I am truly blessed to love my profession. Every day I help wonderful people make lasting, healthy changes in their lives. I love it when a proud parent or former patient shows me pictures, years after treatment, of graduation, the prom, and even wedding photos. Its rewarding to know thatin some way, I have touched their lives.
I love getting to know each of my patients and their families. Its truly a joy to watch a patients personality blossom as he or shesees anew smile appear. Each patients self-esteem grows, and with it their confidence. They begin to smile and laugh openly and comfortably, and not worryabout their previously crooked teeth.

Im committed to life-long learning, and always expanding my knowledge and skills. I grew up in Rosemont, a suburb of Philadelphia. I moved to the Harrisburg area in 1990 and am glad to be part of such a wonderful community. My husband, Peter Henninger, and I met in college. Hes an attorney whopracticesin Hershey.
Dr. Spangler not only completed dental school with honors, but completed an additional two years of specialized training in orthodontics beyond dental school. Orthodontics and braces are our specialty; its all we do, which gives us the experience to provide you the highest quality care possible.

Orthodontic appliances are made of metal, ceramic, or plastic. They may be removable or they may be brackets bonded to the teeth. By placing a constant, gentle force in a carefully controlled direction, braces slowly move teeth to the proper position.
Gone are the days when a metal band with a bracket was placed around each tooth. You can now choose clear or metal brackets and, in some cases, the color of your appliance. Wires are far less noticeable, and the latest materials are designed to move teeth faster with more comfort. Today, any age is a great age to wear braces!
Treatment time varies and can last between one and three years, depending on several factors including age, treatment method, and how minor or severe your case is. A big factor in a successful treatment is you! The more involved and diligent you are, the more efficient your treatment will be. For children, receiving interceptive or early treatment can also help provide a quicker treatment time.

My daughter has been going to Summit Orthodontics for a little more than 2 years for her braces, and after each appointment she tells me how nice and gentle the staff is. The process of getting her brackets tightened is near painless and she always appreciates the music playing in the background. With the help of Summit, my daughter's teeth are looking as good as new!

Please do not send your children here. Doctor Spangler is a very rude/fake person. I've been there several times (taking my niece) and seen the way the doctor treats her employees. Not to mention she is money hungry. If you are considering orthodontics do yourself a favor and avoid this place like the plague!

This is our second consult now with my son now well on his way. Dr. Spangler is great and so is her staff. They take the time to explain everything and give you a complete layout of the different options providing a very easy way to do orthodontics.

I'm glad I recieved treatment from this place. I ended up moving an hour away, and all those long drives were worth it. They've veen very accommodating with me through two pregnancies and also were very helpful and understanding when I was going through a financial issue. I felt comfortable going there and they are all very kind. They always made sure I was comfortable and cared about my teeth turning out great, which they did! If you listen to them and do what they say, you should never have a problem with your braces. Only time anything broke was when I did or ate something they told me not to do lol! Both the old and new receptionists always made scheduling easy and convenient for me. I'm very happy with my new smile and everything was well worth it! Thank you to Dr. Spangler and everyone else in the office!

This is the most unprofessional place I have ever been too! I talked to the receptionist on the phone and asked her SPECIFICALLY if there was a consultation fee and she said NO! I asked her a couple times during the phone call and she assured me that there was no fee! I also asked her repeatedly if she was sure that they specialized and were able to treat TMJ and she again over and over told me Yes we specialize and treat TMJ! Now I don't know if this receptionist was day dreaming during our phone call or if she is just bad at her job? I don't know but she lied about everything she told me on the phone ! I arrived 15 minutes before my appointment ( because she told me very specifically that I HAD to be 15 minutes early ) only to find that NOONE was there because they were ALL out on lunch so I waited over 15 minutes until they finally came back from lunch (So now it's past the time of my appointment) A lady finally called me back for my appointment and she started asking me about getting fitted for clear guard. About 5 minutes into the appointment I realize that the tests that she was doing on me were not for TMJ .. so I asked the lady if she knew why I was here and she tells me that she has me down for possibly getting me fitted for clear guard . Apparently the receptionist "forgot" that I was there for TMJ! I was there for almost two hours I don't even know why. So finally they say that they will call me to let me know if they can treat me after they look over my records. So as i am about to leave the receptionist ( the same one who talked to me earlier on the phone) says I'm sorry but there is a consultation fee ! She try's to tell me that she is sorry and that she told me the wrong thing! To make matters worse she then calls me a week later and tells me that I need to come in and sign some papers ( this was on a Monday ) . I told her that I would come in on Thursday to sign the papers. So on Thursday I'm about to get in my car to drive over to sign the papers when I decide to call to make sure that they will be open when I get there . The same receptionist answers the phone and I tell her that I'm about to leave to sign the papers. She says o I'm sorry but I looked over the papers on Tuesday and realized that you don't need to sign any papers are you SERIOUS! SHE COULDNT CALL ME TO LET ME KNOW THAT I DIDNT NEED TO DRIVE IN TO SIGN THE PAPERS! So I went through ALL of that and they never called me back to let me know if they could even treat me! It's been over TWO months and they havent even had the courtesy to call me and let me know if they are able to help me or not . Sooooo NO, I DO NOT recommend this organization to ANYONE!

My daughter has been a patient of Summit Orthodontics for a year now and we are extremely happy with our experience. Dr. Spangler is great and we just love the office staff! Everyone takes the time to explain to my daughter what they are doing and the next steps in her treatment so we know what to expect. I would definitely recommend this practice to others for orthodontic care.

I have been exceptionally pleased with our experience at Dr. Spangler's office. My son is currently in treatment. All the staff are professional and friendly. Dr. Spangler is very professional and takes the time with my child each appointment to make sure he is comfortable. I would recommend her practice for anyone looking for orthodontic care.

I would strongly not recommend this office. They simply do not stand behind their work, have terrible office and billing policies. Seek care elsewhere! Although response is noted at 17 months of wear we had to fully replace the retainer the second time in this period of time. A "permanent" retainer should last for years under normal use.
