murphy has over 20 years of experience in dentistry. Hegraduated from University of Missouri School of Dentistry. Outside of work, Dr. Murphy lives an active lifestyle with his wife and two boys.

Dr. Lin & staff was friendly, professional, & efficient. We recently relocated from the Bay Area and was referred to Dr. Lin. Prior to our appointment, we received text & email reminders which was appreciated! We were extremely happy with our first appointment as Dr. Lin took his time during the cleaning process to explain the key areas that need attention ensuring good dental hygiene. We highly recommend Dr. Lin & staff and will be back for all future dental care.

5 Stars to Dr. Lin !!! This dental office truly cares about the patients. They have the latest equipment, a welcoming clean environment and friendly staff. Claire explained what she's going to do and provided insurance coverage. She's very friendly and provided excellent customer service. Dr. Lin spent ample time with me listening to my concerns and providing helpful solutions. So happy with the results. A fantastic office.

I had a great experience here. I had wisdom tooth pain and they took me in the same day for the removal. I was in and out within an hour. Staff is very friendly and caring.

I've done my research in researching a dentist that not only is an educated professional, but with a compassionate bedside manner. Learning even more of Dr. Lin from a popular social media site, I took a leap of faith and made an appointment to establish care. I was able to make an appointment to establish care in early August, but unfortunately had an emergency that required immediate attention and couldn't wait until my initial visit. Dr. Lin and his caring assistant, Claire and front office staff were able to see me the following day. I walked into the office with trepidation and immediately was put at ease by the receptionist, and Claire. I had a 2:00 appointment and was in the dentist's chair at 2:00! Sharing and explaining my emergent issue with Claire and Dr.Lin was quite emotional, they were compassionate and understanding and Dr. Lin immediately gave his professional and personal opinion and went to work with an explanation on his every move from beginning to end. I was in and out within an hour and honestly looking forward to my next visit in August. As the evening after my visit progressed, I recognized that something wasn't right with the tooth Dr. Lin repaired earlier in the day. This was at approximately 8:00 PM, Friday evening, after the office was closed for the weekend. I was hopeless in what to do next, but shared with Dr. Lin during my appointment that I would be leaving Saturday (the next day) for a very important out of town family event. I left a voicemail and an e-mail with the circumstances, thinking that I would have to wait for a response on Monday. Low and behold, Dr. Lin personally e-mailed me, and asked if I was available Saturday morning!! He was there when I arrived in his office and his compassionate care and concern never faltered. He was able to resolve this issue in 15 minutes giving me the opportunity to be on my way to my very important family event. I am happy that I took the time to research Dr. Robert Lin, and am truly grateful for his personal touch, care and concern. Thank you Dr. Lin, here's to you and your team of professionals.
