It is important that mothers who are breastfeeding or wish to breastfeed afterwards see an IBCLC. Many mothers who report pain while breastfeeding prior to the procedure may have already compensated in order to breastfeed. Infants may need to retrain in attaching to the mother and strengthen their muscles.

Dr. Holguin received her dental degree from the University of Ciudad Jurez before attaining her certificate in pediatric dentistry from the University of Puerto Rico. She is involved in many dental organizations, such as the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Texas Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and Texas Dental Association and is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist.

An enthusiastic artist, Dr. Holguin enjoys spending time painting and making crafts. She loves her profession, and treating children is the most rewarding experience for her. She looks forward to serving our community for many years to come.

Dr. Yanitza Feliciano was born and raised in Puerto Rico. She graduated from University of Puerto Rico (UPR) in Aguadilla with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. Dr. Feliciano later attended UPR- Medical Sciences Campus where she obtained her dental degree. After dental school Dr. Feliciano worked as General Dentist in Houston. During this time, she fell in love with the idea of treating children and decided to pursue a specialty in Pediatric Dentistry. She finished her Pediatric Dentist Residency in Puerto Rico in 2014. An advocate for breastfeeding mothers, Dr. Feliciano is also a Lactation Educator. With this knowledge Dr. Feliciano plans to bring smiles to children around El Paso. In her spare time, she enjoys going to the movies with her husband Alejandro and her sons Mateo and Nicolas. She is involved in many dental organizations, such as the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and Texas Dental Association and a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist since 2015.

Dr. Edith Osorio graduated from The University of Puerto Rico with her dental degree. Determined that her passion was to treat and work with children, she became involved in community service and extracurricular activities that enabled her to interact and promote oral health care for kids during dental school.

She continued her education in Puerto Rico in Pediatric Dentistry and specialized in hospital dentistry, interceptive orthodontics, quality health care for infants, children, adolescents and special needs patients. She has been working with Star Kids since 2013 and is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist since 2014.

Dr. Courtney Brooks found her passion for working with children while at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. While pursuing her dental degree, Dr. Brooks spent her nights and weekends helping to care for children in a residential facility. Though this experience was not related to dental care for children, it cemented Dr. Brooks passion for children and being an advocate for those too young to do it for themselves. After completing her DMD at Harvard School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Brooks received her training in Pediatric Dentistry at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Dr. Brooks went on to become a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist in 2004. She is part time clinical faculty at UCSF Dental School teaching pediatric dentistry residents. She has been working with Star Kids Pediatric Dentistry since 2006. Dr. Brooks is a mother of two and is committed to treating every child as if they were her own. Dr. Brooks is an active member of various professional groups, including the AAP and AAPD. Dr. Brooks commits her free time to volunteering with her childrens school, volunteering with the Sean N. Parker Center for Food Allergy and is an active member of The Junior League. She also spends time with her husband and children enjoying the outdoors, cooking, traveling, and visiting with family.

Dr. Delaughter is a native of Atlanta, Georgia and graduated from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry before devoting two rewarding years to teaching high school science. She later attended Meharry Medical College, where she was awarded her Doctorate of Dental Surgery. She continued her studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry for Pediatric Specialty Training.

She is a former member of the Pediatric Residency Program at Lutheran Medical Center where she provided comprehensive dental services to children and adolescents at St. Joseph Hospital for Specialty Care in Providence, Rhode Island. Dr. D is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

She devotes her time and talent as an advocate and mentor for children and adolescents. Dr. D enjoys reading, biking, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends and military families like her own.

Dr. Edgar Perales is a graduate of the University of Ciudad Juarez where he received his dental degree. Upon completion of his studies, he worked as faculty member for the Dental Assisting Program at El Paso Community College. During this time, he realized his passion for working with children which led him to further his education in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Puerto Rico. While completing his education in Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Perales was a part of missionary groups where he helped serve the underprivileged communities of Puerto Rico.

Dr. Perales is involved in many dental organizations such as The American Dental Association, The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Texas Dental Association, El Paso District Dental Society, and is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist. In his spare time, he enjoys going to the movies and is an avid reader on topics regarding technology and science. Being born in the neighboring city of Ciudad Juarez, Dr. Perales is looking forward to providing quality dental care to the children in the El Paso community.

Dr. Carolyn Muckerheide truly gives us something to cheer about. After graduating from Texas Tech University, this former Red Raider cheerleader attended dental school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. While working on her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree, she was deeply moved by the youngest patients that came to see her at the WIC clinic. Unable to provide the specialized care that these young infants and children desperately needed as a general dentist, Dr. Muckerheide sprang into action to become a Pediatric Dentist. Dr. Muckerheide has been practicing dentistry since 2002. In 2005, she received the prestigious Richard C. Pugh Achievement Award. She has been working with Star Kids since 2006. Dr. Muckerheide lives in Portland, Oregon, with her husband and four children. She enjoys Bible studies, swimming at the lake, snow skiing and water skiing, walking, hiking, yoga and reading.

Dr. Michael Silva was born and raised in San Diego, California in to a commercial tuna fishing family. He graduated from San Diego Christian College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. Dr. Silva later attended the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry at the University of Southern California on a U.S. Army scholarship where he obtained his dental degree. After dental school Dr. Silva worked as General Dentist in the Army at a base in New York and deployed to Africa and the Middle East. He always had a passion for children and knew he wanted to pursue a career working with them. On a U.S. Army scholarship, he pursued a specialty in Pediatric Dentistry at Texas A&M (Baylor) College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas, graduating in 2018. He passed his written specialty boards that same year and successfully completed his oral board certification in 2019 becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry in 2019. Dr. Silvas final Army duty station was in the Southern California desert and he transitioned to private practice in El Paso after leaving the military in 2020. Dr. Silva is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Texas Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Texas Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. He also is a faculty member and part of the admissions committee at the Hunt School of Dental Medicine in El Paso. When not at the office Dr. Silva enjoys all the outdoor activities El Paso has to offer, reading, baking, watching movies, and exploring West Texas and the surrounding regions. He loves the personal interaction with every child and family at the Star Kids Dental Offices and hopes to make each visit a positive experience.

Edgar has been at Star Kids Pediatric Dentistry since 2011 overseeing all the administrative functions in the office as our Office Administrator. His knowledge and background in Accounting have enabled him to provide the necessary support and skills to our organization. As our Administrator he is constantly looking for ways to improve the administrative processes so that tasks get done more effectively in order to provide quality service to our patients and their families. Edgar enjoys spending quality time with his wife and three children whom are involved in several extracurricular activities.

Claudias love for the dental field began here over 20 years ago. As our Office Manager, she incorporates her ongoing commitment to dental health by actively supporting our patients and staff at both of our locations. Claudia has become involved in multiple organizations in the community and is a member of the AADOM. Her knowledge and experience have allowed her to assist in the growth of our staff and our office. She has been happily married for the past 16 years and is especially proud of her Eastwood Trooper and her Young Marine. Semper Fi!

Adriana has been with our practice for 24 years. She started out as a dental assistant and obtained her degree in Nursing in 2008. Her knowledge and experience in both the dental and medical fields make her a great asset to our office. She loves kids and is honored to be part of a team that provides patients the care that they need, in a caring way. Adriana and her husband have 3 sons and 2 beautiful granddaughters. She enjoys going to church and doing outdoor activities with her family.

Paola began her dental career in 2010. She joined our Star Kids family in 2016 as our Private Insurance Specialist. Upon her arrival Paola has helped our organization incorporate new procedures in order to become more efficient. One of her many specialties includes working with our Nasoalveolar Molding Therapy babies. Her continued commitment to our organization has helped our team become more knowledgeable in order to assist the countless families we serve. Paola loves spending her spare time with her fur baby, Maggie and her family.

Becky began her journey with us three years ago and has become an asset to our organization since her arrival. In her position, Becky has been committed to providing quality customer service to our patients and their families so that they may have a rewarding experience. Her enthusiasm and vibrant personality have enabled her to establish positive relationships with not only our staff but our patients. Becky is a proud wife and mother of three wonderful children. On her spare time, she enjoys going to see her children at their school activities and spending time with her family and friends.

April joined our Star Kids family 6 years ago. During her career at Star Kids, April developed a passion for working with children and encouraging them to commence good oral hygiene early on. Being a mother of two further inspires April to provide unsurpassed care to her patients. April has been an asset to our Baby Dental Clinic since its opening and is also a part of the marketing team within our organization. On her spare time, April loves to spend time with her family, watch movies, and exercise.

Alejandra has been a part of our Star Kids team since June of 2012. During her time here, Alejandra had become a vital part of our new Star Babies Baby Dental Clinic and became the Baby Clinic Team Leader in 2018. Her favorite part of her position at Star Kids is being able to interact with patients while guiding them on the tools needed to have a bright and healthy smile. Alejandra is also an instructor for the El Paso Pediatric Dental Assistant School where she is able to share her knowledge and skills on working with a specialty group so that each student is successful upon completion of their course work.

When she not at Star Kids, Alejandra loves spending time with her daughter Sara and her son Zachary. They enjoy spending time outdoors, traveling and love to read books. Her family is a big part of her life and she is proud to be able to have a second family with our Star Kids Family.

Ester always knew she belonged in the dental field. She graduated with her Associates of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene at El Paso Community College in 2013. Knowing she wanted to work with pediatric dentists, she immediately found her fit in the dental profession here at Star Kids Pediatric Dentistry.

Ester is a proud mother of two boys. She loves country music and attends as many country concerts as she can. She enjoys reading and watching movies, but most of all she enjoys spending her time making wonderful memories with her family and friends.

Arianna has been a part of our office for 11 years. She enjoys working and establishing a positive relationship with the families in our office in order to educate them on proper oral hygiene. Her positive attitude has allowed her to build long-standing relationships with our patients which in turn has given them a positive experience. She is the proud mother of two girls with whom she loves to spend quality time with. Arianna also enjoys painting, drawing, and photography.

Alondra joined our team in 2018 after graduating as a dental assistant from Vista College in 2017. In the short amount of time that Alondra has been here, she has become a valuable part of our team by not only providing quality customer service to each one of our patients but also has helped her team to establish new procedures in order to become more efficient in providing quality dental care to each of the families we serve. Alondra loves to educate the families of our practice about the importance of healthy oral hygiene while providing a welcoming experience to each one of them. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her son as well as watching movies and likes to dance.

Vianey was born and raised in El Paso, Texas and has worked in the dental field since 2000. After working as a dental assistant, she went back to school and obtained a Biology degree from UTEP. Being a part of the dental field had inspired her to further her education to become a dental hygienist and was bestowed with the prestigious Golden Scaler award upon graduation.

Vianey is zealous about oral health and loves to help her patients improve their oral hygiene. Her knowledge and experience in the dental field will allow her to provide not only a pleasant experience to our patients but thorough oral care with a unique individualized dental hygiene care plan to even the smallest of our patients. Vianey loves spending time with family and friends, enjoys traveling to new places and also loves to go fishing, hiking and camping.
