He received his D.M.D. (Doctor of Dental Medicine) degree from the Medical College of Georgia in 1987. His undergraduate studies were completed at the University of Georgia in 1983 with a B.S. degree in Pre-Dental studies/Chemistry.

Hehas been a long time member of the American Dental Association, The North Carolina Dental Society, The Blue Ridge Dental Society, Wilkes County Chamber of Commerce and is on The Board for the Wilkes Public Health Dental Clinic.

Dr. Wessels practices all aspects of general dentistry, and he truly has a passion to deliver excellent, state of the art dentistry in as gentle a manner as possible. He also has a commitment to providing the latest innovative technology to his patients. He absolutely loves giving his patients beautiful smiles.

Dr. Wessels is originally from Western Virginia, and after graduating dental school he had a desire to return to the Blue Ridge Foothills/Mountain area. He is happily married to his wife, Gail, and they enjoy their three children; Brandon, Mark, & Lauren. In his spare time Dr. Wessels enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, and many different outdoor activities.

Stephanie is a graduate of West Wilkes High School and a graduate ofGardner-Webb University where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Healthcare Management. She has been with Dr. Wessels since 2012 and serves as the Insurance/FinancialCoordinator but has been working in the healthcare industry since 2008. She works hand in hand with our patients to ensure that they get all their dental needs scheduled and completed to achieve a healthy and happy smile! Outside of work, Stephanie enjoys playing the guitar but her favorite part of the day is coming home to herson whom she welcomed in 2015.

Meagan is a graduate of WilkesCentral High Schooland a 2012 graduate of Catawba Valley Community College where she received her Associates of Applied Science Degree in Dental Hygiene. She joined Dr. Wessels' office in 2016 and serves as our full time Dental Hygienist. Meagan has been married since 2014. She currently resides in Wilkes County with her husband and their German Shepherd, Rambo. Meagan enjoys being a certified personal trainer and spending time with family and friends.

Marianne studied Dental Assisting at Fayetteville Technical Community College. She has worked in general dentistry since 2004 and has over 10years of experience in Oral Surgery. She joined Dr. Wessels' office in February of 2017. Marianne is very passionate about implant and cosmetic dentistry, and strives to help our patients achieve their optimal oral health. She is from Raeford, NC and moved to the beautiful Appalachian Mountains in October, 2015. She is married and has two children. Marianne and her family enjoy outdoor activites and traveling.

Melanie is a 2002 Graduate if Catawba Valley Community College where she received her Associates of Applied Science Degree in Dental Hygiene. She joined Dr. Wessels' office in 2017 and serves as our Part Time Dental Hygienist. Melanie has been married since 2000 and has three children. Outside of work, Melanie enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Diane is a 1999 graduate of North Wilkes High School and a 2003 graduate of Wilkes Community College. She is DANB certified in radiology, infection control, and general chairside assisting. She is cross trained in office administration. She has been with Dr. Wessels since 2019. Diane has two children and one grandchild. She enjoys spending her spare time with her family and friends and traveling.

Erica grew up in Wilkesboro, NC and is a 2008 honors graduate from Wilkes Community College with a degree in Dental Assisting. She was awarded with a first-place accreditation in the 2008 Wilkes Community College Dental Assisting Table Clinics. Erica is a CDA II certified through the North Carolina Dental Assisting National Board. She has been with Dr. Wessels since 2020.Ericas favorite part of her job is getting to know patients and making them feel as comfortable as possible in the dental chair. To her, there is nothing more gratifying than helping patients overcome their dental fears. Erica married her husband Justin in 2009 and since then, they have welcomed two daughters. In her free time, she enjoys baking and spending time with her family.
