I was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I graduated from Sandia High School and the University of New Mexico (UNM). I attended Washington University School of Dental Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri as one of two student scholars from the State of New Mexico.
I always dreamed of returning to Albuquerque to practice dentistry, my avocation, not just my job. I have been living that dream since 1984. I have a dream team that makes dentistry not only rewarding but fun. My office has been designed to provide maximum comfort and technology for my patients and staff. It is a pleasure to come to work every day.
I strongly believe in continuing education and to this end, I have achieved the following credentials and awards. I am Board certified in implant dentistry and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology. I am a Master in the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), a Fellow in the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID) and a Fellow in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. I also received the Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition Award from the AGD.
Furthermore, in addition to participating in continuing education, I provide dental education for other dentists. I frequently speak on implantology for the AAID, AGD, and dental implant companies (Basic Dental Implant and Ossotanium Implant). I mentor other dentists in an Albuquerque implant study club. I am also a reviewer for the Journal of Oral Implantology.
I am active in local, regional and national dental associations. I am a past president of the New Mexico AGD and formerly the delegate from New Mexico to the national AGD congress. I am a past chairperson for the national AGD Self Instruction Committee. I am a Past President for the Western District of the AAID serving New Mexico, California, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Arizona, Utah, Nevada, Wyoming, Montana, Hawaii, Alaska and in Canada, British Columbia and the Northwest Territories. I am a past Trustee for the AAID Board of Trustees.
I believe in giving back to the community. I volunteer my services to provide dental care to New Mexicans with limited incomes. I participate in the New Mexico Dental Associations donated dental services programs for adults and for children. My staff and I also participated in the New Mexico Mission of Mercy.
I am happily married to an attorney who is also my office manager. We have a daughter who graduated from UNM Law School and practices law as an assistant district attorney in Las Cruces. Our daughter was also a Lobo as an undergraduate. My parents and my brother also live in Albuquerque. Additionally, to make my family complete, I have a very energetic and spoiled, yellow lab and a pampered cat.

Recently I had a fall and contacted Dr. Holbrook for evaluation. After assessing, it was determined I would need a cap for my chipped tooth. Dr Holbrooks is knowledgeable, professional and most of all my capped tooth looks great. From the front desk, billing, to Dr Holbrook' s assistant, I felt taken care of and received the professional service one would want from an oral surgeon and his staff. Thank you Dr Holbrook and staff for your kindness and gentleness during this difficult time.

I have been seeing Dr. Holbrook for close to 30 years. On two occasions in years past, I have seen other dentists because of insurance changes. On both of those occasions the new dentist advised me that I needed thousands of dollars of care including multiple crowns and fillings. One of the dentists even claimed I had cavities that needed filling. Since I had seen Dr. Holbrook within 6 months of those visits, I chose to pay out of pocket to consult with him for a second opinion. In both cases, in spite of their professional assertions, Dr. Holbrook indicated that I needed no additional care; my teeth were fine. Those instances were years ago, and those putative cavities, etc. have never needed attention just as Dr. Holbrook said. While I appreciate that there is room for professional judgement in dentistry, I strongly recommend Dr. Holbrook, as his priority is clearly toward the preservation of the patient's teeth, limiting intervention to that which is medically necessary. I strongly recommend this practice.

I have been going to Dr. Holbrook for over 20 year's....before then I not seen a dentist for sometime... He understood my reason why, and he made me feel comfortable and for the first time I was confident that he would be the dentist for me. Thank you Dr for your great service... highly recommend...

My family has been going to Dr H. for a number of years. The office staff has had no turn over since I've been a patient - this tells me it is a great place to work and provide quality care. Everyone there is professional and friendly, I actually don't mind going to the dentist. Our family has had various dental needs and they have always been met with positive outcomes. Highly recommend.

Dr. Holbrook extracted two roots and implanted two implants yesterday. I grew up being afraid of dentists thanks to all the pain they inflicted. I was amazed at how pain free my experience was with Dr. Holbrook, both during the 2 hour procedure for the implants and especially since the procedure. I took two 800 mg ibuprofens yesterday (1 before leaving his office and the second one last night at 6 pm). I never felt any pain yesterday or during the night. This morning I was also pain free and did not take any ibuprofen. My only explanation is that I was lucky to be treated by such a gifted dentist. His office staff are great too. A nice touch they provide is Pandora music in the treatment room that is age matched to the patient (in my case Eagles, James Taylor, etc.).

Everyone in the Office is so Welcoming and Nice as soon as you walk into the door your checked in, with in minutes you are called back and made sure your comfortable. Greeted by Dr Holbrook and a explanation of what he is going to be doing. Great people who care, great work that is done with care.

Dr. Holbrook is the best dentist I have ever encountered. I have a dental condition caused by a lack of moisture in my mouth. Over sixty years of dental visits has left me with problem dental conditions which have required extractions, crowns, and implants. Until I allowed Dr. Holbrook to manage and treat my problems, I didn't smile. I was very uncomfortable in settings where my problem teeth were on display. Dr. Holbrook believes in painless dentistry, and uses state of the art appliances and tools to achieve results. He is cautious and demanding of his suppliers. He rejects crowns and appliances which do not meet his high standards. Dr. Holbrook and I agreed on a careful plan and budget to correct my issues. I am pleased to say that he has patiently worked through each step, and I am no longer afraid to smile. Perhaps the greatest strength of Dr. Holbrook is his office staff. They are friendly, helpful, and very efficient. It is clear that they enjoy their work environment, and that positive attitude comes across to me as a patient. Emergencies, which for me have been a consistent annoyance, are handled quickly. My appointments are on time, and there are no long waits in the dental chair or the waiting room. The patient mix I have observed ranges from youngsters to seniors. It is in this area where the excellent knowledge of the office staff shows best. They can help with insurance and claims of any kind. I am quite sincere when I say that this Dental Practice May be the best in New Mexico.
