Dr. Betsy Ulrich earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Northwestern University. Following dental school, she completed a two-year post-doctorate residency at Northwestern, earning her specialty certificate in orthodontics and a masters degree. At Northwestern, Dr. Ulrich was named the Alpha Omega Scholar for attaining the highest academic standing in her class and received several other awards for outstanding achievement.

Dr. Ulrich opened Sugar Creek Orthodontics, P.C. in Lincoln in 2001 following an associateship with Dr. Richard Sikora in Normal, Illinois. She moved her Lincoln practice to its current location 2006 after completely renovating the building to create a spacious, comfortable office for her patients.

Dr. Ulrich is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists and the Illinois Society of Orthodontists. She is active in state and local outreach projects, having served as chairperson of the dental societys Childrens Dental Health Month Committee. Dr. Ulrich served as President of the Illinois Society of Orthodontists for the term year 2016-17.

Dr. Ulrich was born and raised in Lincoln, where her father was a family physician for over 30 years. She attended college at the University of Kentucky and the University of Colorado where she earned her bachelors degree. After living in Chicago and completing their educations, Dr. Ulrich and her husband, Ron Tomczak, chose to settle in Central Illinois. They live in rural Logan County where they have embarked upon a long-term prairie and woodland restoration project on their family farm. Dr. Ulrich is an animal lover, enjoys gardening and loves to cook.

Dr. Ulrich and Ron have two children, Diane and Warren. Ron manages the practice. They have truly created a family atmosphere at Sugar Creek Orthodontics, P.C. and enjoy treating patients like family as well!

Professional: I have worked with Dr. Sikora and now for Dr. Ulrich for 32 years, taking care of initial patient visits, preparing diagnostic records and explaining treatment options. I make sure, as I meet with each patient, I listen to their questions and concerns. I want everyone to feel comfortable and confident from beginning to end. After all, a smile is a lifetime investment. Personal: My husband Tim and I celebrated our 43rd wedding anniversary recently. Interests: I enjoy reading, cooking and the outdoors with our four fun grandkids.

Professional:I have worked in the dental field for 23 years. I started as a Receptionist in a dental office, trained to become a Dental Assistant, then Orthodontic Assistant, Office Manager and now a Treatment Coordinator since April of this year for Dr. Betsy Ulrich. I worked for Dr. Betsy as an assistant back in 2010 for several years and I am thrilled to be back! I have truly enjoyed the process of becoming a Treatment Coordinator, getting to know the patients and their stories. I love working with kids and am so grateful to be working at Sugar Creek Orthodontics where they truly care about the patients! Personal: Born and raised in central IL. Graduated from Flora High School. Associates degree from Wabash Valley College in Mt. Carmel, IL and a Bachelors in Christian Business Administration from Lincoln Christian University in Lincoln, IL. Professional: Graduated from MTI Dental Assisting program in 2015. I started off in general dentistry where I worked for 5 years and decided to come to Orthodontics and Im so happy I did. Certifications: Dental Radiography, Coronal Polishing, Pit and Fissure Sealants, CPR & First Aid, Sedation certification Personal:Born in Dallas, TX. Moved to Illinois when I was 14. I got married in 2015 to my high school sweetheart. We have 2 wonderful children. Interest:Enjoy anything outside. 4 wheeling, boating, fishing, bonfires. Love spending time with family as well.
