'The unique environment at Stiehl Family Dentistry is one that everyone feels comfortable and one that everyone is at home in. It is not forced or fake. It has come about from years of being involved within the Newnan community, of growing up in this area and watching a new generation grow, of knowing who our patients mothers and fathers are and knowing who their children are. Our staff is a staff that cares and it shows. Its as simple as that.
Dr. Brent Stiehl was raised in Newnan for most of his childhood and went to Coweta schools. He attended High School locally at Palmetto and Creekside High Schools. Prior to opening Stiehl Dentistry he attended The University of Georgia and to this day remains a proud Bulldawg. Dr. Stiehl graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and went on to attend The Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry. He received his Doctor of Dental Medicine while serving as class president for three years.
Currently Dr. Stiehl is serving on the Georgia Board of Dentistry. This board regulates and enforces the standards of practices for dentistry in Georgia. The Board of Dentistry is a Governor appointed position consisting of 11 members. There are nine dentists, one dental hygienist, and one consumer member that serve on the board.
In addition to serving on the Board of Dentistry, Dr. Stiehl is also a board examiner for the Central Regional Dental Testing Service. CRDTS is a testing service made up of State Boards of Dentistry who have joined forces to develop and administer fair, valid, and reliable examinations of competency to practice dentistry and dental hygiene. In other words, he is one of the people who test the competency of new graduates from Dental and Hygiene school.
Continuing education is important to Dr. Stiehl. He has received a Fellowship Degree from the Academy of General Dentistry. His areas of focus are occlusion (the way teeth fit together), Cosmetic dentistry, and oral sedation.
Dr. Stiehl lives in Newnan with his wife Dawn and son Blake. He is a local boy who remains active in the community. He is an assistant scout master in a local Boy Scout Troop and volunteers at the local Good Samaritan Clinic.
In his spare time, Dr. Stiehl enjoys being outdoors and spending time with his family. As an avid sportsman, hell bend your ear with tales of the one that got away and hunting stories about bird dogs. Mention turkey hunting or Montana and it may take a while before you can get away.
Dr. Jesse Belyeu is a native of Camilla Georgia attending Westwood schools from third grade until graduation. He then moved to Macon Georgia getting a B.S. in Computer Science. After graduation he decided to follow in his fathers footsteps and attended the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University (formerly known as the Medical College of Georgia) receiving his Doctorate of Dental Medicine in 2015.
After graduation he decided to expand his dental education and skill set with a two-year General Practice Residency also at The Dental College of Georgia. During his residency, Dr. Belyeus training focused on dental implants, third molar extractions (wisdom teeth), IV Sedation, and treatment of the medically complex patient. During his second year he served as a chief resident which was an opening to the passion of teaching. Dr. Belyeu spends his free time returning to the residency program teaching current residents and trying to support the program that gave him so much. He also occasionally lectures at different dental conferences. Dr. Belyeu also tries to take at least one trip a year to other parts of the world for dental missions work.
Dr. Belyeus favorite service to offer patients is IV sedation. Patients come in every day that have avoided the dentist for decades due to fear. He feels there is nothing more rewarding than being able to comfortably treat a patient that is terrified of coming to the dentist. Dr. Belyeu also enjoys implementing all the newer technologies into dentistry including three dimensional radiographs and digital scanning.
Dr. Bridget Lyons grew up in the Augusta area and attended the University of Georgia to complete a Bachelor of Science in biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. From there she went on to the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University (formerly known as the Medical College of Georgia) completing her Doctorate of Dental Medicine in 2015 with the highest academic honor of being inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon.
Dr. Lyons is certified in Invisalign orthodontic treatment and loves offering the option of clear aligner therapy for her patients. Her favorite thing about dentistry is being able to work with her patients to create a positive dental experience. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Lyons is also a professional marathon runner having competed in the 2016 Olympic trials and qualified for the 2020 marathon Olympic trials. She currently runs for the Atlanta Track Club but competed in track and field and cross country for the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!) Outside of running she enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 dogs. They love to hike, camp, spend time at the lake, or travel the world.
