Dr. Caesars journey with the Stone Oak Orthodontics began when he returned home to San Antonio in 2007 following his first year of college . After shadowing Dr. Norris for only a week, they formed a unique bond and their relationship has continued to blossom ever since! The opportunity to be individually trained by Dr. Norris over the span of 8 summers gave Dr. Caesar the desire to develop the same orthodontic philosophy. He was able to make that dream a reality at Howard University and was even trained by the same Biomechanics professor that taught Dr. Norris.

Dr. Caesar went on to earn the Resident of the Year award and served as Chief Resident for his graduating class. Since returning, his impact on our practice has been tremendous. From his intimate understanding of the ever changing world of airway, his contributions have changed how we diagnose, treatment plan, and treat our patients. With their common backgrounds, our doctors discuss and treatment plan all of our patients together which ultimately benefits the entire Stone Oak Family from patients to team members.

Dr. Caesar moved to North Carolina to attend Duke University for his undergraduate studies where he was converted into a die-hard Duke Basketball fan and later represented the university as a center midfielder of the club soccer team. After receiving his undergraduate degree, he spent a year living abroad in Paris, France before returning to Texas to attend the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio where he graduated with a distinction in Teaching Honors.

Dr. Caesars exploration into Airway began in dental school when he spent time researching orofacial myology and the role that the tongue plays in the growth and development of the head, jaws, and face. Near the conclusion of dental school his passion for Airway/Sleep Disordered Breathing/Sleep Apnea grew stronger after training under an airway dentist.

Dr. Caesar loves to spend time traveling with his wife, Ashlee, and their son Drew. As a family, the Caesars enjoy staying active through water sports and hiking often times with their golden retriever Jazz! Dr. Caesar still plays soccer and maintains a weekly yoga practice, and of course is a loyal fan of our San Antonio Spurs!

Dr. Robert Norris is devoted to creating smiles for a lifetime. His unique background in mechanical engineering provides him with a distinct advantage in mastering the forces, vectors, and movements inherent in performing orthodontic treatment.

In 2007, Dr. Norris began work to fulfill to make his office completely green. The office is part of a volunteer renewable energy program with CPS known as Windtricity. In April 2008, he completed a solar energy project at his orthodontic practice with the installation of 80 solar panels, providing 16 kW of electricity.

In 2010 we completed our office expansion making it the first LEED-Certified orthodontic office in the world. LEED is Leadership in Engineering and Environmental Design and is the US Governments stamp of approval on environmentally responsible office construction.

Dr. Norris is a resident of San Antonio, Texas, where he lives with his wife and three children. As a Texas native, he grew up in Kingsville, Texas. He enjoys snow skiing, cycling, swimming, strength training, boating, hiking, and kayaking. Dr. Norris has lectured throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia. His scientific papers have been published in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, Seminars in Orthodontics, as well as Clinical Impressions. To date, Dr. Norris and Simone are enjoying their proudest accomplishments, their three children.

When you get your braces on, you may feel general soreness in your mouth and teeth may be tender to biting pressures for 3 5 days. Take Tylenol or whatever you normally take for headache or discomfort. The lips, cheeks and tongue may also become irritated for one to two weeks as they toughen and become accustomed to the braces. We will supply wax to put on the braces in irritated areas to lessen discomfort.

Teeth must loosen first so they can move. This is to be expected throughout treatment and is completely normal. Dont worry! The teeth will firm up in their new corrected positions after treatment is completed.

The day you get your braces on is the beginning of a new adventure. Our team has you taken care of! Every patient goes home with a Day 1 Survival Kit. This kit includes your new electric toothbrush, soft foods for your first snack with braces, the coolest t-shirt, and other items to help with brushing and flossing during treatment.

Dont be alarmed if a wire or band comes loose. This happens occasionally. If a wire sticks out and is irritating, use a blunt instrument (eraser end of a pencil) and carefully, gently push the irritating wire back under the archwire. Simply get it out of the way.

To successfully complete orthodontic treatment, the patient must work together with the orthodontist. The teeth and jaws can only move toward their corrected positions if the patient consistently wears the rubber bands and/or other appliances as prescribed. Lack of cooperation following instructions and damaged appliances lengthen the treatment time.
