As a general dentist, Dr. Deirmenjian is devoted to providing quality, rewarding, and compassionate care to every patient that visits him. Serving as the founder and CEO of B. Deirmenjian and Affiliates, he serves patients at many multi-specialty facilities in California, including Los Angeles, San Gabriel Valley, Riverside and San Bernardino counties and has just added three new locations in the San Diego area.
With nineteen locations in California, B. Deirmenjian and Affiliates serve patients of all ages, from all backgrounds, and from every walk of life. The team of specialists, general dentists, assistants, and benefit coordinators offer a number of services, including: cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, endodontics, family dentistry, oral surgery, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, and periodontics. They are dedicated to making dental care rewarding, so that individuals have a reason to share their smile.
Before entering private practice, Dr. Deirmenjian served as Dental Director at Guards Dental, where he demonstrated strong leadership skills in operating over 40 locations. Subsequently, he established his own family dental private practices, Smiles West, Desert Dental Group, and Ponderosa Dental Group.
To prepare for his career, he completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California at Irvine, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in 1988. Furthering his studies, he went on to obtain his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in 1999.
Remaining abreast of the latest dental developments, Dr. Deirmenjian is an active member of the American Dental Association and the California Dental Association. He is also a peer-review member at MetLife Insurance and Liberty Dental, sits on the advisory committee of Henry Schein Dental, is a UCLA adjunct professor, and is board-certified by the Dental Board of California.

Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy.
An active member of his community, Dr. Deirmenjian truly enjoys helping the less fortunate and volunteering when he can with food drives and community outreach initiatives. Previously, he has participated in pro bono work for human trafficking victims in the Los Angeles area. He was also involved in a health fair head-start program, senior citizens program, and maintained an affiliation with Veteran Affairs.
Dr. Najlaa Dawood has been practicing in San Diego since 2003. She is accustomed to carrying out outstanding dental procedures to help her patients keep a healthy smile. Dr. Dawood likes to stay up-to-date with technology and new techniques that will benefit her patients. Dr. Dawood has lived in the area for many years and is proud to call El Cajon home. She enjoys participating in community events and loves to see patients smile!
Dr. David Gonzalez was born and raised in Puerto Rico. He attended dental school at Marquette University School of Dentistry in Milwaukee, focusing on in-patient care and quality of service, paying detailed attention to individual patients needs. In 1996, Dr. Gonzalez ran his own private dental practice in Puerto Rico for 10 years before relocating to San Diego in 2007. Like many locals, Dr. Gonzalez came to visit San Diego and fell in love with the weather, the scenery, the food, and the people. Dr. Gonzalez is a car enthusiast who knows his way around the kitchen and enjoys outdoor activities.
As a teenager, Dr. Robert Hackim went through his own orthodontic treatment and knew right away that he wanted to pursue a career in dentistry. This San Diego native attended dental school at the University of the Pacific and obtained his orthodontic degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He comes with over 30 years of orthodontic experience. Dr. Hackim comes from a large family consisting of 10 siblings. His wife is a nurse who has four siblings of her own. The Hackim family have one daughter and enjoy spending their free time with their extended family. They like to travel but love living in San Diego.
Dr. Mirwais Hussainy has been in practice since 2003. He is board certified with the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and provides a variety of services including oral cancer biopsies, bone grafting, cosmetic surgery, dental implants, dentoalveolar surgery, wisdom teeth extractions, gummy smile surgery, facial trauma surgery, sinus lift, TMJ disorder treatment, pre-prosthetic surgery, orthodontic exposure of teeth and orthographic surgery. He treats adults, teenagers and children starting at the age of 7. He is fluent in English and Persian.

I did not enjoy my visit i went to have a tooth pull my face was swollen they were more worried about me being able to buy some bone powder for $650 then they were worried about my health I was supposed to receive prescriptions after I did not get what they wanted me to I haI had to call Them for my prescriptions I will never go there again

They use a call center so you cannot get accurate info, nor can you get ahold of actual staff. They claim to accept certain insurances and they don't. They operate illegally and the customer service at the office is preposterous. They overbook and charge insurance for things that were not done.

I had a terrible experience.. First they tried to get me to get something more expensive. Then they came back with the correct co-payment but wanted to charge me 1200.00 lab fees. I called my dental insurance the next morning and the only thing I was to pay was my co-pay. They called Steele Canyon and explained everything to them and the rep from my dental office said they are the rudest dental office they have ever dealt with. I haven't heard a word from them regarding the mistake that they made with my estimate. I give them NO stars.

Worse experience I have ever had and they didn't even do work! For starters they are extremely unprofessional and there is no privacy here. They change my appointment time from afternoon to early morning ! They were discussing individuals by name right at the front desk. I literally watched her tell the other lady what to say to me when she called me back of course it was MONEY. It turns out medical pays for taking out wisdom teeth but not putring in bone after which they totaled to a whopping 3900 and mentioned their care credit. Too disorganized and hidden agendas save your time. Mind you I waited over a month since their oral surgeon is only there 1 Tuesday a month.

Dr. Dawood is the best and always has been. She understands my needs as a senior citizen. From cleanings to crowns she is does superior work and is always concerned her patients have the care they need. I especially like her small office and friendly staff.

I was not correctly numbed when they pulled my tooth I was in so much pain I could feel the nerve shocking me as she pulled. I was in excruciating pain.

Awesome place! Great staff and very friendly. I had x-rays, a crown, veneer and a cleaning done all in one day! Other dentists I have gone to usually only do an exam the first day and then make another appointment for what I actually came in for. I'm grateful that Steele Canyon Smiles values my time and I look forward to seeing them again.

Unfortunately I don't have a positive thing to say about this establishment. I was told they accepted Medicare. They also had already approved it through Medicare to pull 2 teeth from the senior gentleman I care for. Took him back and came back out. Now they say he needs bone grafts if they pull the 2 teeth. Medicare doesn't cover bone grafts. I believe this is something that should have been spoke of right after x-rays! Not when he's in the chair for oral surgery. We were even told if we decided to leave the current appointment, if we came back another time the price per tooth would go up. The carpeting in this place was absolutely filthy too. I now understand how these seniors and special needs or for that matter are taken advantage of. Needless to say, we left.
