I owe a great deal of thanks to Dr Patel and his staff for I believe - without exaggeration - changing my life. I have had severely limited jaw opening since I was a child, which had gone unmentioned for years by numerous health professionals, until I finally went to physical therapy due to a sudden barrage of different symptoms. My physical therapist told me that I had TMJ which was causing a lot of strain on my neck and recommended me to see Dr Patel. After starting treatment with my appliance, I noticed a difference near instantaneously. I no longer had headaches, ringing in my ears, neck pain, jaw popping (things that I didn't even know were from my TMJ in the first place). Within a week of wearing the appliance, my mouth was able to open wider, and I am incredibly happy to say that I was once at 21mm and am now in the mid 30's!! I can open my mouth, eat and talk normally and go to the dentist without unbearable pain!! I never thought this was possible. I was shocked by the outcome of the treatment and I can really describe it as nothing short of magic... I never imagined I could say this, but I can honestly say that now, I am starting to forget what TMJ pain ever even felt like. I have never had a healthcare professional truly HELP me as much as Dr. Patel has. He is incredibly knowledgeable, knew instantly how to identify what was wrong, and I believe that he knows how best to help every patient with their different problems. In addition, his staff deserves a huge shoutout!! They are my favorite and always exude such genuine kindness and warmth! I could not possibly recommend Dr Patel enough to anyone. My best advice is do not wait any longer to stop your pain!!

I went to my ENT I told him I wanted to get a mouthguard because I'm still having so much mouth pain in jaw pain an ear pain and I need somebody to help with facial pain more. He tells me there is a facial pain specialist he refers his patients to and they deal with mouth guards, pain management, even Botox for pain. So I'm thinking, Great! Go ahead and give me both referrals please . So I take the referral For the pain specialist out to the car and call. I do this whole lengthy interview for intake and she asks me what my availability is.. surprisingly she has an appointment as soon as tomorrow so I'm really excited. Then she asks me for my credit card. She tells me it's $195 to book the appointment and I asked if that was for x-rays or what it was for she said no it's just for the doctors time. So I said would you want my CT in my x-rays from yesterday from the oral surgeon? And she said no we don't except other x-rays or CT's from other doctors he's gonna wanna do new ones and that'll be $595 the day of your visit must be paid that day you can use your flexible spending account if you would like. I said well what about insurance? And she said we are completely out of network with all insurance. This is dr is probably great option if your are dumb and rich. Mouth guards are covered 80% by BCBS poo dental and most visits only require each 20% copay

I made the mistake of visiting this place when I was at the height of my TMJ pain and thought I had no other options. While the staff was very friendly and treatment plan was clearly explained, I felt that the doctor scared me into believing I'd find myself in an emergency room with my jaw stuck in an open position (he told me a horror story of a former patient). It worked and I was terrified. He mentioned that had I had braces as a child, I would not have these issues, but that there was a minimal chance of me getting relief from braces now. He said something to the effect of, no orthodontist in this state could help me for what I need, but he might be able to find someone in time. I signed the paperwork and paid them $5,550 (via their financing), hopeful that my problems would be resolved. Fast forward a few months later, after driving 26 miles to their office multiple times, wearing a giant appliance that made my range of motion better (that's all they really checked) I have a consult with my daughter's orthodontist. They tell me I DO have options for braces and they have successfully treated adults with TMJ issues. Also, lucky for me, adult orthodontia is covered in my dental benefits (Dr. Patel's treatment was barely covered - only about $900). I decided to get the braces (Invisalign) and asked them to coordinate with Dr. Patel's office so that I'm not completely losing the ~$4,600. Orthodontist said they tried calling, but Dr. Patel's office said they were never contacted. Doesn't matter at this point anyway. At my last check-up at Dr. Patel's office, they said that since I got the aligners, there's nothing they can do for me. So, I'm continuing to be on their payment plan through next year and will receive no additional treatment. As far as how I feel after wearing Invisalign for 2 months and not the appliance - coupled with jaw exercises that I found on YouTube and one that Dr. Patel sent me home with, my range of motion is good and my pain is minimal. Whether I really needed the appliance to be where I am today will remain a mystery, but I can confirm that I'm fine without it. To sum things up, my advice is to see multiple specialists, get many opinions if you can BEFORE you sign up for a treatment plan and agree to pay thousands of dollars to any one place. Don't make decisions out of fear and desperation. Dr. Patel's staff is incredibly nice - so friendly. I hope they get paid well since they probably bankrupt their patients. It's unfortunate that it worked out this way. *UPDATE * I reached out to their office several months back and spoke with the individual who likely wrote the cheerful response to my review. I asked that they work with me on my remaining balance since I had no intention of ever returning due to my lack of trust in their information and recommendations. I was told they would "take it back to the doctor". I hoped they would actually take some responsibility (I always hope to have my faith in humanity restored), but I was not at all surprised that they never called me back. As of today, I've paid the full balance of my financing, which I had let go through the whole 0% term in hopes they'd credit me something. I reiterate to any sufferer of TMJ pain - seek many opinions before signing up for any treatment plan and paying a large upfront fee. This is how they take advantage of you - with your pain.

For several months before going to Dr. Patel I had been experiencing a lot of pain when chewing and trying to eat in general. I would constantly hear clicking and popping noises upon opening and closing my mouth and I had a very limited range of motion. Within the first month of wearing the appliance provided to me by Dr. Patel there was a drastic relief in the pain I was experiencing and now I am 4 months into treatment experiencing no pain and very minimal jaw clicking sounds. I had seen a TMJ specialist before Dr. Patel and by choosing to proceed treatment with Dr. Patel and his staff I saved a notable amount of money. I highly recommend services with Dr. Patel and staff who are extremely friendly and accommodating.

Dr. Patel has a very unique approach to treating TMJ and the success from it shows, ie: ME! He was able to connect the dots between a variety of my symptoms, got to the root cause of the problem, and was able to help treat them .... This is after I've visited many other specialists, doctors, etc. and each one only promoted surgery options. Dr Patel on the other hand was of the opinion surgery was a last-resort, and rather, helped decrease all my pain in a matter of weeks! LOVING the results I've been seeing from this place! I HIGHLY recommend his practice for TMJ needs!!

My headaches are gone after just a few weeks of treatment from Dr Patel. Would highly recommend this office! The Dr and Staff are great and would always go above and beyond to help make sure everything was clear and forthcoming. Didn't expect my treatment results would show up so quick even though he said that was a possibility, but am not complaining - I'm glad they did!

I am an opera singer that came to Dr. Patel during the pandemic with headaches. I had seen 3 doctors prior that couldn't diagnose my problem. Finally my dentist referred me to Dr. Patel. He clearly explained why the headaches were a result of TMJ even though I never experienced grinding, popping or jaw pain. I did gain some more space in my bite and the headaches quickly subsided. I highly recommend Dr. Patel and his staff. They are a very kind team of people who ultimately desire to have their patients have a pain free life. All singers should see him if they suspect they have jaw issues and pain.

Had terrible jaw pain and popping for years. Within a couple weeks of getting my appliance and using it everyday the popping and pain stopped. My jaw function has improved drastically and I am also sleeping much better. The treatment plan worked phenomenally and was well worth the cost. Dr. Patel and his staff are courteous and knowledgeable, I couldn't recommend this practice any more highly!

I started coming here around May of 2020 with pretty bad TMJ. It turns out that the cartilage in my jaw on both sides slipped out and was blocking my jaw from fully opening, and you can imagine how painful eating, talking, or even just existing was. My dentist told me that braces would help and that I wouldn't grind my teeth while they were moving - that was not true. 6k and 2.5 years of no night guard (but lovely teeth) later my jaw was worse than ever. I tried the best mouth guard the dentist had, another 500 down the drain. Absolutely nothing helped and it seemed to only get worse. Finally I decided it was time to see a specialist. Not going to lie, it's expensive. It was 6.5k for me, plus an MRI, but in weeks I got relief that I've been trying to get for literally decades. I got a mouth guard that I wore 24/7 except at meal times for a few months, and within a month the pain drastically improved. My jaw was previously locked up like the muscles had a death grip on my bite and I could barely eat, and it finally helped my jaw relax. After about 3 months I wasn't progressing as much as the doctor would like (even though I was pleased) so he recommended physical therapy. The physical therapist he sends you to is a miracle worker. Now I'm only wearing it at night and if my jaw acts up I can wear it more often, but I finally have more functionality of my jaw than I thought I ever would. Short story - there's a bit of a sticker shock and if you're used to what your dentist quotes you, you might be tempted to pass. But if you've tried that route and you're still in pain you know deep down that those mouth guards are like a bandaid on a bullet wound.

Dr. Patel is amazing. I was diagnosed with TMJ in 2002. He assisted me with a mouth guide to align my jaw correctly and I have been able to maintain my health since. My appliance was accidentally thrown away in 2011 and he was able to make a new appliance. I just had a check up and things are still in a great situation. I highly recommend Dr. Patel for TMJ. He knowledge has allowed me to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Dr Patel is incredible! His knowledge base of TMJ is exceptional and he has clearly dedicated much time & effort in honing his craft and becoming an absolute expert at it, and I'm so grateful for it. I rely on the TMJ appliance he made for me and it's helped me so much in alleviating pain and discomfort in my jaw as well as with severe teeth clenching, and as a result has provided better sleep from it. Cannot sing praises for him enough, as well as for the awesome office staff!! I highly recommend his office without hesitation

It has now been one year with my appliance and I'm truly a different person. I no longer have any limited mouth mobility, tension in my neck or shoulders, sleep issues, or jaw pain. Visiting Dr.Patel was the best thing I have done for myself. The staff is always so wonderful and Dr. Patel is one of the few Drs I don't dread seeing. Thank you for your wonderful treatment, care, and customer service.
