There is no doubt that a dentistry gene exists in the Streitz Family because four of us have become dentists! The journey started over 60 years ago when Dr. Tom Streitz built his first dental practice in Joliet.Dr. Tom had an amazing passion for dentistry and spent six decades treating patients and developing close relationships with them over the years.Dr. Tom retired at the age of 82, but he still visits the office often! Streitz Dental is now run byDr. Danand his sons,Dr. Dan JrandDr. Dave. We are proud to be a family-owned dental practice where patient-centered care comes first.To make sure that we are providing our patients the best and most advanced treatments available, we have taken 1,000+ hours of advanced continuing education courses beyond our dental degrees. One of our core values is to be of service to those in need by donating our time and skill. We participate in mission trips to Haiti, Jamaica, and volunteer at Illinois Mission of Mercy and the Will Grundy Medical Clinic, providing free dental care to members of our own community.

In our Joliet office, we remodeled the entire space from floor to ceiling. The remodel included making the space more comfortable for patients and staff, incorporating new equipment in all treatment rooms, and adding a state-of-the-artlab, CBCT 3D image capture, digital scanning, and new sterilization center.

Dr. Dan Jr. completed a dental implant fellowship and will be receiving a his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry by completing over 500 hours of advanced education beyond his dental degree.

Dr. Dan grew up in Joliet where he attended Joliet Township High School. He attended Florida Southern University where he earned his bachelors degree, and he received his dental degree from Loyola University in 1982. He has continued on to earn a number of distinctions beyond his doctoral degree including Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD), by completing 1,100 hours of continuing education. Less than 2% of dentists worldwide have earned Mastership status. Dr. Dan has also earned the Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition (LLSR), joining an exceptional group of only 304 dentists to have ever earn this acknowledgment since its inception in 2005. Upon receiving the LLSR, AGD president Fares M. Elias stated,

Dr. Dans numerous hours of post-doctoral education allow him to offer a specialized comprehensive approach to those patients desiring to achieve optimal oral health. The goals are long-lasting comfort, function, and naturally beautiful teeth.

Outside of the office. Dr. Dan has traveled to Haiti on several dental mission trips and has provided free dental care for Illinois Mission of Mercy. He enjoys golf, camping, biking, fly-fishing, and spending time outdoors.

If your dentist is a Fellow or Master of the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD or MAGD) they are the best of the best in the field. Only about 6 percent of general dentists in the U.S. and Canada are AGD Fellows. You can rest assured that your dentist cares about knowing the latest techniques and best practices in dentistry. Your dentist practices these techniques in a classroom setting multiple times a year not every dentist does this

I love dentistry! Its an exciting time to be a dentist with the rapid technological changes. Ive made it a priority to continually learn and improve, attending advanced courses across the country and overseas, to provide patients the most up-to-date care. Dr. Dave attended Joliet Catholic Academy and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Millikin University. He received his doctorate in dental medicine from Southern Illinois University. Dr. Dave has experience in all areas of dentistry, with particular interests in endodontics, pediatrics, and oral surgery. Dr. Dave is committed to providing the highest standard of care by staying up-to-date on all emerging technologies and participating in numerous post-doctoral courses throughout the year.

I am really happy to be serving the Joliet and Plainfield communities because I grew up in Joliet and Plainfield, went to school here, played sports here, and know the community well. Every day I get the opportunity to treat people that I have known my whole life, whether it be someone I grew up playing sports with or one of my previous teachers or neighbors. It is satisfying knowing that I can help my community.

I am an active person and enjoy doing pretty much anything outdoors. I do a lot biking during the summer, both mountain biking and road biking. I also really enjoy waterskiing. During the winter months I stay active by working out at the gym and also snow skiing whenever I can. I also will go on the occasional hunting and fishing trip with my father and grandfather.

This is a hard question because there are so many great restaurants to choose from, and it seems like there is always a new one to try. I am a big fan of Als Steakhouse in Joliet because they have a great lunch. I also like Capri in downtown Plainfield where I always try to order something different and have never been disappointed.

My family has been serving the Joliet and Plainfield areas for almost 60 years, and over that time Streitz Dental Arts has always strived to be the best dentists possible.
