Dr. Lana El-Shaar was born and raised in Akron, Ohio. She went to Walsh Jesuit High School and later graduated from the University of Akron with a Bachelor Degree in Biology. She then continued her education at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry where she earned her doctorate of Dental Surgery.
Dr. El-Shaar is enthusiastic about returning back to her hometown and is privileged to serve a community which has helped raise her into the individual she has become today. Dr. El-Shaar is committed to providing compassionate and comprehensive dental care for all patients.

I've been coming here for years and they're great. The hours are so convenient and they're good about finding time for last second needs. Recently I've had Dr Barry work on my teeth and he is AMAZING. I have a lot of anxiety about dental work because I rarely get fully numb. He is the first dentist to ever fully numb me. He's personable, great at explaining what he's doing, so thorough, and just overall legitimately the best dentist I've ever seen.

Wonderful Dentist office! Dr. Salem, Loretta and the entire staff are wonderful! It was my daughter's first dental appointment and they made it an amazing first dental experience! The clerical staff is friendly and made our appointment promptly. Loretta explained what she was doing every step of the way and made my daughter so comfortable with what was happening. Dr. Salem is kind, funny, and has a great chairside manner! I wish I would have had the same childhood dental experience. From start to finish this office is a well run establishment with staff that enjoy working together and provide a very welcoming environment for children and adults. Thank you Summit Dental for taking such great care of my little girl!
