Born and raised in Levelland, Texas, Charles Stewart, D.D.S., MDIV graduated salutatorian of his high school class. He was appointed to the United States Air Force Academy, graduating in 1973 as a second lieutenant. Dr. Stewart then enrolled at the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston, where he was a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society. In 1978, he graduated sixth in his class and went on to study at the Carswell Air Force Base in 1979, where he completed a one-year general practice residency program. After his residency, Dr. Stewart returned to Houstons University of Texas Dental Branch in 1980 to train in orthodontics.

Dr. Stewart and his wife, Mary Lynn, have been happily married since 1973. They have four children, and all of them work in the office: Bryan, who graduated from Baylor University is the clinical manager, Laurie, a graduate of Texas Wesleyan University is the front office manager, Chase, who graduated from Baylor University is the manager of marketing and business affairs and Dr. Scott, who graduated from Baylor University and completed his dental training at UT San Antonio. In Dr. Stewarts spare time he enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.

Dr. Scott Stewart is Dr. Stewarts youngest son. Dr. Scott attended Baylor University for his undergraduate, and then completed his dental training at the University of Texas in San Antonio. Dr. Scott has spent the past three years serving in Memphis at Christ Community Health Services. Scotts passion is to serve the community with the talents the Lord has blessed him with. Scott will split his time working at the office and volunteering at The Mercy Clinic in Fort Worth, which provides free healthcare to the underserved communities. Scott lives in south Fort Worth with his wife Ashley and two children, Clara & Boaz. We are excited to welcome Dr. Scott Stewart back home as a great addition to the Stewart Ortho family.

Stewart Family Orthodontics is truly a family business. Our office stresses the importance of family because it means so much to us personally. Three of Dr. Stewarts children work alongside him in the office. His oldest son Bryan, serves as the offices clinical manager. His daughter Laurie is the front office manager, and Chase, Dr. Stewarts middle son, handles all of the marketing and business relations. Dr. Stewarts youngest, Scott, is currently attending dental school with hopes of joining his father as the next orthodontist at the office.

I graduated from Baylor University with a degree in Psychology and I bleed green and gold! I live in Aledo with my wife Lindsay and two kids Brody and Laney. We love the Parker County community and are blessed to be a part of it! We are on the pioneer team at Christ Chapel Bible Churchs West Campus and love our church family as well. When I am not in the office I enjoy hunting and fishing, Rangers baseball and Baylor Athletics! Sicem Bears!

I am Dr Stewarts only daughter and have worked for him since 2008. I have a background in retail management and when I had an opportunity to come into the family business, I could not think of a better place to work! As the front office manager you will see me in many different roles. Whether its going over financials or helping you spend your orthobucks at our prize cabinet, I love getting to know and interact with all of our great families. We consider it a privilege to serve the families of this community.

I graduated from Texas Wesleyan University with a degree in business management and have been putting it to good use ever since. My husband and I have three children, Ella, Emma and Jake; and we live in south Fort Worth. In our spare time we enjoy spending time with family and friends and relaxing at the lake.

I am Dr. Stewarts middle son and I have been at Stewart Family Orthodontics since 2009. Its been a real privilege to work in Weatherford with such a great community around us. I handle all of our offices marketing and business activities in addition to working in the lab. If your school or team is in need of sponsors, I am the one to talk to. My wife Leslie and I both graduated from Baylor University in 2007 from the Professional Selling program. We have two children, Hunter and Lydia. When not at the office, I enjoy spending time hunting, fishing, playing/watching sports and traveling.

The Stewart Brand was designed to serve as the branding logo for Stewart Family Orthodontics. Designed by the family, our brand was developed to express a few of the ideals of our family and office. The branding iron styled logo is to represent not only our Texas heritage, but also Dr. Stewarts passion for raising cattle. The S represents the four members of the Stewart family; Dr. Stewart, his two sons Bryan and Chase, and his daughter Laurie. At the bottom of the S, you will see a fish symbol. This fish is the Christian ichthus. The ichthus in Greek, translates IXOYE to Jesus Christ, Gods Son, Savior. As a Christian family, we strive to live and operate our office through Christian principles. Our purpose is to glorify God in all that we do.

Ihave worked in the orthodontic field for 18 years and 17 1/2 have been with Dr. Stewart. I remember as a teenager the huge impact that having braces had on my appearance and self-esteem. I love seeing confidence blossom as our patients smiles are transformed. I am married and have 2 grown step-children, 3 grandchildren and many furry children. In my spare time I enjoy visiting amusement and water parks, seeing movies and quilting.

I have worked for Dr. Stewart for 11 years and love our patients here. I really enjoy getting to know each of our patients and forming relationships that make their treatment a more fun experience! I have 2 sons, one who graduated from UT, go Longhorns, and the other from UNT. I am so proud of them! I enjoy going to plays, movies and car shows as well as listening to live music.

I have worked in orthodontics for 12 years and I absolutely love what I do. Making beautiful smiles is so rewarding. I am thankful for a wonderful place to work and a great team to be a part of. I am a very detail-oriented person so orthodontics is a perfect fit for me. I love spending time with my husband watching our 2 daughters play sports. I also love the San Francisco 49ers and cheering for the Rangers.

I have worked in the dental field for 18 years and really love what I do. I am proud to have received a plaque from the American Orthodontic Society in 1999 for teaching wire bending at their Distinguished Lecture Series. I am an American Heart Association certified instructor and I teach BLS CPR. Being a part of the team at Stewart Family Orthodontics is fun and fulfilling. I live in Parker County and love living out in the country and enjoy outdoor activities like fishing. I enjoy spending time with my 2 labradors, frogs and my parrot Jade.

I joined the Stewart Ortho family in 2014. I have over 20 years of experience in the orthodontic field and I truly enjoy each and every aspect of it. My husband and I have two beautiful daughters who both keep us super busy with sports, and we love every minute of it. I love being part of such an amazing team and look forward to meeting you.

Orthodontics is the area of dentistry concerned with the supervision, guidance and correction of the dentofacial structures. Orthodontic treatment uses braces, retainers and other appliances to correct any dentofacial abnormalities. Regular dental check-ups and orthodontic treatment are proven to be effective tools in helping establish and maintain good oral health for people of all ages. An orthodontist is a specially trained dentist who has attended an advanced education program for a continual training period of 2 to 3 years. All members of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) have received the appropriate training.

Its never too late to have a beautiful smile! Adults should visit an orthodontist to improve the appearance of their smile and their overall dental health at any time. Some orthodontic corrections need to be made as early as 3 to 5 years of age, but ordinarily children should visit an orthodontist at the time permanent teeth begin to erupt in order to detect any deficiencies in the childs teeth formation. This is usually between 7 and 10 years of age. The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children visit an orthodontist no later than age 7. An early visit may not result in childrens braces; however, Dr. Stewart can monitor the growth and alignment of teeth and address any orthodontic problems as they arise.

Your initial visit to the orthodontist will give you an opportunity to meet the doctor and our knowledgeable staff, who will answer any questions you may have. You will receive a complimentary clinical examination and panoramic x-ray to determine whether orthodontic treatment is necessary. If treatment is required, Dr. Stewart will go over a treatment plan as well as an estimate of the treatment duration. Your treatment coordinator will answer any questions you may have concerning insurance, and will go over our flexible payment options.

Braces may be worn by both children and adults, not only to improve the attractiveness of their smile, but also because braces correct improper alignment of teeth that can lead to gum disease and early tooth loss. Left untreated, crooked teeth with irregular spacing make cleaning harder and allow cavities to more easily develop. Properly aligned teeth also make it easier to chew all types of food, and eliminate the headaches and pain caused by uneven chewing. Uneven teeth may result in weak enamel, gum problems and jaw misalignment. Modern technology has resulted in numerous options of braces that will fit your specific lifestyle and will provide you more comfort during treatment.

Braces are lighter, more comfortable and more technologically advanced today than ever before. They come in clear and a variety of color and material choices. Ask the office staff about what options are available. Other appliances include colorful bands, elastics and retainers.

Braces exert a gentle pressure on teeth over time to straighten them. The two main components include the braces placed on the teeth and the arch wire that connects them. The brace is a specially-shaped metal or ceramic affixed to each tooth and the arch wire is bent to reflect the bite that the patient should have after treatment. The wire threads through the braces. As the wire tries to return to its original shape, it applies pressure to move the teeth.

There have been some fantastic advances in modern orthodontics to make treatment more comfortable and quicker for patients. There are now smaller, smoother braces and gentler wires which provide a continuous small force over a long period of time rather than a strong force for only a short period. Typically there is some discomfort after the braces are first put on. Over the counter pain relievers and a soft foods diet will help alleviate this temporary discomfort.
