Dr. Marvin Stephens has been in the exclusive practice of orthodontics in Tyler since June 1973. He earned his bachelors degree from Texas Tech University and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Baylor Dental School, where he graduated at the top of his class. Dr. Marvin was elected to the Baylor Odontological Honor Society and to Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a national honorary dental society.
He continued his dental education by completing a 24-month residency in orthodontics at Baylor, and obtained his Master of Science in dentistry. Baylor Orthodontic Department is regarded as one of the top programs in the world.
Dr. Marvin is a certified Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, a credential obtained through intense clinical and academic testing on a national level. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Southwestern Society of Orthodontists, Texas Orthodontic Association, American Dental Association, American College of Dentists, Texas Dental Association, East Texas Dental Society, Smith County Dental Society, Charles H. Tweed Orthodontic Study Group of Texas, Robert E. Gaylord Study Club, and other orthodontic groups.
Dr. Wayne Woods attended the University of Houston where he received a bachelors degree in Biology. He then followed his childhood dream of becoming a dentist and attended Baylor College of Dentistry where he received his Degree in Dentistry.
Dr. Woods remained at Baylor College of Dentistry for 12 years as a highly respected Clinical Instructor in the Department of Restorative Sciences, and was later promoted to an Associate Professor position. During his tenure at Baylor, he was honored to receive the Teacher of the Year award which is chosen by the students. While teaching at Baylor, he also maintained a private practice in restorative dentistry.
After twelve years of being an instructor, Dr. Woods returned to Baylor College of Dentistry as a student to specialize in Orthodontics, and received a Certificate in Orthodontics and a Master of Science in Dentistry. Since specializing, he practiced Orthodontics in the Park Cities area for 11 years, and now operates his own Orthodontic practice in North Dallas, where he continues to provide exceptional care to both adult and adolescent orthodontic patients.
In addition to his passion for Orthodontics, Dr. Woods devotes his time and talents serving in numerous positions of leadership within the Dallas County Dental Society and serves on the Board of the Dallas County Dental Society Foundation. He has held many offices and received many awards and honors within this organization including: Dallas County Dental Society President, New Dentist of the Year Award, Presidential Award and Dentist of the Year Award.
