Dr. Mathew began his career as a general dentist in a mission hospital in Southern India. After practicing for almost three years, he moved to the United States in 2001 to pursue a Masters degree in Dental Public Health at the University of Michigan School of Public Health and a residency in Dental Public Health at the State University of New York in Albany. After residency he worked at the Missouri State Department of Health and Senior Services. For over 7 years, he was a Clinical Assistant Professor at the UMKC School of Dentistry - Department of Dental Public Health. He completed the DDS program at UMKC School of Dentistry.

While working with a diverse population in Dental Public Health, it became apparent to Dr. Mathew that he especially enjoyed, and has a gift for working with children. He decided to combine the compassion that inspired his public health emphasis with his passion for providing the highest quality dental care for children and enrolled in the Pediatric Dentistry Residency program at the University of Rochester in upstate New York.

As a Pediatric Dentist, Dr Mathew has been an Associate in practices in the Kansas City area in Missouri and Kansas. Dr. Mathew is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Board of Dental Public Health. Dr. Mathews many years of experience as a compassionate champion for dental health, coupled with his ability to make childrens dental visits a fun and positive experience make him uniquely qualified to care for your child.

Dr. Mathew is a believer in the power of music to assist children through dental visits. He enjoys traveling, and exploring the great outdoors with his family, especially North American National Parks!

It was a great first time experience for my 4yr old daughter to see a Dentist. She had so much fun. Staffs are friendly and accommodating. What I love is their reminder of the appointment service and their pre-check in online so no need to fill up when we arrived. Worth visit, fast service, and freebies.

New to the area and this pediatric dentist. The staff was warm, welcoming, and very knowledgeable. The hygienist was nice to answer my kids questions when they had them and made them feel very comfortable. The dentist was informed and didn't mind telling us how to keep up with our oral hygiene in the best way to prevent cavities. This will be our new dentist moving forward

I'll start by saying everyone else besides the dentist was amazing. So kind and friendly and really listened. I got excited and felt like we had found our dental office for my kiddos teeth! NOPE! The dentist himself was absolutely awful! First he kept touching my kids arm and head and made her incredibly uncomfortable! Second he refused to treat my daughter unless we switch to his choice of tooth paste! Absolutely not going to happen. Talked down to me and was so incredibly rude! He is the reason why I despise most people in the medical profession! Talked disrespectfully about previous dentist recommendations for my child and overall was an absolute worst dentist experience I've ever had. No respect for patients choice in treatment or care. I couldn't cancel my other 2 children appointments fast enough. I'll never go back and never recommend to anyone!

The staff was incredible to work with my little one. From the people at the front desk, to the hygienist, and Dr. Mathews. They made her feel safe, played with her, and I couldn't have been more appreciative. I look forward to her next visit!

I was blown away with my experience today. My 7 year old got sealants and filling and did not complain of any pain at all. Dr. Matthew and his team did an amazing job to ease anxiety and make the experience fun. 10/10 recommend!

Awesome office for kids! Dr. Mathew and the girls were warm and welcoming and the office has a very fresh look and feel. My 4 y/o daughter is very anxious about dental visits but everyone was very patient with her and did a great job gaining her trust and easing her anxiety. Highly recommend! Update: my daughter is now 6 and absolutely loves coming to Summit Pediatric Dentistry. The girls are great at making it fun and lighthearted and Dr. Mathew is fantastic with her. So glad we found SPD!

Everyone in this office is extremely pleasant to work with. The dental assistants who clean the kids teeth are always patient and extremely kind. The dentist is by far the B E S T I've encountered. He does his best to make the kids feel comfortable with coming to the dentist, he explains things thoroughly and moves at the pace the kids are comfortable with. My son had a horrible first experience with a different office and was absolutely terrified but after coming here for a few years now he almost looks forward to it :)

We have been using Summit Pediatric Dentistry for a few years now for my son. Everyone there is soooo nice and gentle! I think we've always been called back before or right at our appointment time so that's definitely a plus too!

Took me 2 months to get in to see the dentist when my grand daughter who is 6 chipped her tooth on vacation. Finally got in and the dentist came in and stated she has an abscess that is infected. Then the dentist said you will need to go see someone else because his schedule was booked. I was shocked that they said she had infection with no antibiotic given. I asked and they said not needed. Ok. Called the other place they couldn't see her until May. So I called The office back and spoke to Clare who told me that the dr didn't want to do it because my grand daughter has anxiety. I asked who determined that. Clare hung up on me. Later same day got a call from Angel who said that Clare hung up on me because I was not very nice. Although I never raised my voice and didnt use any inappropriate language. But I was upset because I have a 6 yr old in pain and they dont seem to care. On top of that they were changing thier story as to why we couldnt be seen. Then the tipping point for me was the way Angel tried to shame me for not being in since end of year 19. Apparently she forgot that dentist werent seeing patients unless emergency and when they did open back up they were booked solid and they reduced hours. In my opinion if you care about your kids, you should take them to a dentist who cares. So you should stay as far away from this place as you can.

My child suffers from severe anxiety, adhd, and a sensory processing disorder. So the dentist has always been an uphill battle....until now!! Summit Pediactric dentistry was unbelievable! The front desk staff was super welcoming, and personable. The hygienist who did the X-rays was so patient with my child, explaining everything along the way, and not making a move without my child's comfort and consent. My child's hygienist was just as great, made my child feel comfortable, and gave my child complete control over what she did and didn't do. Then the actual doctor....WOW....he was beyond wonderful with my child. He let my child help him do his exam, hold the instruments and inspect them before he used them. They kept telling my child, and me "we want her comfortable and confident when thinking of us". That reassurance combined with their calm, mellow, relaxed personality's was so great to see in a pediactric office. This was our first visit with them and we are now forever patients. Especially because this was the first and only time my child has not cried and shook in utter fear of having her teeth looked at!
