Dr. Peter Mathison is a proud native of Fargo, North Dakota. He attended Shanley High School and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Johns University, Collegeville, MN. He attended the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. During this tenure, Dr. Mathison was elected class vice-president and also studied at the Royal Dental Hospital, University of Melbourne, Australia. He graduated in the top 20 percent of his class, and earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2002. After graduation, Dr. Mathison immediately opened Summit Center for Dentistry in Fargo.
When Dr. Mathison is away from the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Sara, and their two sons, Henrik and Harrison. In addition, he loves the outdoors, hunting, fishing, golf, as well as cheering on his beloved UND hockey team.

This place is the best!! Went in for my first appointment since my parents referred me... Amanda was my hygienist and made me laugh quite a bit :) Usually the dentist is a pretty neutral experience for me but this was highly enjoyable. Plus, they booked my followup appointment for literally the next day, so convenient!

I haven't been to the dentist in several years. I was embarrassed and felt ashamed of waiting so long. All those insecurities went away as soon as I walked through the doors. The staff is so friendly and welcoming! From the support staff, at the front desk, to the dentist! I felt comfortable and able to be myself. They explained each step and laid out several different options of treatment that would go with my life and pocket book. :) 10/10 would recommend, especially if you're a behind in your dental care or are feeling insecure!

After living out-of-state for about 8 years, I recently moved back to the area. I had an old cavity chip from a previous dentist. Summit Center for Dentistry was able to get me in in a timely manner, but more than that I was impressed with the care, warmth, and understanding. From the minute I was greeted by the receptionist, to Shelby (my dental hygienist), and Dr. Mathison, I was put at ease and knew I was in good care. Despite all the fillings I've had over the years, I can still get a little nervous about a dentist visit. They put me at ease. Everyone did a wonderful job to make me feel taken care of. I would highly, highly highly, recommend Summit.

I've gone to Dr. Pete for years, including Kristy. I've always had great care, kindness and if I have issue, they always get me in asap. Hight recommend. Everyone's friendly:)

Our whole family loves Dr. Mathison and the whole team at Summit. They treat you like family and are always so kind. If you need to get in last minute they are more than willing to accommodate you. Highly recommend them to everyone.

This is the best dentistry! Wow! This is the best experience I've ever had with a dentist. They called me right after another person canceled their appointment and got me in. Ashley and Linda were very friendly and professional. They helped me complete and understand my paperwork. Shelby took my xrays and took care of me. She read through all my paperwork and made sure every concern and issue was mentioned and taken care of. She was also very friendly and likes to crack up jokes that made the experience better. She was very professional and gave all my info to Dr. Mathison. Dr. Mathison also was very professional and immediately found my problem and gave his recommendation. He was straight to the point and showed he truly wanted to ensure that I received quality care in a timely manner. I'd like to say thank you Summit Center for Dentistry! I highly recommend anyone using Tricare/United Concordia and everyone else to come here!

I've never been comfortable at the dentist. I've had many bad experiences throughout my life when it comes to going to the dentist. But everyone at Summit is so upbeat and friendly and takes my fears into consideration. When I made my first appointment there, they asked me about previous experiences and took all those experiences into consideration to make me the most comfortable I could be! I would definitely recommend Summit to anyone looking for a great facility that will treat you with all the respect you deserve!

Over the years I have had many dentists in 4 different states. Dr. Mathison is by far the best I've been to. He and his staff are very friendly and personable and Dr. Mathison's attention to detail and quality of work is excellent! Linda is great to work with and is very patient and friendly on the phone. Dr. Mathison is also a UND Hockey fan so he deserves a 6th star! Thank you

Dr. Mathison and team have been like seeing family for more than 10 years now. They take a personal interest in our lives and share their own. I also greatly appreciate that he presents the facts on what they see, recommend treatments but NEVER push to get it done right now. The staff are all cheerful and so accommodating. I don't see anyone in our family going anywhere else!
