At the premier dental practice of Stephen J. Friedman, DDS, PA, the team is committed to providing you cosmetic, restorative, implant, orthodontic, and preventive dental services. With a practice location in the Kemp Mill Shopping Center in Silver Spring, Maryland, the team provides services to patients in the Greater Washington, DC area.
Dr. Friedman is a proud graduate of the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. Following graduation, he served his country by enlisting in the United States Public Health Service in St. Ignatius, Montana. There he spent three years as the Director of Dental Services in General Family Practice in the Indian Health Service. At the end of his tour of duty, he returned to the Washington DC area, where he opened his private general practice that continues today. Dr. Friedman is a member of the American Dental Associations Maryland State Dental Association, the Maryland Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He is a fellow of the American College of Dentists and participates regularly in local dental study groups.
The dental team offers patients a friendly, welcoming atmosphere and sets aside plenty of time to understand each patients unique goals and concerns prior to developing a dental treatment and wellness plan. All patients have access to complete state-of-the-art preventive, cosmetic and restorative services, including diagnostic smile design, monitoring cavities and periodontal disease risks, short term braces and clear aligners, single-day tooth-colored crowns (provided with the CEREC system), tooth whitening, and dental bonding with tooth-colored fillings and veneers.
They also offer a full-service Dental Hygiene Department that coaches and teaches an easy approach to effective plaque control, keeps your dental disease risks and susceptibility to a minimum, and effectively treats early-stage gum disease. We also offer a preventive care rinse program called CariFree that tests and treats decay susceptibility to help patients eliminate the risk of tooth decay. Regular oral cancer screenings are also performed as well as screenings for periodontal disease to help with early detection and prevention. New this year is an elective Wellness Coaching Program that helps patients chart a course for good health and well-being.

Dr. Friedman is an excellent dentist He always tells me what I need to know about my teeth and gums in a way that I understand. He has done cosmetic work, replaced a crown, and filled cavities for me. I feel very confortable and experience minimal pain during treatment. My teeth always look better when he is finished. His staff are very kind and professional. It is always a pleasant experience to be trreated by the team.

As always everyone there is very professional and courteous to the client. Dr Friedman is more like a friend then your dentist. I have had several dentists over the years but for the 25+ years I have been going to Dr Friedman he is by far the best I have ever gone to. I would highly recommend his services.
