Digital X-rays offer a huge advantage in early detection and preventive services. Advanced image manipulation and analysis, for example, allows your doctor to detect early stages of gum disease through recognition of bone level changes, or by evaluating the results against a previous treatment.

An intraoral camera is an indispensable diagnostic and educational tool. The tiny video camera moves around inside of your mouth and generates a tooth by tooth video exam of your teeth. Using an intraoral camera allows patients to better understand their dental needs by seeing what the dentist sees and then having it explained.

Lasers are a non-surgical approach to arresting the progression of periodontal disease. Following scaling and root planing, a laser is used to significantly reduce the bacterial colonies and decontaminate the infected periodontal pocket. Lasers also remove the infected tissue lining the periodontal pocket. As the infected tissue is removed, microscopic blood clots form and your body's natural healing response takes over. As you heal, the tissue reattaches to the bone and your gums return to a healthy infection-free state.

This was my first visit to this Dental Group by recommendation from my wife. It was really enjoyable. Dr. Anam Khan and her nurses are friendly, courteous, dedicated and professional. Specially the hygienist Thalia Tran is super. I am ready for my next visit

I actually enjoy going to this office. Everyone makes sure that you are comfortable and aware of what you need to have done, in order to have a nice experience. I would and have, recommended this office. I've been coming here for 6 years.

Scam. Always finds a way to cheat and make extra money. Two identical procedures, over $1000 difference. For regular cleaning, they need $355 now.

This dental office is Amazing! From the welcome in to the tech who took my X-rays. No judgement or rushing the only concern was I was relaxed and comfortable. I was told not to worry and Doctor Ra'Anaa Howard would do everything she could to get me out of pain. Once I met Dr. Howard I was completely blown away. She went above and beyond to get me out of pain and came up with a affordable treatment plan. I'm in sales and she did not try to upsell me anything I did not need. Dr. Howard's concern was to get me out of the pain that day. The best part of my visit was she listened to my concerns and explained everything in detail and provided an affordable resolution. All I can say is if you are looking for a Awesome team of professionals this is the place.

Came in a for a regular cleaning today and got my treatment from both Thalia and Dr. Howard. Both of them are fantastic! Thalia was always talking and ensuring I was fine and everything was smooth. She finished my cleaning in barely 20 minutes and I didn't feel a thing! Amazing service!!

This review is to address the horrible experience I had with their periodontist, Dr. Chakaki. I've been unable to speak with a manager about this situation due to him being out of the office, and I'm extremely upset at her lack of patient care. I initially went here for a dental emergency after having severe tooth pain and swollen gums, and I had a GREAT experience at first. I'm pregnant and have pre-existing periodontal disease. The front desk staff were so friendly and helpful, and I was able to get in that same day. The woman who did my radiographs made sure all extra precautions were met due to my pregnancy and was so nice. Dr. Howard and her hygienist, Thalia, were so great to me. They came up with a treatment plan for my infection and I was honestly treated soo well and felt safe even with my pregnancy. I had a deep cleaning and was prescribed antibiotics, and scheduled for an extraction in a couple of weeks. On my second visit, for the extraction, the front desk staff were great and made me comfortable even though my nerves were through the roof. Once I got back to the exam room and Dr. Chakaki walked in, she was immediately condescending and rude. She asked what I was there for, so I told her I needed a tooth pulled. I thought it was weird that she was asking me that - but figured maybe it was just small talk. She asked how old I was, and then said I was too young to be having these issues. I told her yes, it's genetic, my parents have these problems as well. She replied "I know what genetic means, I went to school for this" - Which, obviously, was very off putting. She then asked if I was allergic to penicillin or if I could have ibuprofen. I told her no I can't, because I'm pregnant... Which she apparently was not aware of. At this point, I was extremely uncomfortable and frustrated at the fact that she had obviously not read my chart prior to walking into that room. During my FIRST visit, I had my OB send a medical clearance and everyone knew that I was pregnant. I also brought a physical letter from my OB to the office at this visit. The office knew that I was pregnant, but Dr. Chakaki was completely unaware. She then told me that she needs clearance from my OB - which I told her I have, and it should be in my file. Thank goodness I knew that I couldn't have certain drugs and spoke up about it, because I'm unsure what would have happened otherwise. THIS is when she finally looked at my file and decided she did not want to pull my tooth because I was still in my first trimester. I was 13+3 weeks at this time, so just about a week before my second trimester. I totally understand her taking precaution, but I was told that this tooth NEEDED to come out to prevent infection spreading. I asked why I was even there if the office knew how far along I was and had scheduled this knowingly, and she became argumentative and told me that I was only there for an exam with her..... Now, when I showed up that day, I signed all of the consent forms for the extraction, and even PAID for the extraction beforehand. She couldn't give me an answer except that I was only there for a consultation with her. I was clearly upset at this point, so she offered to call in another round of antibiotics to my pharmacy, which I agreed to. Fast forward to a few days later and I started to get another pain in my tooth and gum swelling. I called my pharmacy to make sure that the antibiotics were ready to pick up - and they were never even called in. I called the dental office and the woman on the phone was very compassionate. She spoke to Dr. Howard, who approved the prescription and it was called in for me right away. My tooth is still very painful and my gums are clearly infected, but I'm thankful for Dr. Howard and the other staff. I felt not only uncomfortable, but unsafe with Dr. Chakaki, and I will unfortunately be finding another dental office due to this experience.

I came in for a routine cleaning again, which is fully covered by insurance. The cleaning itself was ok, just like last time. But during the review for the cost, they wanted to charge me almost $300. They recommended a night guard , which I've, never ever had a dentist mention I needed till today. She said its not bad but why not get it for later use. The estimate for the night guard was $900 to my insurance..ridiculous. A night guard is NOT $900 FOR ANYONE PEOPLE. They are upcharging it and making you pay. Also oral cancer screenings have a charge now? I have gotten one every year with all my previous dentists, and never been charged. They are always fully covered. They did not ask me if the cost was okay or any sort of explanation. I was able to decline because I had some sense. They dentist was in for like 1 minute max. Also they recommended a irrigation, ( not covered) telling me its a deeper cleaning with chemicals. So tell my why It was just a water-pik used that they used for like 10 seconds. I can't imagine how many other people this office has ripped off. DO BETTER people. Don't assume people just have money to waste on unnecessary recommendations.

Received a random bill for $50 in the mail. They didn't mention anything during my appointment or afterwards about it. I called and asked and they said "the insurance company covered your deductible this time". Clearly trying to just steal $50.

I have been going to Sugar Land Dental for many years. The staff has always been very friendly. All though I seem to get a different doctor almost every visit, but they all seem to be knowledgeable and friendly. I do get the same hygienist and she is very thorough and always fun to talk to. Would recommend this place.

Sugar Land Dental Group and Orthodontics is one of the most professional and trustworthy dental care companies. As a new patient I was treated with the utmost respect and gave me a sense on privacy towards my health care. They work with many different insurances and gave me the best possible rates for my care. I would highly recommend this company to my closest friends and family.

I am new in town but brought my 18 xrays from previous dentist (from 6 months ago) with me to have my teeth cleaned at Sugarland Dental Group. When I made my appointment with Dr. Khan, I told the receptionist that I didn't want to do a new set of xrays because I was having no problems and didn't want more exposure to radiation. However, when I arrived for my appointment, I never saw Dr. Khan. They pulled a switcheroo on me and instead, Dr. Howard came in and refused to clean my teeth unless I submitted to a new set of 18 xrays. Dr. Howard comes off as greedy because she wanted to bill for new xrays when she had a recent set right in her hands. I left and will find a dentist who at least looks in my mouth before deciding that I need 18 xrays.

Great experience today. Had a horrible experience with a different dentist in the area. The staff was professional, calm, and helped me figure out the best things to do for my teeth. I would highly recommend going here. ( I did have to wait a long time but I'm assuming that's because I decided to get things done a few days before Christmas, they're busiest time of the year)
