Dr. Leonardo Pena graduated as a General Dentist from Havana College of Dentistry on 1988, where he received an special award for being the highest score on his class, after that He went for a three years program to obtain his Diploma on Doctor in Normal And Pathological Physiology and taught for several years Physiology to freshmans students at the College of Dentristy.
He is recognized for his outstanding knowledge in the field of Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry. He received his Diploma as Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) from New York University College of dentistry in 2000, where he graduated with Honors and received an award for having passed the best examinations. He also received an award from The American College of Prosthodontists for his outstanding undergraduate achievement. Dr. Pena is a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Dental Society.
To date, Dr. Pena has completed hundreds of hours of continuing education in all fields of dentistry including Implant, Cosmetic Dentistry and Orthodontia. Dr: Pena has supported Hands of compassion Foundation giving way materials and dental equipments to render free dental treatment to poor kids in Honduras; He has given support to The Orange Volunteer Fire Association, The Orange Police Union, The Stratford Police Union, The American Cancer Society, The American Diabetes Association, St. Jude, Griffin Hospital Development Funds among many others. He enjoys gardening ,traveling and sharing quality time with his wife, son, family and friends.
After years of practicing, Dr. Leonardo Pena-Abosaid and his colleagues collaborated to found their own clinic. Coming from backgrounds of miscellaneous dental institutions of the US, they complement each other. Their common clinic became known as Stratford Dental Care!

Was a pleasant experience meeting the staff at the facility, didn't waste time setting up and taking care of me. My form was sent to me ahead to fill in my details. I got a good clean while Ashley the nurse engaged me with all my questions with joy. The Doctor was nice and explained my situation better to me and offered solutions but didn't insist I do. I went and thought about it and booked another appointment. The office is clean and not cluttered. You will love your experience too.

I love this dentist practice . So glad of my friend recommendation. The front desk ladies always willing to work with my schedule . No waiting time when it comes to your appointments . Fair prices . Even when you have emergencies they will fill you in no matter of their busy schedule . The dentist are very nice , profesional in their jobs . Can't be more happy to have them as my dentists. Will definitely recommend this dentist office .

Since we moved from Norwalk to Stratford, my family and I are more than satisfied with the care, hygiene and services provided by the clinic, very clean, good care. Personally, I went through many clinics, and no one would cure my problem of peridiontism, they only took the money from me until I began to treat myself in this clinic and thus I regained my smile and my oral hygiene.

This is the best dental practice that I've been in Stratford ct .The office is great and they are very sincere and very good at what they do . Dr. Pena does excellent work with the assistant by his side very friendly and out going people . The hygienist is one of my best Cleaning person . The front desk also is great she works with you on everything you need and helps you in any way she can. I highly recommend them for service of a dental place for you and your family . I would like to thank the office for a great job!

My mother and I have been patients with Dr. Pena since he first opened his practice in Stratford years ago. DR: Pena is the best dentist I have ever had, very knowledgeable, high quality work and painless. The office is so clean, they have implemented UV light in every operatory making the office extremely safe, specially for the times we are living. Staff is very nice, it feels like home. I highly recommended, specially if you are afraid of dentist like me.

Everyone in this dental practice is amazing! I was in a great deal of pain. And they brought me in right away. Same day I called. Even with everything that is going on. They helped me get the needed treatment and I was able to sleep that night. Smile

I am 66 years old and a lifelong Stratford resident and over my lifetime have been under the care of five dentists prior to Dr. Pena, three in Stratford and one in Bridgeport. At age 25, in Chicago I had excellent care with Dr. Bennet who fixed bad fillings preventing proper flossing and did two crowns at a time when I had to use student loan money to pay him but I was very grateful he fixed many existing problems. I felt that Dr. Bennet was excellent. But I must say that Dr. Pena surpasses him. Dr. Pena is meticulous in his work. He takes care of my wife and son also. In my case , he has systematically and carefully performed preventive and replacement care saving me future suffering and lost teeth. My smile looks better now than when I was young and his state of the art methods have removed the self consciousness I had about my many amalgam (dark metal) fillings. Dr. Penas' office staff are all so nice and very professional and competent, His wife Wilma, also a medical professional assists in procedures and gives me reassurance, Ashley is his excellent hygienist and performs the best cleanings and checkups I have ever had anywhere, and Diana at the front desk is so friendly and always keeps on top of any account issues. Dr. Pena has built a beautiful office with the latest equipment, he is the consummate professional. He sometimes hums to himself softly as he works telling me that he loves his work and has joy in his heart. Stratford is very lucky to have him and so am I, as my dentist.

I started going to Stratford Dental Care in early 2019. I was basically jobless and had no idea how I was going to pay to repair the crown that had fallen out. My sister's kids have been going here forever and I never knew they existed until she told me. I walked in not knowing what to expect, and OMG. I filled out some paperwork on their easy to use tablet (no insurance and in between jobs). They welcomed me like I had been going there for years. I was given options and advice immediately and paid next to nothing (it may have even been nothing) I went back months later and have never looked back since! Dr. Pena is amazing and genuinely cares about his patients. I do not want to copy what everyone else says about him and his staff, but I will certainly co-sign, as nothing more needs to be said. I never thought I could enjoy going to the dentist...lol. Patient for life!!!

Every time I go to Stratford Dental Care, I feel like family. They really care about you as a person and your teeth. They are professional, kind and efficient. Dr. Pena is the best dentist ever. I am such a big baby when it comes to going to the dentist but let me tell you something, it never hurts at Stratford Dental Care. It is always painless. I am so grateful to have found Stratford Dental Care many years ago. I was always terrified of dentists, but Dr Pena is very kind and caring and definitely made my dental visits stress-free. He goes above and beyond for his patients. He has always made time for me, even coming in on a day off. His entire staff is very professional and welcoming.
