Dr. Stein graduated from The University of Tennessee in Memphis in 1978. Prior to making Nashville his home, he practiced in Chattanooga (where he was born and raised) for 35 years. He completes approximately 20 hours of CE training each year, as well as a variety of seminars, workshops, and classes outside the requirements of dentistry so that he can remain current on advancements in related fields.
Unlike many dentists, Dr. Stein is a bread and butter oral care provider who will use the simplest methods possible to achieve desired results. His goal as a dentist is to be a stable source of quality education, dental care, and service to each of his patients so that they can achieve optimal oral health and improved quality of living. He loves his field of work and is fully committed to performing at a professional level.
Dr. Stein wants his patients to feel like family, so he honors the golden rules of Treat others the way you want to be treated and Do not do unto another what you dont want them to do to you. In addition to being a dedicated dental care provider, Dr. Stein is also deeply involved in many humanitarian causes, for which he has made several charitable contributions and received numerous awards.
Dr. Stein is married and has three children, one son and two daughters. He and his family enjoy spending time together reading, telling jokes, and watching movies. When not at the office, Dr. Stein can be found grilling in his backyard, something he finds extremely enjoyable and relaxing.

Stay away! I paid $3600 for dental/root canal treatment. (First mistake). The office will not refund me even through they never completed. Liss, office manager apologized for language barrier the receptionist has. But then the office manager , After multiple attempts to set a time or to get a refund with the office manager, she yelled and was ABSOLUTELY rude. Save yourself a headache. They will charge you double price and keep your money. Now they will not even respond. The dentist is actually a funny guy, doubt he has a clue how unruly his staff is. They rob people of $$$$$$$. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!! Do yourself another favor read his reviews where they can't delete bad reviews. 2.8 stars on HealthGrade!!! All for taking $$ and lousy work

Everyone are nice and professional. Giving you the best treatment that you need and over all service I received was so great. Shout out to MP for making me comfortable especially with the needles.

I called Stein Dental Care one morning in the throes of the most excruciating tooth pain I've ever experienced, & they were able to get me in for treatment immediately. The office staff made such a great, genuinely caring impression from the moment they answered my call, and continue to provide top notch client care thru every interaction. Dr. Stein is personable and funny, and took the time to explain the diagnosis as well as the treatment plan in terms I could easily understand. I would give 5 stars if not for how exorbitantly expensive dental care, including Stein's, seems to be!

Wonderful experiences at Dr. Stein's office! I've been well cared for with all of the dental work I need. This morning I brought my two daughters for cleanings. It was my youngest's first time, and the hygienists were so patient and sweet with her. She said she loves the dentist.

I am Troi's mother, I am very pleased with the warm reception, Troi was not afraid that he was at the doctor and what impressed me the most was the acceptance of the visit after working hours just because he was a child and it was almost an emergency, Troi had collapsed and moved her first tooth...thanks so much for the great work you do!

Dr. Stein and his staff were very knowledgeable, courteous, and kind. SO GLAD he was able to see me on Saturday with a dental emergency. Could not have been a better experience.

I had a cracked tooth and was in severe pain, not only were they kind enough to see me the same day on a Saturday but were able to help me. The process was fast and done with the best care. The procedure and treatment was explained to me thoroughly and Dr. Stein answered all my questions. I cannot recommend enough!

Hi I'm Desmond and Stein Dental Deserves a five star rating from me. EVERYONE was very professional and they communicated any and everything you need done. They listen as well. My smile was gradually fading away until Melonie/Melon did such an amazing Job to my teeth. I haven't had my teeth done since 2017 and she brought me back to life. And the touch of her hands during the work was very gentle and efficient. I recommend Stein Dental care to eveyone.

Dear Grizellda, I am writing to provide a review for Dr. Stein. I will start by saying I cannot say enough about how much I value my teeth. I didn't get the good teeth genes. The very first time I went to Dr. Stein, I was in terrible pain. I had called my dentist of many many years, at 7 AM in the morning, and they said they could not see me until later that afternoon. When I called Dr. Stein, they told me to come on immediately. I wouldn't be writing if not to tell you that from then on Dr. Stein took more than excellent care of me. As an example, the last time I needed a root canal at my former dentist, I was told he could not perform it and he sent me to Brentwood, from Green Hills, to what I think was a dental school, where a couple of very young people tried desperately to make a machine work, and when they couldn't they x-rayed my face more than 30 times that morning, to make sure the depth was correct. It was a nightmare. Dr. Stein is a real doctor. If you're really in trouble he won't be sending you someplace else to get help. And if you really care about your teeth, like I do, you should never miss a cleaning with Minira. And since dental work is not free, Dr. Stein sat with me on multiple occasions with a whiteboard and a marker in his hand explaining to me why the costs were what they were and what I would be getting for my money, and what were my options to pay for it. If you're really in trouble, nobody has to walk away from Dr. Stein's office without relief. Anyway like I said at the beginning I can't say enough so I will stop here. Nobody likes to go to the dentist, but I do like Dr. Stein! Sincerely. Gary Cannizzo.
