Dr. Nina Aks earned her degree in Dental Medicine from The University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine. Prior to coming to the USA, Dr. Aks graduated from the Medical University of St. Petersburg, Russia, with double Doctorate Degree in Medicine and Dentistry. She has over 20 years of experience. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania
School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Aks completed a post graduate program with the prestigious Dawson Academy (findadawsondentist.com) for advanced dental education. She earned a 'scholar' status at the Dawson Academy. She has also completed several other post graduate programs in cosmetic, implant dentistry, and prosthodontics including programs with Spear Institute, Massad Learning Center, and Dr. Dick Barns Group. Dr. Aks is committed to stay on top of her profession by attending advanced dental studies every year.
Dr. Aks' philosophy is offering her patients treatment for all dental issues from a minor dental problem like a single filling to full mouth reconstruction based on fundamental knowledge of the masticatory system, its function and possible problems. Dr. Aks uses a conservative approach for treatment with the goal in achieving long lasting oral health, success in functional and cosmetic harmony, and occlusal stability.
Dr. Steven Liu earned his degree in Dental Medicine from The University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Liu pursued two post-doctoral certificates in Periodontics (healthy gums), Prosthetics (tooth replacement) and Fixed Prosthodontics, as well as Implant Surgical and Prosthetic training. Dr. Liu was an assistant professor/clinical educator of Restorative Dentistry in the department of Preventive and Restorative Sciences and the director of the Implant Dentistry Course at University of Pennsylvania. Now, he is the course director of Restorative and Esthetic Concern for provisional Fabrication & Esthetic Implant Dentistry at University of Pennsylvania. He is the recipient of the 2001, 2002 and 2004 Joseph L. T. Appleton Award for excellence in clinical instruction and an 'American Top Dentist' for 2005, 2006 and 2007.
His papers have been published in Compendium of Continuing Education in Dentistry, The International Journal of Periodontics & Restorative Dentistry, Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, Quintessence International. He is now considered a frequently requested speaker on the local and international scene.
Dr. Lius clinical research activities focus on periodontal prosthesis concepts and implant dentistry, including aesthetic and anatomy concerns for implant surgery and prosthesis. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Pennsylvania Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology and the Academy of Osseointegration.
Dr. Ghulam Murtaza earned his degree in Dental Medicine from The University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine with honors. He completed his specialty residency training in endodontics at The University of Maryland Dental School.
Dr. Murtaza is a member of the Omega Kappa Upsilon dental honorary society and has extensive experience in performing endodontic microsurgical procedures. He continues to pursue the latest advances in endodontics by actively participating in continuing education courses and attending local and national meetings. Dr. Murtaza is an avid soccer fan and enjoys spending time outdoors with his family.
