Dr. Clyde Stockton opened his own practice September of 1990. He was able to build a practice that allowed him to give patients a smile to be proud of with an enjoyable dental experience. His deep, booming voice, comforting words, and warm laugh made patients feel at ease with the anxiety that sometimes accompanies trips to the dentist. Dr. Stockton also sponsored youth athletic teams, worked with the State Department of Health and Human Services to increase access to dental care for underserved members of our community, and mentored young men and women wanting to better themselves. He instilled a sense of pride and purpose for many he came in contact with. He treated people like he wanted to be treated.
Dr. Stockton took great pride in his work, saying, giving a patient a smile they enjoy showing off gives me a sense of gratification that it is hard to put into words. His dedication to the profession of dentistry coupled the love he had for his patients and community endeared him to all.
His values of treating people like you want to be treated, taking pride in your work, and giving back to the community were instilled in his son, Dr. Ruges F Stockton, who joined his practice in 2002. Ruges F. Stockton, DDS is a dentist in Columbia, South Carolina who has been improving smiles in Richland County communities since 2002. Dr. Ruges knew he wanted to become a dentist at an early age while shadowing his father, Clyde Stockton, DDS., and wants everyone to love their dental experiences as much as he did growing up. Dr. Ruges moved back to Columbia in 2001, after graduating with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Howard University, College of Dentistry in Washington, DC. His undergraduate Bachelor of Science degreeis also fromHoward University. Dr. Ruges and his wife live in Columbia with their twochildren. When he is not working on happy smiles, Dr. Ruges enjoys playing golf, traveling, participating with youth baseball and basketball, and participating in community service projects. He is a Past Master of St. Paul Lodge #8 (2012) and a lifetime member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated.

I am a student currently on my extern. I worked at the office for 7 weeks and absolutely loved it. Dr. Ruges Stockton is very patient when teaching you and doesnt mind helping you every step of the way. He is very patient. The patients there are very well taken care of. I dont know of too many dentist offices that will schedule follow up appts after having certain procedures done just to make sure youre OK and nothing is going wrong. Well, they do. Dr. Stockton is so empathetic and explains in layman's terms the details of the options available. Always have been nervous about dental work, but Dr. Stockton and his team eases away the fear. Not to mention the atmosphere is immaculately clean and professional. Looking forward to my next visit

11/2023: Still extremely satisfied with the expert services rendered! They've even added a tremendously valuable employee in Ms. Corless. She knows her stuff! She shared some life-changing dental hygiene info with me! My husband has finally decided to make it a family affair and switch to Dr. Stockton & his team! Older post: Every appointment at Stockton Family Dentistry has been wonderful! Not only is Dr. Stockton knowledgeable, professional and personable, but his staff is equally as such! Yes I I would recommend this dentist to my friends family because I love coming there because of the people because they talk to you they are friendly and I like that because some doctors office you go to they only say good morning and that's it so yes I would recommend Dr Stockton to anyone thank you for your service love you guys

Didn't wait long. They did X-rays on the side and didn't hurt at all so I was relieved. Anyway, I was surprised at how painless it was. Dental exam was quick and painless.
