Dr. Frank Stroud graduated from Sheldon High School in Eugene, and continued his education at the University of Oregon, graduating with a bachelor of science in biology and double major in chemistry.He furthered his education at the Marquette University School of Dentistry and University of North Carolina Chapel Hill to complete his doctor of dental science degree.
Dr. Stroud returned to Oregon and practiced in the Portland area for several years while also teaching part time at Oregon Health Sciences University. Because of his love of education, he began working with the faculty practice at the OHSU school of dentistry and instructing dental students full time. He was well-loved and respected by students and faculty alike for his gentle and comprehensive approach to dentistry, his knowledge and concern for patient health.Students voted Dr. Stroud as their favorite instructor for several years running, and the Oregon AGD awarded him Instructor of the Year in 2008.
Dr Stroud feels that increasing his knowledge base and interacting with other dentists regarding practices and advancements in a variety of dental fields, helps him best cater to his patients needs.He continues to return to the classroom both as an instructor and student.Though he studies many aspects of dentistry, he is primarily focused on the challenge of implant dentistry. He helps coordinate and instructs other dentists in a nationally-recognized implant dentistry course. He is also inspired by the great success he has seen in patients undergoing TMJ therapy. He meets regularly with two independent study groups that discuss emerging techniques in resolving TMJ issues.
After 15 years of teaching and practicing in Portland, Dr. Stroud returned to his hometown to raise his family and serve the community where his passion for dentistry began. His journey into dentistry was first sparked when, as many of us do, he got braces.In middle school, as his teeth began to shift, he realized what a healthy, functional set of teeth does for ones well being. From then on, was focused on educating himself to reach the goal of helping people achieve that Full Mouth Smile.
When hes not in his office or continuing to learn new ways to help his patients, you might find Dr. Stroud out and about riding his bike, working with his son's scout troop, or just enjoying a concert or play.

Thank you, Frank Stroud, for the very expensive lesson in trusting a provider's opinion on necessary procedures and confirming coverage with my insurance myself. A single Google search to research the recommended frequency of the surgery and a single call to my insurance company to confirm coverage would have saved me thousands. For other current or potential patients reading this, if a provider tells you that a procedure is covered by your insurance, especially an optional, very expensive surgery, you should ALWAYS call your insurance company to confirm coverage yourself. Know that a provider is not motivated to provide you accurate information because they get paid either way. Honestly, I have no idea why he suggested and then heavily inferred the necessity and urgency of the services he provided. It makes me feel like he missed his calling as a cars salesman or something. Personally, I prefer dentists that are good at taking care of my teeth, not ones that are good in upselling services. Thank you! I will never make that mistake again.

I've received my dental care here since Dr. Larsen was the dentist back when I was a teenager. I'm now in my late 40s and Dr. Stroud has been here for a long time. How long? At least ten? Fifteen? My parents and son also come here for their dental care. Over the years I've needed some work done to keep my teeth healthy, and go every six months for my cleanings. They keep visits easy, low-stress, and high-quality. No up-selling or pressure to have procedures unless it is important for your health. That said, I HAVE received teeth whitening and am happy with the options and results. Most of all I'm happy that they take patient anxiety and comfort seriously. They do their best to make your appointment comfortable. Thank you Frank, Alicia, Laurie and Stacy!

I have been receiving dental care from Dr. Stroud and his staff more many years. They are always very professional and very kind. Alicia, our hygienist has all the best qualities for her profession- meticulous, knowledgeable, patient, calm, friendly and funny. I never dread going to the dentist and my teeth always feel much better after my appointment.

My family has been going to Dr. Stroud's office since he opened and feel he and the team are absolutely the best. They care about us as individuals and go above and beyond to ensure we have the best dental care we want. Our children are now adults and have commented since they have moved out of the area that they haven't found the same level of care in their new 'dental' home. I typically don't like dentists, but Dr Stroud and his entire team is great! He's personable, knows what he's doing and just makes your visit easier. His assistants are awesome and super nice! I would honestly recommend anyone to come here if they need a dentist!

I've been going to this dental practice for many, many years. Dr. Stroud is the 3rd dentist I've seen. I appreciate his and Alisha's (the hygeniest) thoroughness, helpfulness and friendly demeanor. they make an unpleasant experience much more bearable. And they take great care of my teeth. Highly recommended.

How many people can say they love their dentist! Dr. Stroud is one of the kindest and most gentle dentist I have ever been to. He is concerned and knowledgeable in all treatments for dental issues. My entire family sees Dr. Stroud now. I would be remiss not to mention the WONDERFUL staff that works in this office! They are welcoming, concerned and efficient! I wish I would have found this office twenty years ago!

Dr. Stroud is GREAT. Very patient, as is the rest of the staff. All very pleasant and helpful. They really take their time, never felt rushed. You can't go wrong here. If you're looking for a new dentist THIS is THE place. I'm a new patient and was recommend by a friend. Couldn't be happier.
