Dr. Deweys passion is delivering exceptional dentistry with the latest techniques and equipment, while making a connection with patients and helping them feel comfortable. He is a genuinely friendly person and we are lucky to have him join our team at Summit Dental!
Growing up in Michigan, Dr. Dewey attended Michigan State University majoring in Biology and continued on to the University of Michigan for Dental School. Following dental school, he joined the United States Navy as a Dental Officer and did advanced training at Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia in the Advanced Education in General Dentistry (A.E.G.D.) program. Following his training Dr. Dewey became the Dental Officer (O-3) aboard the nuclear powered aircraft carrier U.S.S. Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69).
After his commitment with the United States Navy concluded, Dr. Dewey moved with his family to Portland in 2006. He owned and operated a large dental office in S.E. Portland for nearly a decade until he was forced to sell his office after sustaining injuries from a texting semi truck driver rear ending a vehicle that he was riding in. Fully recovered after almost a year of recovery, Dr. Dewey is thrilled to be back doing what he loves! We are thrilled to have Dr. Dewey join the Summit Dental team!
Dr. Dewey has two children, Nate and Nina, a dog Shadow, two pet chickens and many fish. He spends most weekends birdwatching and hiking trails in the Columbia River Gorge and other places in our beautiful state with his kids and dog. He is a huge sports fan and enjoys watching the Portland Timbers, Blazers, Detroit Lions, and Michigan State Spartans. Please help us to welcome Dr. Dewey to the Summit Dental team!

Dentistry is always five stars. Support/admin was one star this visit. My husband does not drive so I must take him to his appointments and wait in the car. Over the last couple of years it has been freezing and over 100 degrees. This week it was much better but although the appointment was finished on time, it took 40 minutes to get checked out. Really? If there are computer issues, why not call the patient to schedule those appointments. He was going to have to check the calendar with me or at home anyway. And when I called back and left a message to say some appointments were not going work, I still do not have a call back.

Dr. Dewey and his staff are terrific! All are friendly, professional, and highly competent. I am an especially high-maintenance dental patient, and they catered to my every whim. In addition, Dr. Dewey himself is an amazing dentist.

My filling he did hurt for a month, catches an enormous amount of food. And less than a year it needed to be done by someone who knew how to make contacts and no over hangs that catch and shred floss.

The dentist never feels like a great experience so when I saw that Summit Dental has basically a 5 star rating - it was a no brainer to set an appointment here when I was on the hunt. I knew by the call back I got to set my appointment up that I was in good hands. I felt listened to and heard even then. Kira started my exam and getting the X-rays done - was so good and patient with me. Dr. Dewey was so nice, gentle, professional, and caring! And then Nicole was amazing too! She was also gentle, kept making sure that i was comfortable. Everyone was so patient and friendly. I felt like I had been going there forever. Highly highly recommend to anyone. Will absolutely continue to go to Summit Dental for as long as I can!

Dr. Dewey and his Team are fantastic! Jamie at the front was so polite and nice! Donna who met me on my first visit was kind, and made me feel comfortable. Thank you Nicole for being gentle and helping me not be scared . I know I'm forgetting names but the whole team is very professional! I would highly recommend them, especially for anybody who is nervous about going to the dentist!!!
