Wow! So disappointed! I called this office a month ago to setup an appointment. And they call me the day of to Cancel. " I had called prior to see if my insurance was in there network" wow two hours before our appointment they call us to cancel, it would of been nice if they would of told us in advance. So we could of been looking for another office to do the procedures needed.

I've been coming to Stone Dental for a while now. The staff is very friendly and the dentist seems thorough, but a recent visit has me pretty upset. I came in for what I thought was a routine cleaning, but then someone mentioned anesthesia and that made me ask why is that needed for a cleaning? I was informed that I was schedule for a special type of cleaning. I had no idea and told the team this was never communicated to me. What irritates me is that I was never told and therefore did not have the right to make the decision (except on the spot), that the total out of pocket cost was $190, and that there was a part two that I needed to schedule. I'm very lucky to be able to cover an unexpected cost or take another hour off of work in the same week, but that's not extended to everyone. I think the team and office is very nice but this was a very disrespectful communication gap.

I've been coming here for over five years, mostly due to the convenience of the location. They also always seem to have helpful new tips every time I go, like to put a little mouthwash in my waterpik flosser or new things to remember when brushing or flossing. I also loved the newer lite-massage chair and the Friday upbeat edm party playlist they had bumping as opposed to the typical boring dental office music when I went recently. However, I changed jobs recently and my insurance did not have them as 'in-market'. I was not looking forward to having to start going to another place and transfer over all my dental history, my x rays etc. When I told them this, Stone dental said they would match my insurance's coverage and all I had to do was provide my new information. This was extremely helpful to me during this busier period of work and took one more thing off my plate. I really appreciate what they did for me and will continue coming here!

Honestly the care itself was average but I have had a really scammy experience with their office. After a cleaning and filling, I began receiving follow up calls to schedule a second filling that the dentist told me I didn't need. I asked them to double check that I didn't need that service and never received a response. About a year later I started receiving the reminders for my next cleaning. Most were left as voicemails. When I finally answered and told them I would not be scheduling a follow up, I was the told I was "undercharged" at my last visit (A YEAR AGO) and needed to pay additional money. I have never received a bill or notice of this charge in the year since my visit and had to request one. Avoid this place.

booked it twice, on zocdoc, got canceled twice. 1. when they have opening on zocdoc, they said they don't, understandable as appointments fill up. 2. on they day it says they open on zocdoc they say they don't open, also understandable as website can make mistakes. 3. after appointment is make, send me PDF of forms and electronic forms, only after which called me saying my insurance is HMO while they only take PPO, dude... my insurance is PPO, i checked with my ADP and it says it is PPO... fine i guess i will just have to find a different office. also i hope it's not because I have a chinese name, not trying to be sensitive or anything but otherwise i srsly can't think of any reason to lie about my insurance to get rid of me. (i gave the member ID and group number on top of plan name, so even if i got the plan name mixed up, insurance company should be able to verify my true plan). i just want to have my teeth cleaned before my birthday, thanks guys for ruining it.

I would highly recommend Stone Dental Group. Their front office - Liz in particular has been so accommodating and helpful through my journey of getting a lot of dental work done. I have extreme dental anxiety and Dr. Azim and Dr. Cheng have been so patient, kind, and understanding.

Picked Dr. Akbar at random because she accepted my dental insurance. Was impressed from the get go with her, the Stone Dental Group office support staff. Upfront with work needed to be done, and costs. I feel very fortunate to have found her as my new dentist.

I would have appreciated a phone call before I arrived informing me that none of the dentists were in network with my insurance. I wasted time and an $8 valet fee on my visit

Really lovely staff--especially Eric and Liz-- everyone was kind and straightforward about what I needed to be done. I'm usually very guarded in dental offices, but here I found myself actually comfortable and assured! I definitely recommend this office, especially if you're a more anxious person like I am.

Amazing as always!! The staff is incredible. I usually do not like the dentist, but they make every visit very comforting. Highly recommend to anyone in the Chicago area. Even after I moved out of the Lakeview/Lincoln Park area, I still come up!

I've had Dr. Akbar and Dr. Cheng do work on my teeth. Both were friendly, explained what needed to be done (a few fillings), and everything went smoothly! Highly recommend this dental practice. The front desk was nice too :)

I had been searching for a good dentist for two years. After floating around I found Stone...location, friendliness, but most of all truth and professionalism. Each and every time after my appointments I left feeling that my situation is being addressed and that my goals, that were set from my initial appointment are being reached. Impressive

Easy scheduling, awesome hygienist who spent a long time showing me photos of my teeth, explaining them and then cleaning. Dentist was thoughtful and spent time answering my questions. Everyone was very professional. Office was clean and bright. Would highly recommend.
