I've been going to Dr. Kraus and the staff at his dental office for several years now. The professional and well-trained care I encountered when I first went there, gave me an 'Eureka!' moment, for I had found a really decent place. And I plan to stick with them! Dr. Kraus is a perfectionist at fitting things right, and the dental hygienists have taught me a lot of useful info on how to better care for my teeth. One example: Dr. Kraus has really helped out in protecting me from myself--I was clenching my jaw hard, when stressed, in my sleep; but now I'm not cracking teeth, by wearing a night guard.

I have been going to my dentist's office Dr. Eric Kraus for many many years. He was a nice guy but his office was old, needed to be redecorated & he was heading towards retirement. Today I went in for my check up & had the pleasure of meeting the wonderful, warm & friendly front desk staff - Kristin & Millie SO nice and SO friendly. Then I got my teeth cleaned by Crystal and it was by far the most easy, comfortable and much quicker than in my past experiences. She was excellent. Then I met Dr. Nicholas Withem and what a nice, friendIy and warm guy. He was really nice. I would highly reccomend Dr. Withem and his staff to anyone who is looking for a good dentist, with good staff and clean and nicely decorated office. Plus the tv and music was great too!!!

Since Dr Eric Krause retired and sold the business I thought I would give the new dentist a try and see how it goes. Over the past year or so I've had my usual 2 cleanings, a cracked tooth needing a crown and after all this was done with I'm happy to say everyone I dealt with was just fine. Always friendly and I am very satisfied with how they treated me. My teeth feel good !

I was a patient of the previous dentist, Dr. Krauss, so when he retired I just continued on with this new practice. I have regularly gone to the dentist (2x a year) for the past forty years and never been told I needed any crown. I have not had a cavity for 25 years but prior to that I had many and they were all the old metal fillings. I've had two long term dentists in the past 30 years and never have I been told I need to do anything with the fillings or my teeth. The only issues I've had has been receding gums. Upon entering the office for my first cleaning with them, last year, I was told I also needed a deep cleaning, so they didn't give me my regular scheduled cleaning. When the doctor came in for his part of the visit, this dentist recommended multiple crowns to "prevent possible root canals in the future". So instead of walking out with my teeth cleaned, I walked out with a breakdown of out of pocket costs to get a deep cleaning and crowns into the thousands. I had no pain, no issues; I was just coming in for my regular cleaning. Putting my faith in the expertise and ethics of this new dental practice, I left the office that day without my allotted second cleaning of the year (that is covered 80% by my insurance). I didn't have the funds for those procedures at that time. 6 months later I came back for regular cleaning (shame on me for not finding a new dentist). The hygienist from my prior visit was not there. This new hygienist now assured me I did NOT now need a deep cleaning and they have since let go of the prior hygienist. At the cleaning the dentist told me again I needed crowns for preventative measures. I have never had a crown so I didn't understand the invasive nature and severity of the procedure and he didn't take the time to explain it to me. He or the front desk (non medical employees) suggested two crowns at one appointment to "get them over with". The doctor came in humming and continued humming as I was in pain (something felt wrong about that). On both visits I was not given enough Novocain and when I stated that I could still feel the pain I felt almost shamed that "I needed so much" (3 shots and numbing jell). I was never informed of how intrusive and painful the procedure would be or what the long term affects would be until after the second visit. When all was said and done, I was given I piece of paper stating it would be months that I might have pain and sensitivity. I have never understood why people had such fears about dentists. Now I do. I do not believe that this procedure was necessary at this time and I also think another tooth right below the crown may have been damaged during the drilling process. I am in severe pain since this procedure but I will not return to this practice, instead I will find a new dentist this week to help to fix what has been done to my mouth. I have never written anything like this, but I feel strongly that this should not have happened.

Truly a wonderful satisfying visit! The office was very clean and welcoming. The front ladies, Milly and Kirstin greeted me with warmth and great smiles (behind the face masks). They made me feel comfortable. Met Krystal, my new hygienist and she was very kind, accommodating and knowledgeable, best best cleaning ever. Met Dr. Withem and he was very friendly, gentle and professional. Did not feel nervous at all but felt like I was part of the family. Everyone likes to laugh and that's a good thing as life is to short to be miserable and angry. I prefer a small dental office and this one is just that. To be taken care of as an individual and creating relationships. Very satisfied I found Stow Dental Care as it will be my new home for all my dental needs. Looking forward to my next visit! Grateful!

The staff is friendly and welcoming. I needed 3 cavities restored on one side and before the procedure I asked Dr.Withem to talk me through as much as he was able. He did just that and it made the process positive. I have one more cavity to restore and actually looking forward to it.
