Originally from Anchorage, AK and a one-time Olympic hopeful in ice hockey, Dr. Summers is driven in the pursuit of fulfilling our mission to deliver unparalleled customer service in a friendly environment while providing the highest level of personalized orthodontic treatment to obtain exceptional results. Every step of his training, from Clemson University to the Medical University of SC, to the Medical College of GA has been in preparation to build an amazing orthodontic practice for all patients. Few others continue their pursuit as Dr. Summers to remain on the forefront of technology and advancements in orthodontics. He remains a Key Opinion Leader (KOL) for the orthodontic industry and a member of exclusive, prestigious groups via invitation only such as the Schulman Group and the Ormco Insiders. These distinctions are shared by approximately 100 members each worldwide, three of which are in SC, but no others in Greenville. These allow Dr. Summers to work alongside the brightest minds in the world and bring that education and technology home to the Upstate. Dr. Summers does Beta testing and FDA-approval documentation for the latest advancements and has been amongst the first in the world to introduce this technology to his patients. As such, he is sought-out lecturer and educator as a Damon System Champion. Dr. Summers is a member of all the local and regional dental and orthodontic societies and is a Fellow of the World Federation of Orthodontists.
While his career biography may be impressive, Dr. Summers is most proud of his faith and family. He is an active member in the church, been married for more than two decades, and a father of four children, two boys and two girls who are active in sports of all varieties. He will always lead with his faith and you can be assured he will make all decisions based on the notion of what he would do if your family member were one of his own. At such an active stage in his life, there is little down time! When the opportunity exists, Dr. Summers enjoys fitness, running, reading, and travel with his family.
The Three Cs as she calls them, Dr. Casss mission as an orthodontist is to provide an outstanding patient experience with unparalleled compassion and communication to create beautiful and confident smiles for all her patients. She is extremely excited to join the Summers Orthodontics family and meet you all!
Dr. Cass hails from a small town in upstate New York, which is about 90 minutes southwest of Buffalo. She grew up in the outdoors with her sister McKenzie and played a series of sports from competitive figure skating and downhill skiing to varsity sports like softball and basketball. Even back in high school, Dr. Cass knew that she wanted to be an orthodontist one day.
In search of a big southern school for the next part of her journey, she attended the University of South Carolina, where she studied finance and graduated Summa Cum Laude and with Honors from the South Carolina Honors College. From there she moved to The Big Apple to attend Columbia University in New York City for her dental training. She then moved back down south to North Carolina to attend the world-renowned Department of Orthodontics at the UNC School of Dentistry, where she was recognized as the Greg and Andrew Brooks Fellow.
Dr. Cass has received numerous awards over the years that include the Ella Marie Ewell Award and Holden Award for leadership, and others at Columbia University. While at Columbia she was published for her research on fibrocartilage in the temporomandibular joint and her latest research at UNC studying therapy dogs in orthodontics has been funded by the American Association of Orthodontics Foundation.
Outside the office Dr. Cass enjoys spending time with her soon-to-be husband, James and their dog, Farley. They love camping, hiking, fishing, as well as a good pickleball match. Dr. Cass also volunteers with Farley as a therapy dog team.
Dr. Summers is certain that you will find Dr. Cass as talented and brilliant as he does and looks forward to you meeting Dr. Cass personally. Dr. Summers and Dr. Cass work closely together to ensure that you receive the best orthodontic treatment and experience they can provide.
When I am not with my work family, I am extremely passionate about traveling! We love to discover and explore new areas and appreciate their culinary scenes. There is nothing better than a beautiful sunset and a glass of wine in hand from a new winery we discovered.
I am a very athletic and competitive person. I played softball my whole life (short stop and center field). I am the only southerner on both sides of the family. I love my family and was lucky to have a great grandmother that lived to be 108 years old.
I am currently the baby of the SO family. I was born and raised here in SC but I come from an immigrated family from Colombia, South America. When I am not with my wonderful SO Team, I enjoy spending time with my crazy family and doing anything that involves Latin culture (food, music, etc.).
I am from Greenville, SC, and am mom to two fur babies named Wynn and Honey Biscuit. When I am not with my work family, I love spending time with my family and friends, going to concerts, and relaxing by the water.
I enjoy spending most of my time with my boyfriend Matt and our German shepherd, Jaeger! Cheerleading was my favorite sport for 15 years, and I still like to spend time working out to make up for my love for pizza and Dr. Pepper!
I have a wonderful wife and two beautiful children. I served in the United States Army for a little over 8 years as a dental technician and have 9 years of experience in the field. I have a great passion for what I do, and I always try my best to reflect that in my work.
I was born in a small town in NC and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Dental Hygiene. I have an amazing daughter who is my pride and joy. She attends Anderson University where she is pursuing a degree in nursing.
