Dr. Kip Nielson was born and raised in North Ogden, Utah. He has an older brother and is a twin. His twin brother is Dr. Cody, who is also a practicing dentist here at StarLight Dental. They are best friends and love that they have the opportunity to practice dentistry together.
Following high school graduation, Dr. Nielson spent two years as a missionary in El Salvador where he became a fluent speaker of the Spanish language and enjoys using his language skills in his profession as a dentist.
Upon completion of his missionary endeavor, Dr. Nielson attended Brigham Young University, receiving a bachelors degree in Spanish. He played football at BYU where he was named defensive rookie of the year, an all-academic first team selection of the Mountain West Conference, and a Verizon Wireless All Area Academic First Team selection. While attending BYU, he met and married the love of his life, Kajsa Ferguson. After they both graduated in 2004, they moved to Texas where he attended dental school at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Following graduation, he and his family moved to the Austin Area and joined his father-in-law (Dr. Bob Ferguson) at StarLight Dental. It has been an incredibly unique and special opportunity to be part of an amazing family practice with his father-in-law and twin brother.
Dr. Nielson and his wife, Kajsa, have been married for almost 18 years and have been blessed with three wonderful children, two girls and a boy. Dr. Nielson's greatest joy is his family and he loves spending time with them.
Dr. Nielson also enjoys taking family vacations, spending time outdoors, working out, and playing and watching sports. His family actively participates in their church, and looks for ways to give back to the community.

Dr. Cody Nielson grew up in North Ogden, Utah with his twin brother Dr. Kip Nielson. He graduated from Fremont High School in 1998, and served a two year mission for his church in Costa Rica. He loved his time in Costa Rica, and during this time he became fluent in the Spanish language. He attended Brigham Young University majoring in Spanish and pre medicine. He graduated in April 2004, and just two weeks later moved to Indianapolis Indiana to attend dental school at Indiana University School of Dentistry.
He met and married his sweetheart Ashley Nielson while both were attending college in Utah. They have now been married for almost 17 years, and have four beautiful children together. They love to spend time as a family traveling, being outdoors, camping, swimming, and playing with their dog Taz. Family is the most important thing to Dr. Cody, and he is excited to be working with his twin brother Kip, and raising their children together.
Dr. Cody attended Indiana University School of Dentistry, where he graduated in 2008 top ten percent of his class with distinction. He loves to speak the Spanish language, and had the opportunity to use his Spanish on a dental service trip to Mexico in 2008. In Mexico he helped many patients who could not afford dental care. This is just one of the many reasons Dr. Cody went into dentistry, because he has a kind, giving, and generous heart. He loves the art of dentistry, and helping to give people a beautiful smile.
After graduation Dr. Cody and his wife moved to Gilbert Arizona where he began practicing for the next 6 years. During his time in Arizona he became proficient at doing dental implants, oral surgery, invisalign, and perfecting his general dentistry skills. Dr. Cody ran and operated his own practice Spectrum Smiles for 5 years, before moving to Texas to take over the practice of Dr. Robert Ferguson with his twin brother Kip.
His family has grown to love the Texas area, and they look forward to many great memories here. Dr. Cody will always strive to give his patients 100% when it comes to quality care. He loves and appreciates all his patients.
