The changes an orthodontist can achieve to the physical and emotionaldevelopment of a growing child are spectacular. It is also equally exciting to create wonderful dental and skeletal changes to our adult patients. I have been practicing orthodontics for more than 26 years and I find it exceptionally gratifying to work with patients of all ages with the goal of creating beautiful and functional smiles. There is nothing like a great smile!
I am a strong advocate of continuing my dental and orthodontic education. Part of my commitment to deliver exceptional care to my patients is my ongoing pursuit of new, evidence-based technologies and treatment methodologies that enable our practice to provide the most up-to-date, efficient, and affordable treatments.
Stern Orthodontics is about much more than just the orthodontist. I am surrounded by a fantastic group of people, many who have been in our practice for more than 25 years. I think that speaks volumes about who we are. Many of our current patients parents are thrilled to see the same wonderful faces as when they were patients themselves. The entire team shares a passion to give our patients an amazing orthodontic experience with outstanding treatment in a professional, warm, and fun environment.
I currently live in Cherry Hill, New Jersey with my wife Debra and three children, Sam, Carly, and Allison. I have many hobbies and interests outside of work. I am a avid snow skiier and biker. I am always with my Labrador retriever Phoebe, and depending on the season you will typically find me working in my yard or spending weekends at the Jersey shore.
Orthodontics is a profession that allows me to change lives one smile at a time. I believe loving what you do provides you with the excitement to begin each day with enthusiasm. My passion for excellence in both my clinical knowledge and my patient care allows me to give people beautiful smiles that will give them the self-esteem and confidence necessary to meet lifes challenges. I am fortunate to work with a talented and dedicated team that strives to build lasting relationships with our patients and their families. Our main goal is to provide quality, professional care in a warm and comfortable environment. I feel that together, we can achieve a healthy and beautiful smile for every patient.
I strive to keep abreast of the latest advances in my field through continuing educationand involvement with dental organizations. I regularly attend several orthodontic conferences and the American Dental Association conferences, and participate in online continuing education. My broad experience and thirst for continuing education has provided me with the recognition of the profound impact orthodontics can have on a persons life.
I grew up in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, where my father was an oral surgeon. I started out cleaning instruments and assisting in my fathers oral surgery office and, as a result, was motivated to attend dental school and to go on to an orthodontic residency. My two sisters and I all followed in our fathers footsteps and went to Temple Dental School; I went on to do an orthodontic residency and my sisters went on to do pediatric dentistry residencies.
When I am not working I can usually be found volunteering at my childrens schools, participatingat a variety of community events, or cheering on my kids at the sports fields and in the pool. I also enjoy spending time at the gym, hanging out with friends, and traveling the world with my family. I work hard to balance my personal and professional life. As a working mom, I am very sensitive to the needs and constraints of working parents and I constantly strive to cater to the needs of busy families.
We have been creating beautiful similes in Southern New Jersey longer than any other orthodontic practice. Our practice provides a warm, inviting, family-friendly atmosphere where our focus is to put you at ease.
Clinical Excellence: Dr. Stern is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, a distinction held by only 25% of orthodontists in the country. To become a board certified, an orthodontist has to pass a rigorous set of written and clinical examinations as well as a comprehensive review of his credentials.
Customized Treatment plans: We never look at a growing child without envisioning what that childs face will look like as an adult. When we meet a child, we look at the accompanying parent for features that have been passed along. This helps us greatly in designing an orthodontic treatment plan that will maximize the patients dental and facial esthetics.
Advanced Technology for an Advanced Smile: Length of time in practice alone is no badge of honor. However, staying current in refining and developing personalized treatments and blending them with the most advanced diagnostic and treatment technologies available such as digital X-rays, self-ligating braces, Invisalign and Invisalign Teen, AcceleDent, and surgical treatment therapies make it easier. We are an evidenced based practice, which means we carefully evaluate and incorporate new technologies only when they are clinically proven to succeed. We carefully select when these technologies should be utilized, while never taking our eye off the quality of results and the comfort, convenience, and cost to our patients.

After-Hours Emergencies: We are here for you no matter what! Were always on call during non-office hours, and will always be available to help in any situation that may arise. While orthodontic emergencies are rare, we are always here to help if they do.

Our Catty loves Ms Kim.. she always had a fear of dentistry but Ms Kim alongside Dr Stavicky & Dr Sterm is the perfect combination. The staff is also one of the best in town.. absolutely love & highly recommend Stern Orthodontis. We love you Ms Kim

Dr. Stavisky was very welcoming towards us at our initial appointment. She was accommodating and took the time to explain all of the steps involved in getting braces. The office staff is warm and friendly. Dr Sten's office is known to be inclusive of all kids, and that is one of the many reasons we chose Stern Orthodontics.

Horrible place. Do not take your children here. They are unprofessional and rude to even your children. My son had an appointment, they rudley whispered about our financial issues in front of my son and other paitients. They also didn't explain anything to him, and did not speak to him about anything when they were "fixing" his braces. To add to this, he entered with a broken bracket, and they did not even replace it. Unfriendly, rude, and unforgivable experience. You're only good for their money.

I went in the waiting room I was called in and my appointment was at 2:30 and I was there for a half an hour they kept skipping me and going to the white people then I was thinking about walking out but I was going to wait some more until they came to me after 30 minutes it's usually 10 minutes and I'm done. But this is ridiculous how I had to wait so long. I recommend if you don't have patience like I do do not go there overall there service is okay but if you don't have paticene don't come here at all.

I brought my daughter here for a second opinion after having a previous consultation with another local, well-known and boisterous orthodontist. That experience left me feeling like I was being sold a used car or a plate of hot wings (not the impression you want when considering the next years of your child's oral health and self image). Dr. Stern's office came highly recommended, and the difference was clear from the moment we entered the waiting room (which was sans pinball machines, thank goodness). The staff were warm and professional, and our wait was very short. We met with Dr. Stavisky, who introduced herself and then immediately began a conversation with my child. She worked to get to know her, rather than selling me some spiel. While the other office did about three minutes of an "examination" before laying out five years worth of payments for service, Dr. Stavisky explained that this office makes no claims to knowing the costs before a full diagnostic exam (xrays and molds). I appreciate their insistence on knowing my child as a unique person with her own needs, and I look forward to seeing them every few weeks for the next several years. I'll be sure to review further as we have more experiences here.

Thank you Dr stern and everyone at DR stern's office for giving me a the perfect smile i can't wait to see my smile when my braces come off soon . i will tell my family and friends about Dr stern so if they need braces or dental work they can maybe find this office to come and get a visit.
