Dr. Ruchlin and the members of our team are dedicated to serving our community with advanced treatments and comprehensive education. The following year he attended a most prestigious residency program at the veterans hospital in Buffalo. Dr. Ruchlin worked and studied advanced dentistry with three world-renowned specialists in periodontics, prosthodontics and endodontics. Dr. Ruchlin gained proficiency in these areas and graduated from the program with the highest honors.
Over the years, other general dentists and specialists in the Rochester area have referred to Dr. Ruchlin the more challenging cases, including complex restorative cases, cosmetic, implants and root canals. One of Dr. Ruchlins strengths is his knowledge and expertise in handling complex dental cases, including hybrid dentures with implants and full mouth rehabilitation. Dr. Ruchlin regularly participates in continuing education courses.
He is a clinical instructor in the residency program at Eastman School of Dentistry and has worked with the local hockey team, the Rochester Amerks. In addition, he has taught specialized courses to other dental professionals.
He is a board member of the Cancer Wellness Center of Buffalo and has taught courses to medical students in Buffalo. Dr. Ruchlin has also helped teach the high school outreach program at MCC for dental hygiene students. In his spare time, he enjoys golf, wood carving, world travel, and spending time with his wife and two children.
Dr. Ruchlin has received awards from the 7th District Dental Society for continuing education. In 2008, he received an award from the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry in the category of the best veneer cases in the country. In addition, Dr. Ruchlin received an award as one of the top dentists in America in 2009.
His professional affiliations include Monroe County Dental Society, 7th District Dental Society, American Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and Alpha Omega International Dental Society.
Kelly has been a Registered Hygienist since 2007. She is a graduate of Monroe Community College and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Marist College. Kelly is passionate about educating her patients on the links between oral and overall health. She is a member of the American Dental Hygienists Association and is always learning new techniques through continuing education classes. Kelly lives in Rochester and enjoys all things outdoors.
Karen received her Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene from Monroe Community College. Recently, she attended Roberts Wesleyan College to earn a Bachelors degree in Health Administration. Dedicated to learning and advancing her skills, Karen has earned her license to administer local anesthesia and is certified in laser bacterial reduction therapy as a treatment for gum disease.
In her spare time, Karen is the associate pastor at New Hope Free Methodist Church in Rochester and is the founder of Hope 4 Women Ministry. She also volunteers with many City of Rochester organizations, including Alternatives for Battered Women. Karen is a wife and mother of five and enjoys learning, reading, running and the outdoors.
After relocating to the Rochester area, Maria joined the dental practice of Stephen Ruchlin, DDS. Maria has more than 25 years of experience in the dental field. She enjoys taking continuing education courses to keep current on her knowledge base. She also enjoys helping patients assisting patients and helping them out of discomfort, straightening or whitening their teeth, or making financial arrangements so treatment is affordable.
Maria currently resides in Webster with her husband of 25 years and their two sons. They enjoy taking walks, biking, going to the movies, and attending all of the festivals that Rochester has to offer.
Brenda has been dental assisting for over eight years. She has been with Dr. Ruchlin for nine years. Brenda and Dr. Ruchlin share the same philosophy of patient care and she enjoys developing a good patient rapport.

My experience at Dr. Ruchlin's office was good. He is very careful and thorough and takes time to explain things. His staff is also very good and pleasant. I am a long-time patient and very satisfied with the care I receive here. Update I came for routine cleaning today and as always was well taken care of. Even when substitute staff is needed, it's evident they are chosen with care. I really appreciate it : )

Dr. Ruchlin and his staff were very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable in making sure that my customized mouthguard properly fit. They took the time to explain that it will take some time fr me to adjust to sleeping at night with the mouthguard. They noted that I can call them in 1 week to give them feedback on how my mouthguard is working out for me. In due time, I hope that the mouthguard will reduce my migraine headaches!

My dentist retired recently and I, unfortunately, broke part of a back molar tooth. I called Dr. Ruchlin's office to get a non-urgent emergency appointment. They were able to get me in promptly and take care of my needs. It was very efficient and comfortable. They were very professional and I highly recommend them.

Today I was in to see Dr. Ruchlin and his great staff to remove my back molar tooth that had, had a gold crown. This crown from decades ago had fallen off months before from the decay being so severe under it. It took some of the tooth with it, leaving a large around base without any height to grab onto! The Dr. Had to cut the tooth in 1/4's to have something to grab. I'm not one for pain at all. The Dr. Numbed me up so well that I felt very little. He did a stellar job going slowly, using his patience and finesse to get it all out. He was so thorough all the way. Another successful visit to Dr. Ruchlin and staff, who all make you feel like family! I highly recommend him for any dental need.
