Dr. Steven Wilburn and Dr. Kyle Wilburn with our entire dental team welcome you to our practice. We focus on complete oral health and combine preventive, restorative, and cosmetic dentistry to provide high quality dental care that is customized for each patient. We are dedicated to providing you with a pleasant visit and results that you can be proud to show off. Our administrative team is ready to help you with questions about scheduling, financial arrangements and insurance, to make that part of the process as simple as possible.
Dr. Wilburn graduated from the Oregon Health Sciences Center in 1982 with a DMD degree in dentistry and has been in private practice since moving to Sonoma County in 1986. He is an active member of the Redwood Empire Dental Society, the California Dental Association and the American Dental Association. He has donated time treating patients for Hannah Boys Center, Valley of the Moon Childrens Center, and also has donated treatment through the Donated Dental Services Program. Dr. Wilburn challenges himself to keep current with the ever changing dental field. His office has the latest dental software, digital X-rays, and equipment for the most up-to-date dental care. Treatment provided by Dr. Wilburn include: the latest cosmetic treatments, teeth whitening, bonding, veneers, soft-tissue-laser treatment, implant-therapy, crowns, bridges, fillings, dentures and periodontal therapy.
However, the most important element to Dr. Wilburns practice is his caring and professional chair-side approach to dentistry. The most common patient feedback the office receives is their deep appreciation of his gentle and professional approach to dentistry. Dr. Wilburn is very responsive to their specific dental needs and allows the patients to feel at ease and relax while in the chair. He takes the time to listen to patients, explain their diagnosis and all of the treatment options available to resolve their dental issues, including costs and benefits of each option. He then strives to ensure that he does the best possible dental work to suit their specific needs. Patient comfort and satisfaction are his highest priorities.
Dr. Wilburn has been married 43 years to his wife Deanne and they have three grown children and five grandchildren living within the state of California. He enjoys an active lifestyle outside of work that includes interests in hiking, biking and skiing, traveling, gardening and home improvement projects.
Dr. Kyle Wilburn was born and raised right here, in Bennett Valley. A graduate of Montgomery High School, his college education began at the University of Colorado at Boulder where he graduated with a bachelors degree in economics.
Kyle continued his education with a pre dental based post-baccalaureate program and graduated with honors and on the deans list at the University of Oregon. He then applied and was accepted to his top choice of dental schools, the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco. Throughout his educational years, Dr. Kyle spent time volunteering as an assistant for various dental offices and also participated in events that provided free oral health education, screenings, preventive and restorative treatment to children and underprivileged populations.
Kyle continued his dental school experience with a residency at the Community Health Care Dental Clinic in Tacoma, Washington. Dr. Kyle was able to fine tune his skills and strengthen his practice while seeing over 2,000 patients at this residency. He received many accolades, awards and acknowledgments by the residency staff while there.
In his off-time, Kyle enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He and his wife Liz enjoy all outdoor activities. They are avid mountain bikers and spend a significant amount of time on two wheels, especially when the days are long and weather nice.
Welcome to our practice Michelle Camus!! We are very excited that Michelle will be working for our office as a full-time hygienist! Michelle graduated with a B.A. from Sonoma State University. She graduated from SRJC Dental Hygiene program in 2016. Her work experience in the field includes working in some of the best dental practices in the Bay Area. Michelle is very devoted to keeping current on the latest hygiene techniques and studies. She will be a great addition to our staff.
In her spare time Michelle enjoys playing golf, tennis, running and gardening. In between work and her hobbies, Michelle even finds it in her heart to reach out and help the needy in dental medical mission programs and orphanages.
Denise was born and raised in Sonoma County. She comes to our office with a well-rounded education in both dental assisting and dental hygiene. She received her Registered Dental Assisting certificate license from Santa Rosa Junior College in 1992 and completed her Associates of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene in 2002. She continued her education with a Bachelor of Science Degree from Minnesota State University.
Denises work experience also includes both dental hygiene and dental assisting. She has worked at various local offices as well, and as an adjunct faculty member for 5 years in the Santa Rosa Junior College Dental Hygiene Program, helping teach upcoming dental hygienists.
Denise is an active member of California Dental Hygiene Association, the Redwood Empire Dental Society and the California Dental Hygiene Educators Association. She stays up to date with the most current advances in dentistry through continuing education classes.
Denise is married to Shelby, a local business owner (and a Santa Rosa Native) and they have two children, Alexander, (13) and Abigail, (10) . She enjoys camping, photography, gardening and yoga in her spare time
Helga joined our staff in 2015 and comes to us with a wide range of experience and skills. She has been in the dental field since 1993 and her training in dentistry includes graduating from honors at Western Career College and she holds a X-ray license. Her primary responsibilities are front end duties including patient record management, billing and scheduling. Helga is also skilled and trained to work the back end of the office, on occasion, as well. She has a warm smile and shows complete professionalism with both welcoming the new patients and ensuring the existing patients receive the care they need.
On a more personal level, Helga has 3 grown children. Two sons (both are in the Air Force) and a daughter. In addition, she has two grandsons who she adores. Both she and Hank (her significant other) enjoy the freedom of now being empty nesters. This allows them more time for traveling and other hobbies such as baking, collecting handbags, and trips to Disneyland with those lucky grandsons.
When asked what makes Helga happiest, she was quick to say a quick laugh!! Now, given all Helgas skills, thats an added bonus!! We are fortunate to have Helga on staff and we think you will find her, as we do, a delight to work with.
Suzanne was born and raised in Healdsburg and began her career as a dental assistant in 1979 with Dr. Tom Conklin (ret.). Later she transitioned to a front office position in 1986 for Dr. Clint Weaver in Santa Rosa. She joined Dr. Wilburns team in 2006 and currently works part time in the front office and on occasion will also assist chair-side.
Suzanne lives in Cloverdale with her long-time companion Randy and has two grown children and 2 grandchildren. Her hobbies include cooking, reading and gardening. Of course, she also especially enjoys time with her grandchildren .
Suzanne has a quick smile and a caring approach while tending to each patients needs and requests. Dr. Wilburn has found a wonderful addition to the office staff with Suzanne and we are all so glad she is part of our team!!
Of course, her extensive experience in the dental field, working in both General Dentistry and Periodontics is also quite a valuable asset for our office as well. Shes a seasoned pro and fits right in!
Her education includes an Associates Degree in Science at Santa Rosa Junior College. She completed her Dental Assistant training there and received her RDA license for the State of California soon after.
Cathy was raised in nearby Rohnert Park and has lived in Sonoma County all of her life! Shes one of those true Sonoma County natives! She now lives in Santa Rosa with her husband Rudy and is the mother of two grown children. She thoroughly enjoys family time visiting them in Butte County and is very excited to welcome her first grandchild in April. Her favorite activities outside of the office include golfing, walking, biking as well as gardening and cooking.
