Dr. Dale Sullivan, Jr. grew up watching his father and grandfather excel in the field of dentistry, and upon graduating from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 1996, he joined them as a professional peer in their field. Dr. Sullivan and his wife Becky Arnold Sullivan will celebrate 23 years of marriage in December 2017, and have three daughters togetherAnna Jeanine, Rebecca and Virginia. In his spare time, Dr. Sullivan enjoys spending time with his friends and family, watching football and fly fishing.

Amy has worked at Sullivan Family Dentistry since 1999 as a Registered Dental Hygienist. A Nashville-native and graduate of Tennessee State University, Amy loves the close relationships she has developed with our patients and fellow team members over the years. Together Amy and her husband Greg have a daughter, Kate, and Great Pyrenees dog, Hope. In their spare time, they enjoy hiking, canoeing, and going to the beach for vacation.

Denise has worked at Sullivan Family Dentistry since 2015. Sheis one of our skilled registered dental hygienists who perform regular cleanings for patients at the practice. A graduate of Vanderbilt University's Expanded Function Dental Hygiene program, as well as Aquinas College for her undergraduate degree, Denise calls Nashville home with her daughter Josie.

Ruthie is our excellent Registered Dental Assistant and provides crucial support for our practice operations and to our patients. She is the daughter of Dr. Sullivan, Sr., sister of Dr. Sullivan, Jr., and mother of Dr. Fleenorso she is extremely experienced in working with our dentists and keeping it in the family! Ruthie's kind heart, warm personality and sense of humor helps our patients feel at home and comfortable during procedures. Ruthie and her husband Todd have been married for 34 years, and together have four grown children and two daughters-in-lawTodd and Meagan, Hunter and Natalie, Glenn and Ruth. In her spare time, Ruthie enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, genealogy, and kayaking.

Whitneyis one of our twoRegistered Dental Assistants.Whitneywas born and raised in Nashville, Tenn., and is a 2016 graduate of Tennessee College of Applied Technology in Murfreesboro. She has previously worked with corporate dental practices in the area, but is now happy to be a part of our private family practice. Whitneyalso has experience assisting during oral surgery procedureswhich will be helpful now that we are offering dental implants! She looks forward to forming good relationships with our patients and continuing to grow professionally as an assistant here at Sullivan Family Dentistry.Whitneyenjoys interacting with patients, helping them to better understand steps they can take to achieve and maintain good oral health. In her free time,Whitneyloves spending time with her family, kayaking, painting, and hiking with her boyfriend and Pyrenees Lab mix. She may only have been here 2 years,but she feels like she has been part of the Sullivan Family since the start.

Dr. Dale Sullivan, Sr. inherited Sullivan Family Dentistry from his father, Richard Hugh Sullivan who started it all in 1932. He has been a dentist with our practice since 1968, upon graduating from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tenn. Dr. Sullivan served as President of the Nashville Dental Society from 2004-2005. In 2000, Dr. Sullivan was elected for Fellowship in the College with the American College of Dentists in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Dr. Sullivan has been married to his wife Anna for 55 years, and together have three children (Anna Sullivan Bright, Ruthie Sullivan Fleenor and C. Dale Sullivan, Jr.) and nine grandchildren. Dr. Sullivan celebrated his 50th year anniversary working as a dentist in summer of 2017. Dr. Sullivan retired in November 2017 and was recently recognized at the 2018 Tennessee Dental Association annual conferencefor his many years of service. He retired to take care of his Wife Anna, who passed away in July of 2019. He now keeps himself busy baking home made pies and bread along with spending time with family. Our story begins with Richard Hugh Sullivan, Sr., known by us as Poppy. A 1932 graduate of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Dr. Richard Sullivan, Sr. started his career in dentistry as an Army dentist during World War II.

When he returned from the war, Dr. R. Sullivan, Sr. resumed private practice as he opened Sullivan Family Dentistry. The original location was in the Doctor's Building on Church Street in downtown Nashville, later moving next door to the Bennie Dillon Building. In 1968, Dr. Curry Dale Sullivan, Sr. entered the practice with his father. They moved to our current location 33 years ago in 1985. Dr. C. Dale Sullivan, Jr. joined the family practice in 1996 upon graduating from the University of Tennessee Dental School. Dr. Richard Sullivan, Sr. passed away in 1999, but both Dale, Sr. and Dale, Jr. continue to serve their patients, and the practice has maintained its strong legacy in the field of dentistry.

We now serve the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of patients from our earliest days as an operating practice. Much has changed in the field of dentistry and in the city of Nashville since Sullivan Family Dentistry first opened its doors, but our dedication to providing the best possible dental care has remained the same.
