Dr. Roger Lerner has been providing care to the East Brunswick community since 1998. Dr. Lerner is known for his individualized patient care & for providing quality dental care with a gentle touch. He spends time with his patients in order to understand their dental concerns & will make sure to explain any treatment necessary. Having graduated from University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey, along with his many accreditations & continuing education, Dr. Lerner takes pride in being a highly qualified & caring dentist. He is recognized by his peers as a highly trained and skilled dentist and is often the dentist of choice, used by fellow dentists and doctors for their own personal dental care.
Dr. Lerner is certified in dental implants & is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), American Academy of Facial Cosmetics (AAFC), the Middelsex County Dental Association & is a fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (FICOI). He also served as faculty member at N.Y.U. College of Dentistry.
Annette is originally from South Jersey (Cumberland County) and returns frequently to visit her large, Irish family. Annette and her husband Kevin love to travel and the Greek Islands are their favorite! They have 2 dogs, a cat and one parrot. Annette has been in the dental field since 1984 and is a CDA/RDA for 30 years. She absolutely LOVES dentistry and 'feels it is a GREAT profession for any young person to go into.' Annette is still involved in high school career days to promote her profession.
Carmen has recently moved to New Jersey from Upstate New York. She has been a Certified Dental Assistant for 3 years and truly loves working with patients. Her favorite aspect of dentistry is not only seeing the restorative and esthetic changes but more importantly, how dentistry can change a persons smile and help them gain more confidence! Carmen enjoys running and loves OWLS! Carmen attends continuing education classes to keep up with all the latest technology in dentistry.

For quite some time I denied having a snoring problem. My wife insisted otherwise. Dr. Roger Lerner of Summerhill Dental Excellence recommended an at-home sleep test to determine if I had sleep apnea. The test revealed a mild case which, if unaddressed, could eventually have become a health issue. Dr. Lerner thought I'd do well with a customized sleep apnea appliance, a simple and comfortable oral device that fits over teeth enabling better breathing during sleep. It was also covered by my health insurance. The appliance has worked beautifully, not only for me, but also for my wife, who is now enjoying sleep uninterrupted by my snoring. Not only is Dr. Lerner a superb dentist who has the highest standards for quality and workmanship, but he and the staff are caring, kind, and sensitive to patient needs. The appliance has significantly improved my sleep, and I am very grateful to Dr. Lerner and the entire Summerhill Dental Excellence team!

I had to switch dentists due to changes in my dental plan. After some research on dentists in the area, I decided to give Dr Lerner a try in the midst of the pandemic. I am delighted with my choice. Dr Lerner and staff explain recommended treatment, answer my questions, and have as much interest in my dental health as I do.

I have been a patient of Dr. Lerner for years and every time I come in it is a great experience! Dr. Lerner is an amazing doctor and over years he restored my teeth to a beautiful smile. Since I was a child, due to a medical condition, my enamel was destroyed and my teeth and gums were deterioration. Dr. Lerner, very patiently, one project at a time, restored every tooth to a perfectly healthy one. After the last restoration part was finished, he showed me my new smile in the mirror, I couldn't believe what I saw! Haven't seen my smile so perfect since I was 16 years old. All my teeth look so natural, so artistically restored and re created, you wouldn't guess these are not natural teeth. He is keeping my gums healthy as well with frequent cleanings and targeted treatment plan. He is the most skillful and talented dentist you can imagine, very highly recommend!

Today was my son's and my first time going to Dr. Lerner and I must say, I wish I would've been recommended to this practice sooner. The overall experience was great. He takes his time explaining things. The minute you walk in you're kindly greeted by Annette. She made us feel so welcome and at peace. Then we had the pleasure of working with Joyce the dental hygienist, she is so kind and knowledgeable. Finally Dr. Lerner is very patient and takes his time listening and working out the best plan. .. I've had severe 'dental anxiety' for years, however after today's visit, I have a good feeling that this will be a positive journey. Thank you!

My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Lerner for a little while now; and have since brought my mother-in-law for some work to be done. He has state-of-the-art equipment with the knowledge and professionalism to go along with it. He is pleasant and courteous AND explains in detail the work that he will be doing. As people who genuinely care about the health of our teeth and gums, we feel fortunate to have a dentist who cares to work along side with us.

Dr. Lerner has to be the best dentist in East Brunswick! He and his staff made me feel so comfortable and couldn't have done any more to ease my fear of having my front teeth worked on, which were broken when I was in 6th grade. When I was 19 I had permanent crowns put on, and I am now 64. My current dentist said decay was starting behind the two caps and wanted to replace them. I drove 102 miles, each way, to Summerhill Dental, because I knew Dr. Lerner had the experience to give me back my smile with the least pain and I couldn't be happier.

My friend highly recommended Dr. Lerner. I am so glad I took her recommendation. Dr Lerner is extremely knowledgeable. He knew right away what I needed done. Everyone in the office was kind and friendly. At first I was afraid to go to the dentist due to concerns of covid. But the office was spotless. The measures that they take to make the office clean are outstanding. Everything is wiped down and sanitized immediately. All the steps they take made me feel comfortable and safe.

I have had several complicated situations that he helped me with and, throughout it all, he and his staff, especially Annette, have been incredibly helpful. What a great team. He really will work with you to get the results you want and he is current with all of the new and sophisticated treatments that are now available. I can tell that he loves what he does and really wants what is best for his patients.

I had been in the middle of treatment on my eye tooth prior to COVID. After COVID hit everything was put on hold because of the obvious and during that time, my dentist of 15 years retired. Although, my family and I still needed work and basic maintenance, I hadn't taken the time to establish our family with a new dentist. As luck would have it, one day my eye tooth, which was a temp, fell out. As the panic set in, I was forced to find a dentist to take me, not only as a new patient, but to get me in ASAP to fix this problem and do this all under the air of COVID. I asked around for references, called a few places and was told by all "that it would be at least 6 weeks before they could see me". Then I called Dr. Lerner's office. I had the pleasure of being greeted by Annette. Not only was she sympathetic to my situation, she squeezed me in that same day. As if the situation wasn't stressful enough, I was informed by Dr. Lerner that my post had broke in my gum and he wasn't sure he'd be able to save the tooth but would do his best. And do his best he did. He managed to remove the broken post, which was beneath the gum and replace it with a new one. Because of his skill he saved me time, money and the headache of going to a surgeon to have it removed, all with a smile. Also during that time, my husband who had never been in the office had an emergency. I immediately called Dr. Lerner's office and got Annette. Because of her knowledge of the dentistry field, she told me he needed a specialist. Because she knew that getting appointments with specialists took time, She called the specialist office directly, spoke to the staff about the issue and got him in the next day. She went out of her way to help, even though it was a service that could not be provided by their office. Everyone in the office is friendly and Professional. Dr. Lerner is a perfectionist and takes extreme pride in his work. It is with absolute confidence that I would recommend them. Your smile will be better for it!

I was referred to Dr. Lerner several years ago by a former dental hygienist. I am so happy I made the switch! From the minute you walk in his office, you are greeted by Annette, who is friendly and immediately makes you feel comfortable. If you need a cleaning or X-rays, Lisa is his Dental Hygienist. She is amazing! Besides being an excellent Dentist, Dr. Lerner is extremely friendly, knowledgeable and, might I add, A Perfectionist!!! I am the type of person who laughs a lot, but was never happy with my smile until Dr. Lerner made my teeth look absolutely perfect and natural. Should you decide to make an appointment for your dental needs, you won't be disappointed!

He knows how to make your smile perfect; I highly recommend going to him if you would like to get veneers, mine came out amazing!
