Dr. Nate and Lauren Steim, were born and raised in Port Angeles. It gives them great pride to be able to serve the community that they were raised in. Dr. Nate and Lauren both started their academic journey at South Puget Sound Community College. From there they transferred to Washington State University to finish their Bachelor of Sciences. They went on to complete their doctorates at the University of Detroit School of Dentistry. They have a daughter, Clara, and two friendly bulldogs, Bentley and Odin.
Dr. Nates goal is to help people feel comfortable in the dental chair, whether the patient enjoys coming to the dentist or tends to avoid it. He has his own fears when he is the patient, so he understands that it takes trust and compassion to overcome any anxiety associated with a dental visit. Dr. Nate is trained to treat the mouth as a window to your overall health and this connection drives him to improve a persons well-being.
Patients appreciate the in-depth explanation that Dr. Nate provides when discussing the benefits and drawbacks of their personalized dental care plan. His intention is to ensure that each patient can make an informed decision on their oral health. Dr. Nate routinely takes pre and post-operative intraoral photos so the patient can actually see the results in their own mouth. This gives each patient a clear understanding and helps build strong relationships.
Dr. Lauren provides a patient-centered experience. She accomplishes this by understanding your personal dental goals and providing realistic options to accomplish them together. She is committed to building strong relationships, with trust and communication as the foundation to delivering excellent dental care.
She enjoys treating patients of all ages and looks forward to providing a family dental home. From a childs first tooth, to their first set of permanent teeth, she is enthusiastic about playing her role in that transformation. Whether you come in for routine visits or you havent been to a dentist in a long time, it is important that patients know that judgment does not exist in her chair. She looks forward to helping you overcome any fear you have about being at the dentist and it is her goal to help patients feel confident in their smile.
Lauries favorite part of being a hygienist is having the ability to be a partner in her patients oral health and putting them at ease. Her experience and dedication are apparent right away when meeting her. In fact, she was named Dental Hygienist of the Year in 2006 for the State of Idaho.
Sarah grew up with multiple dental issues as a child but was lucky enough to have access to excellent dental care with her mom and grandma both being dental assistants. The compassionate care and education that her dental team invested in her is now paid forward; she focuses on a team approach with her patients to make sure they have clean teeth and have all their questions answered about their care specifically. Ask questions, she loves it!
Sarah is a native of Minnesota who has hiked and camped in the Sequim area for 25 years. She graduated from Seattle Central College. When she isnt at the office youll find her gardening, cooking, relaxing with family, friends and her Ragdoll Hannah Blue or hitting the trails with her Australian Shepard Luca.
Megan is a registered dental assistant with more than 12 years experience. She is always sure to explain every detail to the patient in order to make them feel comfortable, and always takes the time to get to know patients personally.
When you meet Kristina, she always has a smile on her face and is in a bright mood. She looks forward to coming to work every day and loves the family-like atmosphere that Steim Family Dentistry provides. Her favorite part of dentistry is being able to connect with patients and listen to their life stories.
Kristina has an interesting story of her own. Born in Russia and adopted at age 5, she grew up with four siblings in Port Angeles. She enjoys living the PNW lifestyle to the fullest where you can find her hiking with her black lab in tow, as well as working out at the gym. She is also working towards earning a business management/accounting degree.
Saydee has been a dental assistant since 2019. You can always look for a smile and a good story about the beautiful northwest, where her family has been located since the late 1800s. Her favorite things about the office (besides her amazing coworkers) are getting to meet all the amazing patients, hearing their stories, and helping them when needed with dental issues.

This place has given me NO reason to trust it at all. I'm really saddened because I was referred by people I trusted and I really thought I could trust this place. I made a SIMPLE request: give me a ballpark price for what I need, because my income is limited. 1st email ignored it and told me to sign up. No signature for who I was talking to, nothing. But...Fine. Did so. Still no prices up until the day they called to put me on the schedule. I asked again how much the session was going to cost. OVER TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS. Just to be SEEN. What would have happened if I hadn't asked? Was I just gonna be out a week's pay because someone dropped the ball? I absolutely cannot stand by any healthcare professional that plays with my money like it's Monopoly. If you're going to charge insane amounts of money for ordinary healthcare in the richest nation on earth, have a little menu or SOMETHING. Moving on to find someone that actually cares. RESPONSE TO OWNER'S RESPONSE 2022/11/1: "Less than ideal"? It's flat out SLOPPY! I can see you're not even going to attempt to make it right in any way. No token of goodwill that it won't happen in the future, no recommendations for where to go instead, no offers, no solutions. I have reason to believe the people that like you, genuinely feel that way. What, are they all rich people? My teeth are rotting out of my face. There's more dentists than coffee shops here. It's REALLY NOT THAT HARD to get some simple answers for simple questions. You're disgusting.

Was having jaw and tooth pain, they got me in the next day when other Dentist said 6 months before they could see me. Clinic was clean, staff was amazing. The Dr. showed options for my tooth that had a bad previous root canal and we agreed on an extraction and implant. Pricing was fair and I look forward to completing my work and being pain free. Thanks again.

I'm a new patient to Steim Family Dentistry in Sequim and the entire staff is exceptional. They were able to get me in immediately as I had been experiencing some dental pain. They found the problem immediately, which my old dentist could never find, and it was fixed in a few weeks. Every person you see is cheerful and takes the time to make sure the patients are comfortable. This was the best, most positive, dental experience I've ever had. Thank you Steim Family.

I appreciate the excellent service I have received at this dental clinic. The staff are friendly, courteous & professional. My somewhat urgent need was scheduled in a timely manner. During the visits, Dr Nate took time to thoroughly explain all issues and to provide a gameplan which included both immediate & long-term assessment. He also suggested OTC products unknown to me that have proven effective for his patients & will augment improved at-home care. His emphasis is proactive preventative care. Overall I appreciate the courteous, relaxed, professional, & excellent attention-to-detail service I have received. Yes, I will recommend this clinic with high marks. Thanks all, for the caring service I received from everyone on the Steim family dentistry team.

I have had a fear of dentists for more than 50 years due to a very bad experience. Since that time I have seen many other dentists that were competent and got me to the point where I was somewhat comfortable. Until Dr. Steim and his staff, I have never felt so secure in the knowledge that I was in the most capable and caring hands I had ever experienced. I am always cautious about recommending any clinic, physicians, or medical facilities to any of my friends.....however,, in the case of Dr. Steim and his very competent staff, I would not think twice about recommending anyone, young, old or inbetween to put their trust and confidence in Steim Family Dentistry of Sequim.

Very upbeat, welcoming staff; friendly and confident. Dr. Steim is patient in asking all the questions you have as well as explaining what he's doing while doing it while being concerned about your comfort. I understand his wife recently joined the practice and with all the cars in their parking lot, they must be doing well.

Dr. Steim is doing a crown for me, with the termporary one being put on today. He was wonderful, explaining what he was doing as he went along. I really appreciated his numbing the gums before using the needle to numb the mouth further, and there was no pain, as he promised. He is exact, thorough and very meticulous. We are lucky to have him in our city!

Recently moved to Sequim and needed to find a dentist. Like most people, I googled to check out local dentists and read reviews! Steim Family Dentistry was rated 5 stars and Is located close to our home. The dental office scheduled my wife and I within a month for our initial appointment and mailed us the required forms prior to our appointment. After our initial appointment, the dental office was able to schedule cleanings for both of us and 2 crown appointments for me within several weeks! The staff is very nice and welcoming. Dr. Steim very kindly fit me in for an emergency visit and after carefully reviewing my tooth problem fixed it. He is very gentle and thoughtful in the way he works, and has excellent staff to support him in his work. I'm very happy he is my dentist.

Good explanation of teeth using photos, xrays and talking. Dr. Lauren Stein was very good. The dental hygienist, Lori was fabulous. I usually ask for my mouth tobe numbed in sensitive spots yet she was gentle so I didn't need numbing. Good cleaning, x-ray and exam visit.

Dr. Steim and his staff were amazing- from the start, when I called. Attentive, professional, above the cusp knowledgable.. and the part that meant the most to me, CARING. They made a hard visit for me easy and hopeful. And even waived my fee because I had to wait a little longer because of an emergency patient! Which I didn't mind at all and respected, I didn't expect that it was a big blessing for me too. I will recommend them to anyone that asks and always use trust them with my work personally.
