Dr. Hood has been a practicing dentist for almost twenty-two years and has had extensive training and experience in virtually all areas of dental treatment. After graduating from Purdue University with a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, he received his professional training at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. He began his career in dentistry as a commissioned officer in the Indian Health Service, stationed in Reno, Nevada. Subsequently, Dr. Hood accepted a position as the Vice President and Director of Dental Services for a non-profit medical group in Upstate New York. He chose to leave public health service in 1997 to pursue some personal interests in private practice. His commitment to continuing education and the utilization of new materials and techniques assures his patients that they receive the best care possible.

Raised in a small town in Upstate New York, Dr. Hood met his wife, Mary, while attending Purdue in Indiana. Mary currently designs fire equipment for Super Vacuum, Inc., in Loveland. Steve and Mary have been married for almost thirty years, and they have two grown sons, Dana and Rhys, who live in Fort Collins. Mary and Steve are quite active in local volleyball. Steve also enjoys running, mountain biking, music, and home improvement.

Jessica has been Dr. Hoods primary clinical assistant since July of 2007, and she has recently taken on the responsibilities of Office Manager, as well. She is involved in virtually every facet of our patients dental care. She has been in the dental field since 2000 and has comprehensive clinical experience to help provide our patients with the best possible treatment. As such, she truly appreciates the patient-centered, quality-oriented treatment that Dr. Hood renders. Jessica ensures that our patients are comfortable during their visits and in doing so, she hopes to help any anxious patients.

Our patients have frequently commented that she is an exceptionally caring and competent dental professional. Raised locally, in LaSalle, Jessica now lives in Greeley with her husband, Nate, and their two young boys. Nate is employed as a mechanic by G&M Implement Inc.

She is so excited to be a team member of Dr. Hood's Dental team. Her philosophy of treating patients like a family member fits right in with our patient-centered goal at our office. Cheryl is married to Todd who is a Geologist with WYDOT and they have a daughter, Emma who is in High School in Fort Collins and who is active in 4-H raising pygmy goats and mini donkeys.

Amy is the newest addition to our office, and has been in the dental profession for 15 years. Amy is a certified dental assistant and has previously managed other dental offices. She will be the voice you hear on the phone and will answer any questions you may have. Amys main objective is to make sure your dental visit is as simple and worthwhile as possible. She will have your insurance information complete, and will take care of all your financial needs. Amy enjoys developing relationships with each patient and making them feel at home while in the office.

Amy was born and raised in Windsor, CO. She is married to Will, who is a Safety and Training Manager for Haselden Construction. Together they have a wonderful son Nash who keeps them very busy. During their free time they enjoy biking, and spending time together as a family.

Dr. Hood is an extremely accomplished dental professional. I have been seeing him for 5 years now and I can no reason to ever look for another dentist. The staff is friendly, helpful, and professional. To call Dr. Hood a professional would be an understatement; he is superlative in his work and manner. I highly recommend him and his practice.
