Suffolk Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics treats all children, including any kids who may have special needs like autism, cerebral palsy, and varying levels of cognitive ability. Being a pediatric dentist isn't just caring for teeth. It also means being aware of the most important components of child psychology in order to keep visits friendly, fun, and enjoyable.
In 1976, Dr. Stephen Gold started one of the first pediatric dental practices in Suffolk County with a staff of 6 people. The colors of the time were blue, green, and bright yellow. A 4-year-old boy commented that the yellow chair looked like a giant banana. Hence the banana chair was born. Since then, our pediatric patients have taken over one million rides on the iconic banana chair. Suffolk Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics has grown from that small office to 5 busy locations in Port Jefferson Station, Wading River, Sayville, and Medford, NY.
Dr. Coniglio grew up in Bethpage, NY. After graduating with a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania, he received his D.D.S. degree from Case Western Reserve University and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He earned his specialty degree in Pediatric Dentistry at Lutheran Medical Center where he was Chief Resident.
In addition to being president of the Suffolk Pediatric Dentistry Study Club, Dr. Coniglio is also on the attending staff of St. Charles Hospital and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Suffolk County Pediatric Dental Society, the New York Dental Society, and the American Dental Association. He is happily married and a devoted father to his 3 young daughters, Bridgette, Gillen, Tess, and his son, Finn.
Dr. Eliades graduated from Seton Hall University with a B.S. in Biology and earned a degree in Physiology from Fairleigh Dickenson University. She was awarded her D.M.D. degree and graduated with honors from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey Dental School. She was also honored with the New Jersey Society of Dentistry for Children Award and inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society.
She served as Chief Resident in Pediatric Dentistry at Long Island Jewish Medical Center-Schneider Childrens Hospital where she also received specialty training. Currently, she is on the attending dental staff at St. Charles Hospital, a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and has practiced Pediatric Dentistry in Suffolk County since 1994.

My son had a fear of going to the dentist like most kids. When we found Suffolk Pediatric Dentistry, he was slightly nervous. But upon meeting the staff and the Dentists he felt comfortable. This office is clean the staff is so nice. The dentist are phenomenal! They have patience with the children and they truly care! I recommend this practice to anyone with children!

This pediatric dental office is a truly wonderful experience for young children. Going to the dentist is no longer a scary experience. My granddaughter looks forward to going. They are kind and explain everything they're doing. Plus, when they finish they get a little gift!

Today my 9 year old had 3 cavities filled and a crown put in. This office is beyond spotless and friendly! From the moment she walked into the room nervous and all she was quickly out at ease by the caring staff at the Sayville office. We recently switched to this dentist after a very traumatic experience and My anxiety was high with what to expect. I couldn't be happier with their service and my daughter left with a smile on her face without one tear. Hands down best peds dentist we have experienced!

The office is beautiful, staff is always friendly and polite (especially our favorite hygenist Crystal!), and our appointment started on-time and went smoothly! Staff is fantastic with kids, especially when they are not fans of getting their teeth checked! I recommend this office to everyone I know with kids!

Amazing experience in this office, from answering my call before open office hours, to outstanding help at the front desk upon arrival and departure.. super accommodating with appointment time, to the most thorough dentist dr.joe! I went here after not having the best experience at my daughters regular pediatric dental office , and boy am I happy I decided to make the switch ! Office is also super CLEAN and updated inside. All around love this office and so happy to be returning here for the rest of my three year olds future dental visits.

Dr. Joe was incredible . This was my first time taking my daughter to a dentist visit I was nervous how she was going to react having treatment done . I couldnt have asked for a better dr to do it . He was so patient , kind , and talked us right through everything he was doing , and made my daughter feel safe which was the most important part ! The dental assistant was great as well ! made sure my daughter was calm and very kind . I am so glad to have come here and my daughter is not scared or anxious to come back !

My goodness where to begin. Our 6 yr old princess Tina has anxiety. This was her first oral surgery procedure. Not only did Dr. lyn perform perfectly, but her assistants where calm sweet and supportive. My children will be with them forever . Thank you so much tor being what we needed!!!

I just have to say I love this new dentist and his team that I decided to start taking my 3 kids too a few months back.They are just the sweetest people you will ever meet. They make you feel at home. My daughter went their for the first time and they were great with her. If you're looking for a pediatric dentist office I highly recommend them you won't regret it.

A truly professional, kid friendly and loving personel. I used to go to the Port Jefferson location but now that they have another location in Sayville, I have started going there since it is closer. The office is spotless, everything is brand new and beautiful. But most importantly, they treat my kids as one of their own. I love the personel & the new location. I never dread going there. We took our 20 month old son here recently and had a great experience. Everyone is so nice and the office is beautiful and very clean. The hygienist was extremely patient while cleaning my crying toddler's teeth first thing in the morning! We will definitely continue to use them for all of our needs through the years!
