Dr. Andy Pernell is a second-generation dentist, born and raised right down the road in Newton-Conover, NC. He is dedicated to providing exceptional and quality dental experiences for all of his patients, which is the passion that drove him to open his own practice: Summit Family Dentistry.

Dr. Layne Veneri, is our Associate Dentist at Summit Family Dentistry. He takes pride in his abilities and in providing excellent care to his patients. His compassionate nature and caring attitude guides his care, as he treats everyone like family.

Our office is modern, bright, and designed with your experience in mind! It was completed in June 2017 and we could not be more proud of how it turned out! We believe it sets the bar for what you should expect of a modern dental office, and we have left nothing out. Great experience! Dr. Pernell uses an ultrasonic pick to remove tartar instead of the endless, painful scraping I always endured before. I also liked being able to see the x-ray and camera images as they were discussed. Very progressive, modern dentistry.

I avoid the dentist unfortunately at all costs! With that being said I had the best experience I have ever had at the Dentist today. And I had a root canal. I have been twice now and neither time have I been stuck in the waiting room or in a room waiting for someone to show up. I was told what was happening every step of the way so things were not unexpected. I did not feel rushed and I felt like my time was valued. Dr. Pernell did not work on six other people while he was working on me. The front desk staff, the hygienist, and the assistants are just all super sweet. I am so happy I picked this Dentist. I am a new patient and I would highly recommend this choice.

I was so impressed with Dr. Pernell and his staff. My daughter had a very bad experience with her prior dentist and was very anxious about having another tooth pulled. She cried before Dr. Pernell even started as she was anticipating it to be another horrible experience. Well, she was pleasantly surprised that he and Kayla were so sweet to her and took the process very slowly to ensure as little discomfort as possible. Dr. Pernell was very compassionate and couldnt have been sweeter to Danielle. Hes restored her faith in dentists again:) Thank you so much!!! I will sing your praises to everyone I know.

I woke up in the middle of the night in serious pain from a broken tooth... Dr. Andy was so great to help work me in and take care of me and this pain! I fully recommend this practice and will definitely be back!

Ace and TJs Grin Kids. Grin Kids was formed to provide the opportunity for children with life-threatening illness to go to Disney World with their families. It is a wonderful opportunity that many of these children would not otherwise have.

We thoroughly enjoyed completing dental screenings at the Love Denver event held at East Lincoln High School! Love Denver is a multi-church sponsored, back to school themed, community medical clinic with a mission to meet the spiritual and physical needs of the needy through the Gospel and Name of Jesus.

We also had a lot of fun working on the NC Baptist Dental Van at Real Life Church in Lucia. We were able to see quite of few people in need for dental work along with other members of the dental community in Denver and surrounding areas. We had a lot of fun and hope to make this a tradition.

We volunteered in Charlotte on the Ada Jenkins Dental Bus at the Salvation Army Center for Hope Shelter. It was a great way to again help those that would otherwise not be able to get the dental care they deserve.

Dr. Andy Pernell is a second-generation dentist, born and raised right down the road in Newton-Conover, NC. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill graduating with a BS in Biology in 2008. He continued his education in Chapel Hill, earning his DDS degree from UNC School of Dentistry in 2013, graduating first in his class. While in dental school, Dr. Pernell earned multiple awards in esthetics and implants. In addition, he was inducted into the National Dental Honor Society Omicron Kappa Upsilon as an Alumni Member. Upon graduation from dental school, Dr. Pernell completed an additional year of training in the Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the NC Veteran Affairs (VA) Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC. Since that time, he has practiced as an associate in the greater Charlotte area with some great mentors!

Dr. Andy believes in providing an exceptional experience for his patients with quality care. This is why he decided to start his own practice, Summit Family Dentistry. He is committed to providing the best care possible and takes over 100 hrs of CE a year, far exceeding state requirements. His next goal is earning his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry.

Outside of the dental office, Dr. Andy enjoys spending time with his family, going to the gym, playing various sports, and spending time with friends. Dr. Andy resides in the Lake Norman area with his wife, daughters, and dog.

In his free time, Dr. Veneri and his fiance, Bryanna, enjoy spending time outdoors and the company of their two dogs Sampson and Zoe. Dr. Veneri and Bryanna are avid adventurers and enjoy new opportunities. Dr. Veneri loves photography and flying his drone.
