Dr. Shawn Magelsen grew up here in the Pacific Northwest. After high school he spent two years doing mission work in Brazil and upon his return went to Brigham Young University where he received his undergraduate degree in Exercise Physiology. He chose Temple University in Philadelphia to study dentistry and received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine in 2003.

Providing dental care that makes people happy and confident in their smile is my favorite aspect of dentistry. It is very rewarding to see the amazing changes that quality dentistry can make in a persons life. It is my goal to offer all of my patients excellent dental care and to make sure that they feel comfortable and confident with the care they receive. I am committed to furthering my education to make sure that I am always up-to-date with the latest advancements in dentistry.

I am very happy to work with an amazing group of people who sincerely care about our patients and are committed to doing all they can to provide the best possible dental experience. Each member of my team is friendly and compassionate toward our patients needs as well as highly trained in each aspect of patient care.

Outside of the office I spend most of my time with my wife Sarah and our four wonderful daughters. They keep us very busy with many activities like piano and dance lessons and weekly youth group activities. I am very active with my local church group. When I have free time I love to ski, cycle, or hike.

Dr. Matt Andelin grew up here in Stanwood, WA. He was raised on a farm and learned strong family values including the importance of working hard and giving back to the community. After high school, he served the people in Santiago, Chile on a mission trip for two years. He graduated in the top five percent in his undergraduate degree in Exercise Physiology at Brigham Young University-Idaho. Dr. Matt studied dentistry at Midwestern University in Arizona where he received his Doctorate in Dental Medicine.

I am our office's Practice Administrator. I love working in the dental field, and have been since 2003. I am the go-to girl for insurance and any question regarding insurance. I started working for Dr. Magelsen in June 2016. I love working for Dr. Magelsen and Dr. Andelin because they truly cares about their patients and staff. I have been married since 2004 to my husband, Joel. I am also a mom, to my daughter Peyton. We moved back to Stanwood in 2014 to be closer to my family. I love spending time with my family! We love being outdoors, especially when it's warm. We love traveling and going on road trips.

As the Patient Care Coordinator, I do a little bit of everything at the front. I have been in the dental field since 2016. I graduated from Skagit in 2016 and then became a certified professional coder. I love working with patients and helping them with benefits and their treatment needs. I enjoy working in the dental community and growing my dental knowledge each day. I have been married since May 2005 to my husband, Matt. I have two boys that are very involved in sports. On the weekends you will find me on the football or lacrosse field.

I joined Dr. Magelsens awesome team in 2013, and began my dental career in 1996 while attending Shoreline Community College. It is my goal to make sure our patients always receive quality care as well as have a comfortable, enjoyable dental experience. Im passionate about dentistry, I love knowing that I am helping people achieve healthy, beautiful smiles day in and day out. In my time away from the office, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, and watching movies.

My passion for dentistry started in 2010 when I became a dental assistant. Being a dental assistant gives me the opportunity to help people to keep their mouths healthy. I enjoy getting to know people and helping them feel at ease and comfortable in the dentist office.

Besides my love for making jewelry, I love spending time outdoors from backpacking to snowshoeing in my free time. I feel very fortunate living near the North Cascades and being able to enjoy the beautiful scenery. I am excited to be a part of the Stanwood Dental Care team!

My main duty is to provide therapies to keep our patients' oral health in optimal condition while meeting their comfort and aesthetic needs. I enjoy the relationships I am able to build with our patients, as well as educating them on how they can improve their overall health. I live in the Stanwood community with my husband, Josh, and our three sons, Leif, Brock, and Beau, who keep us busy! I've been working with Dr. Shawn Magelsen at Stanwood Dental Care since 2006 and he is an amazing dentist who truly cares about the health and well being of each of his patients. He is a perfectionist in providing excellent dental care with a friendly and compassionate demeanor. The ease in which he connects with those around him seems effortless. Dr Shawn is the only dentist I would recommend to my family and friends!

I am responsible for helping my patients achieve the very best dental health possible through education and preventive dental treatments. I started working in this office in 2008 and have enjoyed getting to know our family of patients. I love working with Dr. Magelsen because he makes each day fun and full of learning opportunities. I married an amazing man in 2006; we have been blessed with two wonderful children.

I make sure each one of my patients leaves our office after a checkup with clean, healthy teeth and the knowledge to keep it that way! It is a lot of fun to see patients achieve their best possible smile and reach their oral health goals. Dr. Magelsen creates a fun and relaxed environment that makes me excited to come to work everyday. I am married, with a son who is almost 2 years old. In our free time we love to be outdoors, hiking, snow boarding, and playing sports.

Our team loves helping kids grow into healthy adults. At either end of the age spectrum, the bases are covered. Dr. Magelsen knows that early experiences influence the value kid's place on their oral health as adults. And they choose to seek or avoid future care by how they're treated now. Rest assured, the bar sits high here.
