Dr. Steven Alban believes dentistry joins the arts and sciences. After three years of studying for a Bachelor of Science from the University of Maryland, College Park, Dr. Alban was accepted to dental school. While he was studying at the University of Maryland, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, he was invited to participate in the Prosthodontic Clerkship program. This allowed him to focus on creating crowns, bridges, dentures, and restoring dental implants. He was invited to join Gamma Pi Delta, a Prosthodontic dental honor society, and at graduation was awarded the Maryland Academy of General Dentistry award for high proficiency in clinical care and patient management.
After earning his dental degree, Dr. Alban participated in a hospital residency program at Christiana Care hospital in Wilmington, DE. Dr. Alban was awarded the Biotene Award for Excellence in Hospital Dentistry. He has practiced privately in Delaware since 2000 and in Milford since 2005. His practice serves patients from Kent and Sussex Counties,including Felton, Lincoln, Milton, Harrington, Houston, DE.
As a dentist committed to providing excellent care to his patients, Dr. Alban frequently attends continuing education courses to educate himself about advances in dental practice and technology. As a dentist committed to access to care, Dr. Alban volunteers at the Hope Clinic in Dover, DE. He is an attending dentist with the Christiana Care General Dental residency program. Dr. Alban is a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Delaware State Dental Society, and the Kent-Sussex Dental Society.
Besides practicing dentistry, he enjoys music, playing board games, reading, and participating in 17th century historical re-enactments. Dr. Alban performs with the Dover Symphony Orchestra, where he plays the oboe and English horn.
Cherie graduated from the Del. Tech. Hygiene Program in 1993. She has been with the practice since completing school. She worked for Dr. Hendel for 12 years prior to Dr. Steves purchase of the practice. Cherie is married and the proud mother of three children.
Tammy graduated from the Del Tech Hygiene Program in 1992. She volunteers regularly at the Hope Clinic in Dover. She is married and has 2 sons. Tammy enjoys crafts, reading, spending time with her family and is active in her church. Tammy has been working for Dr. Steve since he bought the practice in 2005, having previously worked for Dr. Hendel. She enjoys talking to people and being part of a great dental team.
Garan resides in Bridgeville, Delaware. She earned her B.S. from Salisbury University in 2004 with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. In 2007 she received her Masters in Healthcare Administration from Wilmington University. Garan joined Dr. Albans practice in 2009 upon completion of the Dental Hygiene Program at Del Tech. She is a member of the American Dental Hygienists Association, having served on the Executive Board in Delaware for over 8 years. She was the associations president from 2015-2016. Garan is proud to be part of the faculty at Del. Tech. as a clinical hygiene instructor. She was honored to be selected as Dental Hygienist of the Year for the state of Delaware in 2016.
Our office manager, Chrissie, joined the practice in 2021. She is originally from Pennsylvania, where she was in specialty dentistry for 9+ years as a surgical dental assistant and a schedule coordinator. Her overall goal is to ensure that all patients have a smooth, positive experience from start to finish in our office. Outside of the office, Chrissie and her family are busy exploring all the good things Delaware has to offer. They enjoy the beach, hiking, and spending time together.
Robin started dental assisting in New Jersey in 1978. She left dental assisting in 1992 to be a stay at home mom. Robin moved to Delaware in 1998 became a patient of Dr. Hendel who ended up hiring her to help his wife run the front desk in 2004. She has continued to work for Dr. Alban since he took over the practice in 2005.
If you have received an invoice, you can thank Esther. She processes insurance claims, posts payments and mails invoices. Esther worked for Dr. Hendel for many years and has continued with Dr. Alban when he bought the practice in 2005. Most patients never see Esther because she begins her work in the evening when the other staff are heading home. In her spare time, Esther enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Maria was born in Maryland, but moved to Delaware in 2004. She graduated from Polytech High school in 2012 and completed her dental assisting program in 2019. Outside of the office Maria enjoys bike riding, photography and traveling.
Tracy is a Delaware native. She graduated from Harris School for Dental Assisting in 2011, and has been in the dental field ever since. When not helping people love their smile, she enjoys live music, camping, kayaking, and her animals.

My experience today was awesome the dental hygienist Tammy was a pleasure to meet. She explained to some issues that I had. She has a great personality and very friendly. I would recommend this dental office to my friends. And doctor Steven Alban is a great dentist.

Today was my first visit to Dr. Alban's office. The office staff was very friendly and welcoming. Sherry was amazing and helped put me at ease, as told her I was terrified of the dentist. Dr. Alban was very nice, explained what needed to be done, and calmed my fears. I highly recommend this dentist, he and his staff are second to none. Very happy!

We have been going to Dr. Alban for almost 10 years. His office isn't close to where we live but the experience there was worth the drive. Operative word is "was." Their rates have increased and there is an uncomfortable vibe in the office now. Both my husband and I talked to the "newish" office manager about a billing question and found her condescending and snotty. We're looking for a new dentist now.

As a new patient I was impressed with this office . The front desk staff was very welcoming. Sherry was terrific and with Dr Steve took great care with me, I did not feel rushed and all of my concerns were addressed in a professional yet friendly manner. I highly recommend this dental practice .

I have been going here since Dr. Alban started his practice in Milford. The front desk folks are friendly and helpful, all the hygienists are very good, and Dr. Alban rocks. The place is clean and bright, with the latest technology. I would highly recommend this practice.

It was a great experience. The entire staff was very professional. They followed all the present day procedures for keeping me and themselves protected from the covid-19 virus. I felt very comfortable the entire time. Today was a mouth filling experience as they made impressions for my new teeth. The taste is wonderful. Yuck! August 11th, 2022 I had a wonderful experience today with Tammy, just like always. She does a fantastic job cleaning my teeth. The office staff is always so pleasant and fun to talk to. Dr Steve always does a good job pulling out my tongue

Once again my absolute fear of needles was taken into consideration and Dr Alban and his assistant (I feel bad I didn't get her name because she is an angel) got me through one of 2 things in life I'm literally terrified by. Honestly I barely felt anything my body just goes into shut down automatically. And once again I feel like I have a beautiful smile because of the care these people take to keep my mouth healthy. If I had the money I'd send them on an all expenses paid vacation. They are all angels in my eyes
