Dr Lopez was great, all the reviews about him are true. He is very educated in the dental field, BUT the young man they chose to do the oral surgery was not a great experience. I have had a extraction before with a company in the past and have never had the pain I have had with Suffolk family dentistry. It started when the surgeon was so aggressive with my jaw I had to hold my one head so he could use his weight to pull out my tooth. Afterwards they tell you to take Tylenol and a ibuprofen. That's it. I spent a full two weeks of just pain at a level where it was hard to work and concentrate. I found out later after he told me he didn't cut my jaw that he actually did, no stitches or anything just a open wound with a extreme amount of pain where I felt it was better to have just kept the bad tooth and deal with the pain I normally had. I truly felt it wasn't needed for him to be so aggressive, felt like he was in a rush, after the surgery I was getting pieces of my tooth that he crushed with plyers come through my gums weeks after the surgery

My son had his first appointment there today (he's 12) with Dr. Lopez. We had a phenomenal experience from check in all the way to check out. Dr. Lopez and the assistant were great with him. They explained everything that they were doing, step by step and answered all of our questions. I highly recommend them.

Initial staff is friendly, but when faced with customers that know dental guidelines & choose to use consumer rights, they become stereotypical & assume because you refuse services that you can't afford it. They offered additional fluoride treatment & when I refused, Dr. Lopez threatened to kick my husband & I out of his practice if we didn't abide by his recommendation. Though the service that he offered for an additional charge is only recommended if the patient desires & has no scientific evidence that it prevents cavities in adults. They were concerned about my financial ability to pay $15.00, when I should have been questioning his financial ability to utilize appropriate staff. Instead of posing dental assistants as dental hygienist, who polish dirty teeth before the dentist examine your teeth or remove plaque or tarter. That is a disgusting way to practice that I have never encountered at any dentist I have seen in multiple states that are more progressive than VA. Would not recommend this dentist ever.

I starting coming to Dr Lopez after a dental emergency that he helped me with. He is very gentle and was very good to me, however, he has since become very busy and I had to wait a whole year for a 6 month cleaning. When I was finally able to get there and let them know I had a painful tooth, a cavity was found and they cannot fit me in to fill the cavity for another 5 months even after telling them I was in pain. Unacceptable!! Response was pretty much, oh well...

Staff was all amazing! Going to a dentist is a nerve wracking feeling for me but Dr. Lopez and his staff all made me feel so at home. I would highly recommend this practice!!!! Definitely going back for any future needs.

Doctors Lopez and Haley are the #1 dental providers I have ever had the pleasure of being a patient of. They can be proud of their staff from the ladies who greet you at the front desk to the Dental Assistants who take your x-rays and expertly assist the doctors. It's so refreshing not only be treated respectfully and professionally, but with kindness and humanity. These folks set the standard for others to follow. I am so blessed to have them as my providers!

I've only been there twice..And I've been satisfied both times..The office is clean..Before you enter the back to be seen ,your temperature has to be taken..Everyone is so nice and polite..

I had my first initial visit and ever since then nobody answers the phone nor returns vmail messages. I eventually messaged their FB page and was told to come in because they are busy. Well its not that easy for me to just come in. I think its very unprofessional. Im just trying to schedule a appt for future visit. I suppose they dont want the clientele.

Doctor Lopez and his staff are absolutely amazing. They truly care about your experience . They are very professional and knowledgeable. They take the time to explain every single thing. The dental hygienist also make sure you are comfortable. My first cleaning , I informed them I had a sore tooth . Mr. Lopez apologized for my pain and immediately gave me treatment options . The hygienist was also extra careful around that tooth. I felt so relieved and comfortable. At Suffolk Family Dentistry you are more than a patient, you are family !

Summary: Not a bad place, but you can do better. Experience: Been going here a bit over a year. Liked the Dentist and saw them for a few cleanings, but they were booked out 2 months for a filling. When I showed up 2 months later they said my Appointment had been given away because I didn't respond to the confirmation text they had sent (I thought it was just a reminder. Oops). I was offer a chance to reschedule, with the next available appointment being almost 2 months away yet again. Opinion: Dr. Lopez and the Hygienists were always great, but do yourself a favor and find a place where you can get your issues taken care of in a timely manner.

I had the BEST experience with Dr. Lopez! I try to avoid the dentist at all cost but Dr. Lopez changed that! I have never felt so comfortable. He explained everything in depth before he did it, had a great demeanor, and was just overall a very nice person. This was my first time at this office and I look forward to continuing my dental health with.

The company that I worked for used this provider and I never had a problem. Once the pandemic took place and I was no longer working with the company I decided to gain dental insurance myself using them again on my own. The front desk receptionist was so warm and helpful and clearly explained everything I needed to know now that I have to do things on my own. I recommend this highly professional establishment to everyone.

I normally post simple reviews " I been here " or I like this place. However today me and my daughter had dentist appointments. I absolutely LOVE " Suffolk Family Dentistry", this is not the normal dentist office. From the time you walk in the door, your greeted with a smile. The Techs are amazing, friendly and patient.Dr Lopez, Darne, Cree, Yancel and Nikki, the most down to earth Dr, he explains each and every step as he goes. Dr Lopez takes his time, he makes sure you completely understands the process. You won't leave without a complete understanding of what happen and what you need to do to for all your future dental needs and to make smile glow! If you have children , they are great with kids too. My daughter loves coming here!! Book your appointment, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!! Smil

We are a military family, with moving comes finding all new Healthcare providers...dental included. So glad we chose this one! Front desk staff is always kind and explains everything. Techs are all great too! We went a couple weeks ago and my daughter and son couldn't stop talking about how nice their techs were. Of course, Dr. Lopez is great too. If I ever have any questions he makes sure to explain every detail and in a way I can actually understand. He also makes my kids feel at ease and explains every instrument that he will be using and that definitely helps my 5 yr old! This office will be hard to replace when it's time for us to move again. Thank you for taking such good care of our family!
