Dr. Hou received his Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry from Rice University and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Northwestern University Dental School. He completed two general practice residencies, one at the Detroit Receiving Hospital and another at the Houston Veterans Hospital. Dr. Hou received hos Master of Science in Orthodontics from the University of Michigan.
Dr. Hou has practiced in the tri-state area for the last twenty years. He was Associate Clinical Director of Orthodontics at the Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He has had a private practice for the past 15 years. He is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontics, American Dental Association.

Normally, I don't leave reviews. Although, the few experiences I've had with Dr. Baum and his staff absolutely deserve the recognition. The atmosphere is down to earth and calming, completely washes away any nerves you may be experiencing. Everyone hates going to the Dentist but you'll enjoy going to see them because they're just that great. Do yourself a favor and give them a chance, I don't think there's anyone quite like them. Thanks again, no more pain.

Dr. Baum has seen me and members of my family on short or no notice-including opening his office at 9:00PM on a Tuesday night when I was having a dental emergency. I recommend him wholeheartedly.

Their customer service is incredible! They took me in on a Friday, even though they are usually closed! I felt so bad that I had to come in on a day they were close but was welcomed with such kindness!

Chipped my tooth last night and they were able to fit me in first thing in the morning. Melissa at the front desk was quick, polite and talked me off the ledge. As soon as I sat down Dr. B made me feel extremely comfortable and walked me through my options. He fixed my tooth within minutes and I was able to go right back to work. My tooth never even looked like it was ever chipped. Thank you for turning my day around!!!

I have been coming to stony brook family dentistry for a solid 10 years. Dr Baum has saved numerous teeth for me when other dentists said they would need to be removed. Dr baum uses all the new technology and i never feel a thing. Dr. baum has crowned my front top teeth which came out unbelievable. I have had so many compliments and would recommend anyone who needs minor to major work done on there teeth. The staff welcomes you like family i have known his assistants for years especially Melissa no matter how bad my teeth have been she has always made me feel comfortable and not ashamed about the condition of my teeth. So to make this long story short i recommend stonybrook family dentistry to anyone.

Had an awful toothache and could only get in late, they called me first thing after I left a message and set me up with an appointment that day. Staff was excellent and helpful and I would recommend them greatly!

My mom referred me here for a regular appointment and for emergency oral surgery. My regular appointment was good! Quick and helpful, staff was very nice and the waiting area has a pretty fish tank. For emergency oral surgery, he got me in right away. Procedure was quick and painless. Definitely recommend! I just wish my insurance was taken but that's okay. :)

Dr.Baum is simply amazing. Over the course of 3 yrs I've had teeth mangled by doctors, this place has always helped me out. And he is quick and swift. Just had 4 teeth pulled and felt like one. The staff is amazing as well, nice and always helpful. They make you feel comfortable.

Dr. Baum and the team at Stony Brook Family Dentistry are fantastic! I had my first ever cavity and I was so afraid for my filling appointment. Dr. Baum used a laser and I didn't feel a thing. So happy I came to Stony Brook Family Dentistry, they truly do treat you like family!

Dr. Baum's has truly taken the time and care to treat this difficult patient. I arrived at his office in the early spring in terrible need of a two teeth extractions. The dental work is seamless and professional. Since then, I have continued to return to his office where the staff is lovely and I'm not so nervous to receive the continuous treatments. I am delighted with the results and look forward to my next visit. Thanks again Dr Baum and staff!!
