The Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin regional health network is a partnership between Froedtert Health and the Medical College of Wisconsin supporting a shared mission of patient care, innovation, medical research and education. Our health network operates eastern Wisconsin's only academic medical center and adult Level I Trauma Center at Froedtert Hospital, Milwaukee, an internationally recognized training and research center engaged in thousands of clinical trials and studies. The Froedtert & MCW health network, which includes 10 hospital locations, more than 2,000 physicians and more than 45 health centers and clinics, draws patients from throughout the Midwest and the nation. In our most recent fiscal year, outpatient visits were nearly 1.5 million, inpatient admissions to our hospitals were 55,085 and visits to our network physicians exceed 1.1 million.
In addition to Froedtert Hospital, the network includes Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital, Froedtert West Bend Hospital and Froedtert Community Hospital with locations in Mequon, New Berlin, Oak Creek and Pewaukee. The health network represents the collaboration of Wisconsins largest multispecialty physician practice with two community-based physician groups. In October 2017, an existing affiliation with the former United Hospital System was expanded to include its Kenosha Medical Center, St. Catherines Medical Center and related clinics in the network. In March 2021, the health network expanded again and now includes Holy Family Memorial, Manitowoc County's largest health care provider.
Froedtert Hospital, the academic medical center of the Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin health network, has 702 beds and is a leading referral resource for advanced medical care. Froedtert Hospital also operates the regions only adult Level I Trauma Center. The primary adult teaching affiliate of MCW, Froedtert Hospital is a major training facility for more than 1,000 medical, nursing and health technical students annually. It is also a respected research center, participating in some 2,000 research studies, including clinical trials, every year. Froedtert Hospital is located on the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center campus. Campus partners are: Childrens Wisconsin, Curative Care Network, MCW, Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Division and Versiti Blood Center of Wisconsin.

Froedtert West Bend Hospital, founded in 1930 by local doctors, community leaders and the Sisters of the Divine Savior and originally named St. Joseph's Hospital, is a full-service hospital serving residents of West Bend and Washington County. Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin Community Physicians is a primary care and multispecialty group with nearly 200 physicians and more than 150 advanced practice providers, delivering care in more than 33 health centers and clinics in southeastern Wisconsin. Froedtert Health is a Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based, integrated health care system providing a variety of health-related services, including hospitals and health centers, home care, laboratory, health insurance, employer health services and workplace clinics, and digital health solutions.
Froedtert Health does not allow weapons or firearms on its premises, unless in the possession of an authorized security or law enforcement officer. As of the November 1, 2011, effective date of the Wisconsin Concealed Carry Law, properly licensed individuals may keep a registered weapon in their locked, personal motor vehicle.
Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin Froedtert Hospital is the only academic medical center in eastern Wisconsin. Academic medical centers, which represent just 6 percent of Americas hospitals, are partnerships between a medical school and its affiliated teaching hospitals and clinics.
There are fewer than 120 academic medical centers in the country and only two in Wisconsin. In 2021, Froedtert Hospital was nationally ranked by U.S. News & World Report, in three adult specialties diabetes and endocrinology; ear, nose and throat and rehabilitation. Froedtert Hospital is also recognized as high performing in four adult specialties and 14 procedures and conditions.
