Captain Sky wanted to be a pediatric dentist since the tender age of eight. An accidental tumble introduced his front teeth to the pavement and the subsequent visits to his pediatric dentist, Dr. Best, cemented his destiny. Raised in NYC, The Captain carved out a name for himself as a child actor appearing in The Radio City Christmas Spectacular, Mr. Destiny, Perfect Harmony and as the Yo Spike, I got the Motts! kid. He received his B.A. in Government from Hamilton College and was granted his dental degree from New York University College of Dentistry. After completing his Pediatric Dental Residency at Jacobi Medical Center, he soon became board certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
An active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, he recently was awarded Best Kids Dentist in the Milky Way as voted by the Martian Mother Alliance. He is an attending faculty member at Morristown Medical Center and has been on staff at St. Josephs University Medical Center, New York College of Dentistry, North Central Bronx Hospital, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and Jacobi Medical Center. While on leave, he is the proud father of ensigns Alexandra and Ford and enjoys singing show tunes, collecting toys, organizing clutter, and exploring the cosmos and dollar stores.
He built Starship Pediatric Dentistry with Commander Jen to be the crown jewel of the fleet; known across the galaxy for Carabellis Toy Shelf, photo ops and always trying to do the right thing. Captain Skys greatest pride is rescuing a nervous child by creating a trust that empowers them with the ability to brave what can sometimes be a stressful experience. Over the last two decades of providing dental care, he has developed a practice philosophy of honest conservative practicality. Highly entertaining through puppetry, character portrayal, and storytelling, he provides quality dental care within a cosmic experience that leaves children happy and eager to return.
Dr. Jen always knew that she wanted a profession that would allow her to work with children and adolescents. After discovering that she also loved teeth, her passion for pediatric dentistry was born. Dr. Jen and Dr. Sky started Starship with the intention of creating a relaxed and fun environment to help children get excited about the dentist. Dr. Jen believes strongly in the importance of prevention in overall oral health and loves providing patient and parent education. She enjoys seeing the happy faces of her patients every day and feels fortunate to have the opportunity to see them grow throughout the years.
Dr. Jen was born and raised in Chatham, New Jersey, and attended Southern Boulevard School, Chatham Middle School, and Chatham High School. She graduated Cum Laude from Dartmouth College and then earned her doctorate of Dental Surgery from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. Knowing that pediatrics was her true passion, she went on to Jacobi Medical Center at Albert Einstein School of Medicine to complete her post-graduate education in Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Jen now specializes in providing comprehensive care to infants, children, adolescents, and patients with special needs. She is board certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and is CPR and Pediatric Advanced Life Support certified. Dr. Jen is fully dedicated to her patients and to providing the best possible care to every child.
When Dr. Jen is not at the office, she can be found chasing after her two favorite pediatric patients, her kids, Chase and Jordan. She and her husband Andrew live in Summit where they enjoy spending time with family, friends, and neighbors. Dr. Jen loves summertime, hanging out with her family at the pool, and vacationing at the Jersey Shore.
After graduating Magna cum Laude with a B.A. in Biology and a Doctorate in Dental Surgery in 2013, she moved to Seattle to complete her General Practice Residency at Swedish Medical Center. While working as a general dentist in Massachusetts, Dr. G discovered her love for pediatric dentistry and enrolled at St. Barnabas Hospital to specialize. She graduated in 2018 after serving as chief resident in her final year. She is a board-certified member of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. G is fluent in Hindi and Marathi and is comfortable speaking dental Spanish. When shes not chasing sugar bugs away, Dr. G enjoys traveling to new places or spending time with her family and her dog, Cola.
Carl is a Martian from the Fuzz Sector. Nave to a fault and susceptible to the Count of Decays persuasion, he is well known for his sweet tooth and poor diet choices. Carl accidentally found himself a permanent stowaway on the starship when he became enamored by our supply of sugarless lollipops with xylitol. Through counseling, he is starting to make wiser dietary choices and tries to help our cadets do the same.
Commander Brace McGill is a lab tech from Arkansas on Earth, although she has spent extensive time in the titanium mines of Granok honing her craft. If you are in need of a space maintainer or active appliance, she can fabricate one for you with one eye closed in as much time as it takes you to say.whats that? She already made it. Told you she was fast.
Corporal Space Monkey is our head of security and can usually be found chilling on a console or in one of the brush-shuttles. He is always on the lookout and first to let out his primal scream at the slightest hint of a Cavity Invasion or nefarious Plaque Spy. While on shore leave, he loves eating blue noodle slugs and having new cadets brush his teeth.
Bristle is our resident Fluoridian, and thus, was born with only two teeth to last a lifetime. He likes walks on moon craters, romantic comedies and telling jokes. He will often accompany us on our galactic outreaches and adores talking to kids.
McCavity is Bristles cousin and had a wild youth full of soda pop, sticky-zaffy-taffy and poor brushing habits. Left with only one tooth, old chopper, he likes to help rehabilitate and educate our patients who prefer to live dangerously.
Lt. Starbrush is our in-flight morale and social media officer. He likes to take candid office shots, post dental prose on twitter and organize crazy fun days to break up the monotony of space travel.
Pauline was the first Earthling to attend Lady Quantras Prep School for Enigmatic Life-forms. She started as a dental assistant during The Amalgam Wars and received The Golden Tooth in Linguistics for her mastery of the Turkish and Armenian languages. Aspiring to further her knowledge, she obtained her degree and license in dental hygiene from NYUCDs Galactic Campus.
Born in Australia, Charlotte served as an assistant at a Pediatric Dental outpost in the Fornax Quadrant for eight years before returning to Earth. She received her Dental Hygiene degree from Bergen C.C. Her thesis involved the tartar stratification of the sixth moon of Epsilon Eridani. Always handy with toothpaste and floss, she traverses the decks of the starship making sure the crew is brushing two times a day.
Alyssa is a hygiene powerhouse who comes to StarshipPD from Bergen C.C. along with a certificate in Space Flight from Golkars Rocket School West. Shes performed piano recitals for countless heads of planets and the Galactic Congress of Ryujin-52.

My son liked it at first but we had a few problems with this practice so we ended up leaving. They really push the use of nitrous (apparently this is common and really caused us to have to look elsewhere) which was the main reason I left. They are not very forgiving of cancellations due to illness/emergency, which I thought was surprising given everything going on with Covid. They also overbook and keep taking too many clients so it was very hard to get my son an appointment for a problem visit. Don't be surprised if you do have to cancel a few times that you will get a lecture because they take notes on why you cancel, which I thought was terrible (they did not charge us a cancellation fee but only after an argument)...Luckily we found a great dentist who really does not understand why they were recommending nitrous because my son is great sitting in the chair, no issues.

Thank you star ship dentistry from the bottom of my heart! Let me first off by saying my daughter is 10 and the most difficult patient you can deal with I let star ship dentistry know ahead of time and they made the time and commitment to give my daughter 100% of care to get her out or pain she had to cavities that were infected! They got the 2 teeth out safely even with my daughter not participating they new how to handle and deal with her in a way I never seen from any other practice my daughter quickly bounced back without enduring any pain! She is now at home taking it easy but smiling and relived of discomfort TY STARSHIP DENTISTRY NURSES AND STAFF 100 stars AMZING I have referred all of my friends with special needs children to this practice!!!!! I feel so blessed to have met people who will not turn my daughter away just because she's more difficult to deal with TY TY TY

The staffs are friendly, accommodating, caring and professional. My 2yo daughter's gum was swollen and bleeding a lot. We urgently needed to bring her in asap and understanding the urgency of the situation, the office compassionately offers to see my toddler the next day. As a first-time parent, I was terrified to the bone seeing my toddler gum bleeding and you don't know what caused it. Both Dr. Berdahl and Dr. Wilbur examined her and concluded it was most likely gingivitis. They said its nothing to worry about after seeing how terrified I was but also don't be complacent and doing a better job brushing her teeth. About a week later, they called to followed up as promised and truth to their words her gum stopped bleeding and swollen is gone after doing a better job of brushing her teeth. Their compassion and expertise really show in this experience. These two traits are what makes the best doctors! Thank you for the wonderful service! As a small business owner nearby, I will be referring many clients to your office! BTW the kids seem to enjoy the Starship theme. It is inviting and non-intimidating for the kids. Very smart concept since most kids dread going to the dentist.

Dr Jen is an angel to my family!!! I was seeking second opinion and was referred by my friend to Starship. Surprisingly, the dentist and the hygienist are super patient and compassionate here unlike my prior experience with another dentistry. Even with my daughter crying and resisting, Dr Jen is still able to use "tricks" to calm my daughter down and making sure she had a pleasant experience. Dr Jen is truly a gem!!!

This place is a kids heaven with all the toys and sounds of sci Fi and fantasy. Little ones love the iPads and movies while the docs do the cleanings and work on the teeth.

The place was great until the male dentist started treating kids and parents like they owe him something. No hello no goodbye and my son left the office traumatized by the way he was treated. Shame on me for not getting him from out of that chair and walking out! You work for me and not the other way around! You have no business working with children!!

Dr. Sky is such an amazing dentist! My children love him so much and they have been with him since 2010. We used to go to his Staten Island clinic and when we moved in Georgia, we will always come back for my children routine check up whenever we visit our family in NY. No matter how far his clinic, its worth enough going to a dentist who goes above and beyond! The manner of treating kids is exceptional! He knows how to deal well with his patients. In addition , he is the kind of dentist that you will trust because he will only do what is really necessary. Likewise, he will assist you in any ways with your financial issues. I can only say besides being the best dentist ever, his clinic in Madison NJ is awesome! And the whole staff there are super nice, friendly and wonderful! And his treats are extra special too!

The facility at Starship is amazing. My kids love to go to the dentist. The hygienists are very patient and get the kids in and out. I have had great experiences with both Drs. Jen and Dr. Sky. My 5 year old daughter had the start of cavities and instead of jumping to fill them, Dr. Sky took time to explain my options and try some preventative medicine first. He was patient and caring in everything he did.

This was our first trip to Starship Dentistry. My daughter gets very nervous about new doctors and dentists and I was worried all day about how it would go. They staff is super friendly and they made my daughter feel so comfortable and at ease. I would highly recommend this office for anyone looking for a pediatric dentist. They are top notch!

Their service, from support team members to the physician's, is legit "to infinity & beyond"!! My son has been going here since he had teeth and I plan to bring him until he gets too big for their exam chairs!! This isn't your ordinary trip to the dentist...there isn't a nasty receptionists nor a ridiculous wait time. They have hours that accommodate working families and, the children don't even feel they are at the dentist...they are at the "space ship"!! I highly recommend this practice to any family - I drive an hour to each appointment and it's well worth the time and tolls paid!
