The American Board of Orthodontics (ABO) has been in existence since 1929. This elite team of educators and professionals works together to examine all applicants seeking board-certification, and judges their knowledge and performance by rigorous standards.

To be eligible for board certification through the American Board of Orthodontics, one must be a licensed orthodontist at present. This means the individual has already obtained their dental degree from a four-year accredited school, and has completed an orthodontic residency for an additional two to three years.

To receive board-certification, the orthodontist must first pass a written exam. After this, he or she must present actual patient case reports and exhibit knowledge and skill during a clinical assessment. If their performance is satisfactory, they are granted board-certification. To maintain this recognition, orthodontists must be re-certified through the ABO every ten years.

When a doctor is board-certified, it means he or she is dedicated to the utmost level of care. It is a representation of their hard work, so that their colleagues and community can know they are committed to excellence.

We absolutely love this office! Dr. Taylor is very caring and compassionate with his patients and their families. He has been very meticulous with my daughter's treatment plan. And the office staff is just as amazing! They make each part of the treatment process as enjoyable as possible. My 10 year old will need to be evaluated for braces soon and I can't imagine taking him to anyone else!

This is a great place to go for braces. They always took great care of my son. They seemed fast and efficient. I had an emergency once late evening, they met me and my son, and took care of the problem. I would recommend them.

My son got his braces here and they did a great job-- very thorough...if it looked even remotely like teeth were moving or whatever, they were immediately on it. We tended to have Meagan when he was seen and she was great but even when he saw the other girls they were all pleasant and took the time to chat with him, see how his day was and were really kind He has finally gotten them off- his teeth look great! Very happy with the process

My daughter and I absolutely love Smile Orthodontics! As a parent, I have worn braces, as well as, my older son, so I've actually had the opportunity to experience other orthodontists in the past. With that being said, I can truly say that Dr. Taylor, Dr. Hearne and the staff are phenomenal! From the very moment that you step into their office, until you exit, they display nothing but, professionalism, compassion, respect, patience and amazing knowledge! Great service. Doctor Taylor was very particular in the best way to make sure my teeth and bite would be the best they could in the future. Taylor and Meagan were also great! They both explained things well and Meagan was very gentle when getting molds.

Every time we go they get you to the back immediately! Everyone is extremely nice! Two times I broke something with my hardware. I called and they immediately took me in. I love going here! Staff is awesome!! I would highly recommend going here!!

My experience at this office was very pleasant. My son and I were greeted with a smile and the atmosphere was very warm, friendly, inviting and most of all nerve calming...lol My son has been very nervous about getting his braces but the introduction lesson of his new hygiene care world was nicely given and details were clearly explained. Being a patient here has started this process off on a positive note.

They have a great team! Today my son got braces put on and they spent an entire hour going over the process, procedures, hygiene requirements and costs. My son was very nervous and they took extra steps to make sure he was comfortable and could ask questions. Braces are such a big investment, you need to trust that the people doing the work care about your concerns and act in you and your child's best interest. You can trust this team! I had a rough start the day I got my braces on about 2-3 weeks ago because I felt it was lack of communication with the first point of contact as to what was going on. Then I got introduce to Stephanie. She turned that whole negative start into an awesome,relax visit. Thank you Stephanie for being so detailed with what you were about to do. Very sweet and compassionate young lady. Excellent customer service skills,with that you will go a long way! The most important thing she did was introduce herself instead of just jumping in my mouth as the previous young attempted to do. I look forward to seeing her my next visit.

I have a difficult situation going on and today I was there for 3 and a half hours. Through it all, I had a team of the utmost courteous and professional staff that you could imagine. Both physicians (Dr. Hearne and Dr. Taylor), as well as their assistants worked diligently to get my issue resolved. They even consulted with my specialist and told me they would be on standby if I needed anything. If you need orthodontic treatment, this is the only place I would recommend to anyone. My daughter will need braces in the next couple years and no one else but Smile Orthodontics will be seeing her. They make me enjoy my braces. Thank you to the whole office for all you do.
