Dr. Nielsen is recognized as a talented and compassionate dentist who is known for her gentle touch. Her enthusiastic spirit, passion for dentistry, and dedication to the community at large make her the perfect fit for our Sumner community. Dr. Nielsen feels privileged to have the opportunity to take care of her patients and have an outstanding dental team working alongside her.
Dr. Nielsen has European roots. She was born in Bosnia but has a great love for the Pacific Northwest. She graduated with honors from Pacific Lutheran University and went on to the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine to earn her Doctorate of Dental Medicine. She is a board-certified member of the American Dental Association, Washington State Dental Association, and Pierce County Dental Association, and a member of Rotary Club, South Hill branch. She continues to pursue and advance her education actively and is a member of several local study clubs.

The whole team at Sumner Smiles is incredible. I hadn't been to the dentist in over a decade and knew I had to get some work done. I have been nervous going into it, but am so pleased to have found Dr. Nielsen in Sumner!!! Every single person there is genuine, kind, professional, and works confidently with ease. I feel well taken care of and comfortable when I am in the chair. I have been referred to an oral surgeon to remove all four wisdom teeth, and an endodontist for a root canal both by Dr. Nielsen who wastes no time taking care of what's important. I am amazed and impressed with how this team handles business. Thank you Sumner Smiles!!!

One year ago I became a patient at Sumner Smiles after an embarrassingly long gap of seeing a dentist. My biggest fear was judgement and expressed that in the inquiry form I filled out, having made the new year resolution that I would find a dentist. Finding Dr Nielsen and the team at Sumner Smiles was the best thing I ever did. Judgement-free zone. Best and most gentle care I've ever received. And now, a year later, they have taken care of my issues, gotten my gums back in good shape, and I actually look forward to my visits. This is a huge deal! Jessica is the best hygienist I've ever had and the rest of the team is also friendly and so wonderful to interact with. I cannot recommend this dental office highly enough. They are the absolute best.

I love my smile! It's the one thing I can put on every day with confidence! Sumner Smilee makes taking care of my teeth easy! The staff are super friendly and caring and the dentist is on top of her game and the technology! She has high standards for herself and her staff! I know I am in excellent hands when I am there! Because Sumner Smiles is its own entity, not just a cog in a huge corporate wheel, they are always thoughtful, considerate, and keep track of who I am as a person. I love that! I was in getting a cleaning/checkup yesterday, and they were thorough, painstaking in helping me do the best I can to have a healthy mouth and teeth. By doing this, they help me to lead the best life because one's mouth affects and is connected to everything. They are quality, and I can't recommend them more highly (I have been to two dentists that were traumatic experiences, and this is my dental safe haven.) I trust and respect them completely and actually look forward to going in :)

Sumner Smiles is a very friendly place to do dental work at. I love all the women who work there. I do wish they would provide assurance that all of them are fully vaccinated, I had to ask my caregiver whether she was.

Best dental experience ever!! Dr. Nielsen and the whole staff are so friendly and made me feel very comfortable. Would highly recommend them to anyone! Actually, the above review was for my wife's visit. Here's mine: Great experience isn't something you would normally associate with a dental visit, but with Sumner Smiles it is true. They are very competent, but just as important, very personable and caring. They are willing to take time to explain procedures from a normal cleaning to a crown replacement, and more. Feels more like visiting a friends home rather than a dental office. Well done!

The staff is very knowledgeable and informative in their positions. Everyone was professional, cheerful and kind. I loved the atmosphere, it relaxed me. The office was clean, nicely decorated and had easy yet fun music. I was comfortable through the entire visit.

I've been going to Sumner Smiles for dentist work for a while now and they are always very friendly and professionally efficient. The office manager Tammy is always quick to respond. Dr. Nikolina is always thorough, and takes the time to make thoughtful suggestions and gives actionable advice to better your oral health even if you're mostly on top of it. Would recommend!

Ok Tammy is always great to deal with but she was a magician as she also worked a way for my daughter to get in for a cleaning visit as she needs a new dentist. I had messed up her appointment and she could not come in at the new time but Tammy found a way to get her scheduled that fit her busy life in Seattle. I have seen Dr. Neilson for years and she is outstanding. The office is always great and the staff outstanding, going to the dentist is fun when it's event free!!

I found my go to dentist. After seeing the same dentist for 30 years (he retired) I began searching for a new dentist. After many recomendations, reviews and trials of 5 years I found the place. Clean, friendly excellent people skills, current (continuing education, latest equipment and knowledge) updated , educated and modern decor.
